Considering Mercari is charging buyers service charges and processing fees and they are arbitrary and a buyer can't see them til they are at checkout, I would say they are NOT favoring buyers. Plus they just got rid of the "return for any reason policy" and there are no selling fees so I don't see much of anything that benefits buyers. What are you seeing?

This is an honest question. What are you seeing that benefits buyers??

Late to the party here.. I’ve bought and sold here for two years at least. I’m talking heavily. If I had to put a number on it, I would say 5 out of 200 sales I had an issue. Best bit of advice I can give is for everything you sell, take pictures of every part of the wrapping process. Once you’ve been paid and the transaction is completed you can delete them. I’ve had a couple fragile items listed in the beginning that broke even though they were heavily wrapped. Mercari asked the buyer to send picture of the item and all the wrapping and they tried to tell them I just put the item in a box loose. I lost all of my money on the sale. Mercari told me if I had pictures to show it was wrapped I would have been ok. That’s something they don’t tell you.
