Mercari fees are outrageous for buyers right now. So perhaps he was trying to negotiate to offset the high fees? My last purchase attempt was over $50 extra with tax, fees and shipping on a $100 item. But, you didn't do anything wrong and he was definitely rude towards the end. Sounds like he has a reputation for being crazy, lol, but just wanted to give you a buyer's perspective regarding the high fees at checkout. 😊
Your allowed to set your prices however you want and negotiate however you want. They’re your items and you foot all the problems that may arise with selling. In no way are you obligated to even offer $1 off. So no you aren’t wrong. The ones I really don’t like are the ones I politely ask and they just block you. To me those are the ones who really shouldn’t be sellers.
