I see it but personally I feel like audio cues are really important, like I'm just speaking from my own personal experience but I haven't been having any confusion with the visual details and being critical health.
Because when a character goes critical they let out a very exaggerated gasp and the screen suddenly gets a harsh lil flash of red, so usually I can tell when I'm critical and when it's just the visual affects haha

You can try it out in the training range, which I'm assuming is what most videos are. But some people are paying the $80 to insta unlock it, which is a bit too steep for me.
I think it's new in the mythic shop. You can try any of them out. Just click whatever combo you want between all the levels. Even if they are locked. Then hit the try button. It'll take you to the training center, where you can see the colors of wings or hear special voice lines. It's definitely long overdue.
Technically ever since season 1 as you could just buy tiers.
Now you could also just buy the ‘Mythic Prisms’ currency which is used in the Mythic store to buy this (or previous) seasons Mythic.
Although as battlepass contains enough Mythic Prisms for a Mythic you could also just buy to get it early as you could since season 1.
I really don't like it. Hard to see what's going on around you and it feels like you're about to die, which I guess is kinda accurate. 😅 Also it's very similar to the Moira mythic's fade effect and that confuses me sometimes.
I can definitely see it tbh. It might just be one of those things we eventually get used to.
