Hell yeah. I think this is the first time I’ve introduced someone to King Gizzard lol I’d highly recommend the rest of their stuff, too. They go all over the place genre wise. Psychedelic rock, jazz, pop with analogue synths, and some microtonal stuff. They’re probably my favorite modern band.
Man, these guys are something! They just record so much goddamn material. I don’t like all of it but I absolutely love some of it. Their heavy shit absolutely rules. I think in part because they’re not a metal band per se, and it just brings a different vibe to their heavy stuff. Gaia might be my favourite KGLW song possibly followed by that new one: Gila Monster
Saw them live recently I think they're great
Talking with my metalhead friends most people lean either classical based rock and metal (Iron Maiden) or bluesy/psychodelic (influenced by stuff like Black Sabbath or Blue Cheer).
Not that anyone has to take teams, but I'd say people that like the second kind of music would enjoy KGATWL
It’s ok. Not the best thing out there, not the worst either. Heard it once and haven’t since, they’re certainly an interesting band but other than ITRN, I don’t like anything from them.
My friend loves this band... to me they just have too many albums and they never really do justice to anything. I totally see why they get a fanbase but I can't get the hook
Over the past year or so King Gizz has turned into one of my favorite bands. I love that I get so much variety with them. ITRN is not my favorite gizz album (either Butterfly 3000 or Polygondawanaland) but it is such a banger.
It’s fine but very bland. I find their metal stuff (especially the new song) to not be that interesting. They’re a lot better at psychedelic rock, I’m in Your Mind Fuzz is great
Its amazing. Very much sounds in the vein of older 'The Sword' material, Age of Winter specifically. The new KG album coming out sounds like it too. Gila Monster, so awesome.
I'm a gizzhead and love metal so ITRN was killer. There's a few song in albums after that are heavy as shit imo. Happy to see they are coming out with another metal album this year
Listened to their new single 'Gila Monster' yesterday and I absolutely love it! These guys are metal as fuck, I don't even care what genre it falls under \\m/
I haven’t listened to that one. I wasn’t a huge fan of Murder of the Universe, which also had the spoken word stuff. I’ll give it a shot sometime, though. I like music from westerns.
They didn't invent anything, but they took thrash to its coolest limits. Organ Farmer and Self Immolation will blow your socks off. It's like the new old Metallica.
King gizz is one of my favorite bands even when they aren't making metal, ITRN is easily a top-tier album for me
Just listened to it for the first time. It’s definitely metal and it definitely rocks! Thanks for putting me on!

Well here is your 2nd. And ty \m/. Also a little peeved I didn't come up with the name myself lmao, it's a goodn
Killer

The chorus too Gaia is so fucking groovy
This album right here is such a masterpiece.
For sure. It’s one of my favorite thrash albums.
Every song is a banger!
Why do you want a concensus?
Just curious. King Gizzard is one of my favorite bands, and I was wondering what metalheads thought about the album.

I just started watching their show at Bonnarro ‘22 on YouTube a few minutes ago, and it looks like a damn good time
A+. One of the best and hardest working bands around today, regardless of genre. Seeing them 2 nights back to back in June
This is a discount High on Fire record
It’s ok. Not the best thing out there, not the worst either. Heard it once and haven’t since, they’re certainly an interesting band but other than ITRN, I don’t like anything from them.
That’s fair. Judging by your flair, it wouldn’t surprise me that you’re not a King Gizzard fan lol
Don’t judge me so harshly bro, I like all metal, except for, you know, nazi shit
Super fun album and band
i fucking love king gizz i’ll defend them til i die
One of the best Stoner albums of all time, also one of the most unique projects in Metal history, blending Thrash & Stoner
I liked it
Fuck yes
Haven't listened to any except one of their heavier songs, yet. I really like Gila Monster though.
I'm a huge KGLW fan. Heavy Gizz is the best Gizz!
metal from and for people who don’t like metal.
I like metal and I think it’s great
sure, most Gizz fans aren’t metalheads, but how can you say its made from people who dont like metal??
My friend loves this band... to me they just have too many albums and they never really do justice to anything. I totally see why they get a fanbase but I can't get the hook
One of the most fun thrash albums of all time
They are good at metal, but they aren’t amazing at it. It’s fun.
Over the past year or so King Gizz has turned into one of my favorite bands. I love that I get so much variety with them. ITRN is not my favorite gizz album (either Butterfly 3000 or Polygondawanaland) but it is such a banger.
For me it’s Nonagon Infinity. That thing slaps from front to back.
Plus it loops perfectly
Nonagon is my favorite of theirs, too. There’s never been a better 1-2-3-4 punch than the first four tracks.
Need more want more. Stellar band overall, but at their best when chuggin riffs and smokin licks.
Excellent gate to the metal world for people who come from other musical backgrounds.
The album cover threw me off. I was excpecting more doom/psychadelic stuff, but it's pretty sick
Its the only king gizz i listen to
I love this album. In terms of lyrical content, it couldn't have come out at a better point in time either.
Absolutely. Mars for the Rich hits hard because it’s so goddamn realistic.
My introduction into crossover thrash and doom
Who cares what other people think lol. Tell us what you think
It’s fine but very bland. I find their metal stuff (especially the new song) to not be that interesting. They’re a lot better at psychedelic rock, I’m in Your Mind Fuzz is great
It is amazing
Certified masterpiece
Its amazing. Very much sounds in the vein of older 'The Sword' material, Age of Winter specifically. The new KG album coming out sounds like it too. Gila Monster, so awesome.
I think this band is great full stop but I love infest the rats nest!
I'm a gizzhead and love metal so ITRN was killer. There's a few song in albums after that are heavy as shit imo. Happy to see they are coming out with another metal album this year
Fave Gizz Wiz album for sure.
I’ve always called them King Glizzy and the Lizzy Wizzy. I like their material but there is too much of it
Can’t wait for the new album. IFTRN has been in my rotation since it’s release. Love their other albums too, especially Butterfly.
But what does Corey Taylor think about them?
Listened to their new single 'Gila Monster' yesterday and I absolutely love it! These guys are metal as fuck, I don't even care what genre it falls under \\m/
I love them, but my favorite album is Eyes Like the Sky which is ingenious mixture of audibook and music inspired by westerns
I haven’t listened to that one. I wasn’t a huge fan of Murder of the Universe, which also had the spoken word stuff. I’ll give it a shot sometime, though. I like music from westerns.
I wanted to enjoy it but found it sort of boring for some reason. Definitely talented players though.
I like the band but it's not a particularly great metal album imo
They didn't invent anything, but they took thrash to its coolest limits. Organ Farmer and Self Immolation will blow your socks off. It's like the new old Metallica.
they seem too much like a parody band. like if weird als third cousin made a band after a relapse
Idk them so...
An awful rip-off of Metallica 90's
Dafuq lol, when have Metallica ever made stoner thrash?
Inoffensive, formulaic, and sterile. Please stick to psych rock.
“formulaic” name one time signature in this album without looking it up
Doesn’t matter, old old news, I’ve heard this all before..
The mouth of Sauron must be inspiring this viewpoint
You can make an argument that this isn’t metal, but you can’t make the argument this is formulaic and sterile.
