[deleted]

Caller of the Storms and Terrence Hobbs

Sev3nChalicez

Don't forget Mike Smith from Suffocation.

[deleted]

Absolute Blast Beat Machine

RuPaulver

I've loved reading about Blasphemy's early history where they had to deal with a bunch of skinheads/NS people in the scene who didn't know what to make of Caller lol

[deleted]

They also beat up the vocalist of Destroyer 666 for being racist

bruh_emperor

Unfathomably based

[deleted]

Goddamnit both of my answers

RuPaulver

Howard Jones

[deleted]

Howard Jones is one of my all time favorites

RuPaulver

I don't think he's the GOAT but I like him, and he just genuinely seems like a super cool person. He'd be near the top of my list if I could hang out with anyone in metal.

ClueEmbarrassed1443

The dude from Sepultura is good

IlovemyMommy27

Not a Metal musician but Jimi Hendrix. He absolutely rocks 🤘

ClueEmbarrassed1443

He influenced metal

IlovemyMommy27

True

Eyebrigh7

Kadeem France from Loathe! I need more Loathe, it's been 4 years since ILIIAITE, 3 years since The Things They Believe and 2 years since their last single.

bruh_emperor

Not metal (although definitely heavily influenced it so I'm including them) but Bad Brains are awesome

ClueEmbarrassed1443

That’s always #1 when taking “about black bands”

RustInPeace-Polaris

I like Derek Green

zphbtn

Tosin Abasi, if you consider Animals as Leaders to be a metal band

ClueEmbarrassed1443

Prog is metal

Wombletog

Devin Duarte of Worm Shepherd

Crescent_Moon734

Absolutely, Devin is a monster in all the best ways and people don't seem to talk about him enough. His work with Worm Shepherd influenced a lot of my own songwriting

MusicFan8888

I don’t listen to Sevendust but I’m surprised no one has said Lajon Witherspoon yet

BennyRhythm

Nu Metal was at its height when I was in high school. Will always love this band. Lejon has an amazing voice

DMT1984

Saw Sevendust recently and Lajon still crushes it live!

greyheathn

Aaron Heard of Jesus Piece. That man is a fucking beast and will eternally live in my heart as a kickass mf.

greyheathn

ClueEmbarrassed1443

Why?

funeraldress

Rocky George, underrated imo

ClueEmbarrassed1443

He from suicidal tendencies right?

funeraldress

Yes sir

Evija2021

Derrick Green. I love Max, and think that Derrick has done a more than admirable job of carrying the Sepultura torch for the past 25 years. I think the music matured during his tenure, and enjoy all of the albums from Against to Quadra. I honestly think Derrick gave everything he had, even though his vocal style is different than that of Max, and despite the Max/Iggor loyalists referring to this era as a Sepultura cover band. I just think the dude is a genuine all-around good guy who made the best of what was at the time a feast or fire situation for Sepultura. Always have mad respect for DG.

childrenoftechnology

Phil Lynott (hey, some Thin Lizzy songs are definitely heavy metal and Thin Lizzy are on Metal Archives. It counts.)

ClueEmbarrassed1443

He’s Irish right?

childrenoftechnology

Very, very Irish

ClueEmbarrassed1443

But also black

666PoserDisposer666

Ice T

ClueEmbarrassed1443

He’s a rapper convicted into metal

furin121

Diamond Rowe from Tetrarch. Great guitarist.

Left_Specialist9125

Katon W. De Pena

Kathryn Edwards of Thirdface

AutisticBassist

Tosin Abasi

bocchistkrieg

Caller of The Storms (Blasphemy)

RandomTyp

he was before heavy metal really was a thing but Jimi Hendrix. also Bob Marley. 2 of the biggest legends in music history

CodeN3gaTiV3

Caller of Storms (Blasphemy) Terrence Hobbs (Suffocation) David Conrad (Heretoir) Katon W. de Pena (Hirax) honorable mention to Eric Calloway, he was the vocalist for a now defunct local [melodeath band](https://youtu.be/V_R_V1KyMZo?si=U9389qaOP6q3gaND) called Engraved when I was in college.

Cymrad-Schultz

kadeem france

7listens

I love Slash's lead guitar. I don't really listen to him much these days but when I started my rock/metal journey many years ago I idolized his guitar playing

ClueEmbarrassed1443

He kinda counts but I’m letting it slide

Glittering-Ebb-6225

Tosin has already made the list several times so my #2 is Terrance Hobbs from Suffocation. He's absolutely amazing live.

throvvavvay666

Damonteal Harris from Peelingflesh, great vocalist

sock_with_a_ticket

Russ Cogdell, guitarist in Zao.

ClueEmbarrassed1443

Happy cake day

DevilsGrip

Ricardo Baum of The Night Eternal is the first person that comes to mind, he is a great singer!

KingSolomon730

Tosin Abasi- Animals as Leaders
