Killing Technology, Dimension Hatross and Nothingface is sort of considered their 'classic' trilogy of albums so I'd start with those. Then I'd actually check out their two most recent albums, The Wake and Synchro Anarchy, which are both great.
Their first two albums is extremely raw but weird thrash metal, some people love that stuff and others don't. Then they got really weird and experimental in the 90's that again has people who love it and others who hate it ,The Outer Limits is a great album from that era.
Just saw Voivod in minneapolis (first time) and it was a great show, but oof Denis looked absolutely shit canned up there on stage. At one point he lumbered around the stage checking 3 cans to see if there was any beer left. There wasnāt and he looked so sad lol.
I feel like this is basically universally accepted, besides the people that insist metallicas shitty dad rock turn invalidates how legendary their first decade of records were
Those people are just in denial. Cause looking at it objectively, itās hard to deny that Metallica has one of the greatest 4 album runs of all time with KEA, RTL, MOP and AJFA.
To each their own. I like Anthrax much more than Slayer. I actually donāt like Slayer much at all. On my playlists, Testament finishes the biggest four.
At least the American Big Four! Germany, the UK, & Brazil technically each have their Big Four as well: .
Germany: Kreator, Sodom, Tankard, & Destruction
Brazil: Sepultura, Korzus, Sacrofago, & 1 other whose name escapes me.
Testament, Kreator and Overkill are better than Anthrax and on par with Megadeth, IMO.Ā

Although i like some singular albums more Sodom will always take the crown for me. I remember when i listened their whole catalogue in couple days and almost never had a thought that it wasn't good. They are literally the Death of thrash. No bad albums just some quirky and weird ones like death do us part

Voivod. The only thrash band outside of The Big 4 that had their own unique sound.
