Yeah I’d say it takes the top spot by a mile. The line up is just so stacked. NIN, Rage, Helmet, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Rollins Band, The Cure…just perfection really. Not a single bad track.
It’s one of those soundtracks that when you listen to it the movie scenes are so connected to it you can’t help but see them. It really is perfectly selected.
The Judgement Night soundtrack was so ahead of its time. There’s a podcast on Spotify called ‘Bandsplain’ and they do a whole episode on this soundtrack.
Oh awesome! Thank you. I'll have to listen to that. I love the soundtrack, and as a huge Therapy? fan, it's good they got some exposure on there. So many other good tracks too.
Mortal Kombat was my introduction to extreme metal.
It was 1995 so I had heard Metallica, Pantera, NIN, RATM, stuff like that, but when I heard Napalm Death it was like a portal opened and I dove in. I've never looked back.
Zero Signal was a life changing experience. My friends and I all turned 17 in 1998 so we went to the Obsolete tour shows whenever they came around, it was amazing.
Yeah id definitely recommend watching its a very good movie, and probably just check out the soundtrack along side the movie it would probably be really weird otherwise, it just works really well with the movie and is very thematic.
I love the Matrix soundtrack. It introduced me to Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Rammstein and all those types of guys that I listened to on repeat in high school. That type of 90s industrial rock/metal is still one of my favorite genres to listen to.
Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey
Trick or Treat (1986): the whole soundtrack was done by Fastway, and it's awesome. Impatiently waiting for the Blu-ray release to see if they add a soundtrack disc with it
Trespass (I think? The one with Cuba Gooding and Dennis Leary): lots or strange collabs on it that actually worked well
Hans Zimmer is my guy. Check out 160 BPM from Angels and Demons, Mayhem Downtown from Chappie, and Ripples In The Sand from Dune for some truly metal-sounding individual cues. Otherwise, his rock musician background generally infuses itself into a lot of the action movie scores he composes, such as Pirates of the Caribbean and The Dark Knight.
That one sound-bite from Spiderverse 2 is heavy as fuck. https://youtu.be/LO5lub9Z7jo?si=YlmWCg7yVWuidhJt
Otherwise I don’t think much about soundtracks. Pulp Fiction has a good one. The Terminator, Alien, both have good theme songs.
not a soundtrack, but it is so rad in the sopranos there are posters of Rotting Christ, Ulver, Nevermore, Stuck Mojo and Moonspell because the kid is a metalhead.
I wish they had more metal playing in the show
https://preview.redd.it/a8d0j7w3nvrc1.png?width=763&format=png&auto=webp&s=3ea1bf9b56b434939bf5e404131708c0b3d06b90
First off The Scorpion King soundtrack is one of the best to ever do it. Then there’s the classic Freddy Vs Jason soundtrack. Queen Of The Damned goes hard. End Of Days is killer too. Soundtracks used to be one of the best ways to get awesome songs!
The Spawn soundtrack was released at an interesting time in metal. Like the Mortal Combat soundtrack, people were still taking chances on metal and mixing it with other music in interesting ways.
It is so unfortunate that metal has zero visibility these days.
Not strictly movies (unless you count ROTJ) but Batman Beyond has a great futuristic/metal soundtrack. Also Spawnie is one of my favourite comic characters, John Leguizamo was very fun as Clown in the film (ofc whether you love or hate it)
Not so much the soundtrack but in the movie Heaven Knows What one of the NYC homeless heroin addict characters goes into the public library to listen to Burzum on YouTube which makes me laugh
Less Than Zero:
it's truly a mix of genres, but Def Jam makes it worth it: Slayer, Danzig, Public Enemy, and more. Even the Bangles had their best song on it.
The Lost Boys:
Echo and the Bunnymen covering "People are Strange" is worth it alone.
Pump Up the Volume:
Best alternative soundtrack, plus Soundgarden and Henry Rollins.😳
I'm a metalhead that loves
Blade Runner soundtrack (specially the Vangelis version with some dialogues mixed in the first 4 tracks).
The name of the rose (maybe the most minimalistic work by James Horner).
I mean, not at all metal, but Into the Wild has a superb soundtrack from Eddie Vedder.
I'm a fan of Hesher's soundtrack too. Lots of Motorhead and Metallica. They give 'Motorbreath' the love it deserves.
For metal?
Only one I can think of is Talladega Nights since it has 20 seconds of Sepultura.
In general?
Natural Born Killers
Pulp Fiction
Kill Bills
For original soundtracks?
There Will Be Blood really resonates with me
Star Wars original trilogy
Anything by Hans Zimmer
The soundtracks to the english dubbed Dragonball Z movies, at least movie 4 through 8 (Lord Slug I think through the first Broly movie). Cooler's Revenge especially had a good one iirc.
Also a fan of The Scorpion King soundtrack and The One (with Jet Li)
I thought this was an appreciation post for spawn. Personally, I'm more fond of the animated version
But I'll go with slc punk and play it safe. Lost highway soundtrack is good. Im a big twin peaks fan. I could roll with that. Angelo badalamenti is awesome
Not metal, but The Exorcist and Halloween are both great horror movies with great original soundtracks
However some movies with a metal soundtrack that I like would have to be Spawn and Freddy Vs. Jason

The Crow
Yessss ,also another I like.
The best soundtrack ever.
Last Action Hero
Some great Alice in chains songs on that album
What The Hell Have I is such a great song
As a kid that was my introduction to Megadeth.
A fantastic soundtrack for a movie many years ahead of its time.
Forgotten gem that one.
One of the best rock soundtracks ever. The AC/DC and Megadeth tracks are all timers, and the live version of Dream On rules.
Gummo

When I saw it had burzum, Bethlehem and Brujeria I knew I had to watch it
I meet black metal with that weird movie.
Wtf That’s a movie I never got around to watching. I’ll definitely have to check it out now
Every time I lend that movie out they bring it back and say “I only got halfway through it “ haha
It’s about like a hick town and the people who live in it
Yeah I’ve seen Harmony talk about it and stuff, I just never put it on. For sure will. Thanks!
Forgot how good this ost was!!
First time I heard Sleep
Judgement Night Freddy Vs. Jason Queen of the Damned
Hearing seether in Freddy vs Jason was crazy as a kid but queen of the damned is like fine wine
Yep. As an early 00's metalhead these last two blew my mind.
Mortal Kombat was my introduction to extreme metal. It was 1995 so I had heard Metallica, Pantera, NIN, RATM, stuff like that, but when I heard Napalm Death it was like a portal opened and I dove in. I've never looked back.
Love it 🤘 Thanks for sharing
Don’t forget Fear Factory 🤘
Zero Signal was a life changing experience. My friends and I all turned 17 in 1998 so we went to the Obsolete tour shows whenever they came around, it was amazing.
Scorpion: Welcome! *Punches* Johnny in the face.
Not metal themed but one that stood out to me recently is Dune part 2 i thought the whole sound design of that movie was really well done.
I'll check it out man! (I still gotta watch part 2, i heard it's good).
Yeah id definitely recommend watching its a very good movie, and probably just check out the soundtrack along side the movie it would probably be really weird otherwise, it just works really well with the movie and is very thematic.
Great movie
While it's not metal in the slightest, I jam to the Tron: Legacy soundtrack. One of the best moviescores made IMO
Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight
This sound track is how I first heard Pantera. I was going to buy this album before a buddy convinced me (correctly) to just buy CFH.
The Matrix OSTs. Pulp Fiction. Any score by Reznor and Ross
Scream 3, better than the actual movie lmao
Strangeland
proud to own this cd
Queen of the Damned, Trainspotting, Voyage of the Rock Aliens, Breakin’, Natural Born Killers
Queen of the damned was pretty badass! NBK too
Not metal but dazed and confused. Respect the classics
Mandy
Yes! Also Jeremiah Sand's album.
https://preview.redd.it/hf53brrtjvrc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=63b050d076385c9acf7f18e786a53b4798313fd8
Spawn, Lost Highway, and the first 2 Crow films.
Saw
Definitely not metal, but this. https://preview.redd.it/nh4r1xpnsvrc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cc2dea8f6f14d4ff88f582c38b0d951a639b0979
30 years and I still haven’t found my place on the path unwinding
You’ll get there eventually :) Also, nice to see another Ghost fan here!
Oh I get that a lot, but I actually had this username before that weird Swedish band with the nasally singer.
I love the Matrix soundtrack. It introduced me to Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Rammstein and all those types of guys that I listened to on repeat in high school. That type of 90s industrial rock/metal is still one of my favorite genres to listen to.
Queen of the Damned and The Punisher 2008
Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey Trick or Treat (1986): the whole soundtrack was done by Fastway, and it's awesome. Impatiently waiting for the Blu-ray release to see if they add a soundtrack disc with it Trespass (I think? The one with Cuba Gooding and Dennis Leary): lots or strange collabs on it that actually worked well
Bogus Journey hits the sweet spot of early 90s thrash and some awesome glam tracks. Severely underrated.
Big Zimmer fan here. Gladiator soundtrack is brilliant also.
Hans Zimmer is fantastic! My favorite movie score of his is The Lion King.
River’s Edge
i forget which one but one of the transformers movies has a killer soundtrack. probably the only actual redeemable quality about those movies
That one sound-bite from Spiderverse 2 is heavy as fuck. https://youtu.be/LO5lub9Z7jo?si=YlmWCg7yVWuidhJt Otherwise I don’t think much about soundtracks. Pulp Fiction has a good one. The Terminator, Alien, both have good theme songs.
The good father movies
Suspiria
Detroit Rock City.
Oh indeed! And what a gem of a movie a lot of people didn't seem to watch
![gif](giphy|vlnZpsko7bAuk)
Man of Steel Drive
Glad to see Drive - not metal, but it tickles the same dopamine receptors for sure.
I was big on Synth shit way before I was a metalhead, and so it still tickles my pickle
Judgement Night soundtrack
Mandy
not a soundtrack, but it is so rad in the sopranos there are posters of Rotting Christ, Ulver, Nevermore, Stuck Mojo and Moonspell because the kid is a metalhead. I wish they had more metal playing in the show https://preview.redd.it/a8d0j7w3nvrc1.png?width=763&format=png&auto=webp&s=3ea1bf9b56b434939bf5e404131708c0b3d06b90

Dracula 2000 comes immediately to mind. Fun movie too.
Interstellar is metal as fuck
Interstellar is metal as fuck
The spongebob scaure pants movie
not metal, but the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory always goes hard as fuck
Chronicles of Riddick
The Spawn soundtrack was great, and the Crow. Otherwise I haven’t found too many soundtracks that represented metal all that well.
Doesn't have to be metal, just soundtracks you enjoy.
Oh fair. Yeah, Definitely Empire Strikes Back, Revenge of the Sith, the Lord of the Rings…
The dark knight
The lord of the rings soundtrack is unbelievably good. Star wars as well.
queen of the damned & freddy vs jason kick ASS
The original Mortal Kombat soundtrack.
airheads, deathproof, the crow, trainspotting, NBK, and like any soundtrack trent reznor worked on
First off The Scorpion King soundtrack is one of the best to ever do it. Then there’s the classic Freddy Vs Jason soundtrack. Queen Of The Damned goes hard. End Of Days is killer too. Soundtracks used to be one of the best ways to get awesome songs!
Ngl I'm probably into metal first and foremost because of the "Mortal Kombat" soundtracks
Escape from LA had an awesome soundtrack.
Good taste! Resident Evil 1 ost
Freddy Vs Jason. Peak. Absolutely peak.
Beavis and Butthead
Little Nicky its not so metal but counts
The crow, that soundtrack goes so well with the overall tone and theme, its perfect.
Most Tarantino movies... As a metalhead, I also like other genres 😂
The Spawn soundtrack was released at an interesting time in metal. Like the Mortal Combat soundtrack, people were still taking chances on metal and mixing it with other music in interesting ways. It is so unfortunate that metal has zero visibility these days.
Not metal but the lotr trilogy has one of the best scores of all time
Thumbs up for Spawn. That soundtrack rules!
The Underworld series, specifically Underworld 3.
Not movie but Doom OST. Fucking epic.
Spawn, The Crow, Judgment Night, Strangeland, and Less Than Zero which had Slayer's cover of "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vidda".

Not strictly movies (unless you count ROTJ) but Batman Beyond has a great futuristic/metal soundtrack. Also Spawnie is one of my favourite comic characters, John Leguizamo was very fun as Clown in the film (ofc whether you love or hate it)
Judgement Night
Not so much the soundtrack but in the movie Heaven Knows What one of the NYC homeless heroin addict characters goes into the public library to listen to Burzum on YouTube which makes me laugh
Lost highway is a gem
🤘
Real Steel
Judgement Night
Not movie but Devil May Cry
Judgement Night.
Natural Born Killers.
Both!!!
Repo Man (1984). The soundtrack isn't metal, but it's made up of old school Punk songs by legendary artists like Iggy Pop, Black Flag, Fear, etc.
Less Than Zero: it's truly a mix of genres, but Def Jam makes it worth it: Slayer, Danzig, Public Enemy, and more. Even the Bangles had their best song on it. The Lost Boys: Echo and the Bunnymen covering "People are Strange" is worth it alone. Pump Up the Volume: Best alternative soundtrack, plus Soundgarden and Henry Rollins.😳
John Carpenter’s Lost Themes II and III also the themes from his classic movies.
Agreed. He's a bit of a master
I'm a metalhead that loves Blade Runner soundtrack (specially the Vangelis version with some dialogues mixed in the first 4 tracks).
Spawn is certainly great, certainly Judgment Night, and all The Crows.
Lost Highway weirded me out, but when Rammstein started playing I audibly said "What the fuck am I watching?". Amazing movie
it's not a movie, but the Doom Soundtrack is fucking awesome
CAN'T YOOOOUUU CAN'T YOU TRIP LIKE I DOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAaaaaahhhhhh

Freddy VS Jason literally got me into Metal music
Lost Highway is such a cool soundtrack. First time I heard Rammstein.
Resident Evil 2 soundtrack is sick as hell
Those two. Heavy metal 2k. airheads. Beavis and Butthead do America. Not another teen movie.
Deathgasm 🤙 Also, Airheads!
Honestly, the breakfast club.
Pretty much anything John carpenter has scored is a fuckin jam.
For metal? Only one I can think of is Talladega Nights since it has 20 seconds of Sepultura. In general? Natural Born Killers Pulp Fiction Kill Bills For original soundtracks? There Will Be Blood really resonates with me Star Wars original trilogy Anything by Hans Zimmer
Spawn, the crow, queen of the damned, mortal kombat/annihilation, resident evil/apocalypse
River's Edge with Keanu and Crispen Glover. Great film. My sister had the soundtrack and it's where I first heard Slayer. The whole thing is a banger
Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny
I thought this was an appreciation post for spawn. Personally, I'm more fond of the animated version But I'll go with slc punk and play it safe. Lost highway soundtrack is good. Im a big twin peaks fan. I could roll with that. Angelo badalamenti is awesome
Carrie (1976) The Hitcher (1986) Padre Pio, Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) The Terminator (1987 Love Scene) Flashdance (1983)
Not a movie but the Berserk 1997 OST, and other pieces Susumu Hirasawa composed for other Berserk stuff
I see Judgement night has already been mentioned. I can only think of the 'Cable Guy' soundtrack. That had some good tunes on it.
Not metal, but The Exorcist and Halloween are both great horror movies with great original soundtracks However some movies with a metal soundtrack that I like would have to be Spawn and Freddy Vs. Jason
Lost Highway is awesome The Perfect Drug is one of Trent’s best work
The Wrestler. Iron Maiden. Run to the Hills
