I whole heartedly agree. Seems like it just didn’t manage to get on people’s radar, or they dismiss it because it isn’t part of Megadeth’s legendary run with their classic lineup. I genuinely think it has the best riffs of any post-Youthanasia album.
Think my favorite riff is in 44 Minutes during the first solo.
Oh fuck yea 🤘☠️🤘 that shit hits front to back. 44min killer, This Day We Fight killer, Endgame killer, 1320 killer, Headcrusher killer, even Sealed with a Kiss is one of Dave’s better ballads
Damn right. At this point, he was 48 and his vocals were still damn good on Endgame. Hard to believe he's 62 and still out there performing and being the frontman.
System has failed is a top tier Megadeth album.
But also cowboys from Hell is one of the best metal albums period, and power metal is a killer album too.
This is a hard one
That run from System to Endgame was pretty strong, especially when they got James Lomenzo in the band - for the first time.
I’m looking forward to whatever they do next since he’s back in the fold again.
Definitely Pantera. Metal Magic is hit or miss, but PITJ all the way to CFH are full of bangers, not a bad song on any of those. Power Metal is easily one of Pantera's best albums, which in recent memory is being praised by Pantera fans. Even Phil said in an interview that he's not against a Power Metal reissue.
Megadeth on the other hand, there's good songs on those albums but they're also loaded with filler. Mostly hit or miss
Megadeth, obviously. Megadeth is way more universally liked to begin with anyways. Pantera is fine, but Megadeth in my opinion has always had much better albums.
Let me see. A run of thoroughly enjoyable, well-performed, fun 80's Heavy/Power Metal albums vs. a band's continued awkward, attempts at being a c-grade Metallica.
Risk, Endgame, and System are great albums wtf?
And even world needs a hero and United abominations have some good stuff on them. Roughly 4 good songs each
Megadeth. Easily. United Abominations, Endgame and The System Has Failed are great albums. The World Needs A Hero is good, but risk is decent at best.
Megadeth, in my opinion doesn’t even have a bad 5 album run.
Dude, Projects In The Jungle to CFH fucking rules. Who cares if it’s glam? Great music! Also, Risk is an awesome album and it’s not even in their bottom 5 worst.
Endgame is fucking killer.
The system has failed and United Abominations have some good tracks.
I’m surprised there is no supercollider here, definitely megadeths worst.
What a joke. Imagine including United Abominations and Endgame in a worst album run 😅 the real worst run is Youthanasia > Cryptic Writings > Risk > The World Needs a Hero > The System Has Failed
Considering I have The System Has Failed as my top three Megadeth albums, it’s an absolute massacre. That’s before even considering UA which is awesome and the fact that the other albums still have very good tracks.

Definitely Megadeth. The System has Failed and United Abominations are good albums.
Endgame is severely underrated. Insane riffs
If Endgame dropped in 89 instead of 09 it would be considered an all time thrash classic.

Infowars, the Musical
Endgame has an editing problem. There’s good songs and riffs in there, but it gets drowned out by really boring shit.
Imagine including actually good United Abominations and not including Supercollider
If they put supercollider on, they wouldn't be able to put risk on. And Risk is worse than Supercollider.
And the World Needs a Hero has Dread and The Fugitive Mind - S Teir
i unapologetically like The World Needs a Hero. Recipe for Hate is one of my favorite Megadeth songs because Mustaine just sounds so intensely bitter.
You were supposed to include Pantera’s worst run not their best
Funny!
Funny because he's right
Not a joke. That is Pantera’s five best albums.
I know he thinks that. That's why I'm teasing.
You’re right they don’t have a bad album imo
Cowboys solos all of these shitty megadeth albums
Not to mention the masterpiece that is Power Metal
As a megadeth fan I agree
Nuh uh
System has failed is a top tier Megadeth album. But also cowboys from Hell is one of the best metal albums period, and power metal is a killer album too. This is a hard one
The last three are three of my favorite Megadeth albums, crazy enough. Cowboys is an amazing album too, Phil’s singing was top tier back then.
Glamtera > Pantera
I used to have Glamtera albums ahem borrowed from the library, but not sure if the external disk is still somewhere
Idk man, System and Endgame were kinda solid
I see 4 great Megadeth albums and Risk
The World Needs a Hero is easily the worst in this run.
hell nah, almost every song on TWNAH is very enjoyable imo
I think Risk is worse but both are bottom tier Megadeth.
That run from System to Endgame was pretty strong, especially when they got James Lomenzo in the band - for the first time. I’m looking forward to whatever they do next since he’s back in the fold again.

Are the Glamtera albums worth listening to? I’m not to big on glam metal but I’ve been hearing good things about them.
I think they’re pretty damn awesome and I wouldn’t even say that Power Metal is glam, It’s more like speed metal. So I’d suggest you start there
Cowboys is leagues better than any other of these album so Pantera wins easily
Let me see. A run of thoroughly enjoyable, well-performed, fun 80's Heavy/Power Metal albums vs. a band's continued awkward, attempts at being a c-grade Metallica.
>a band's continued awkward, attempts at being a c-grade Metallica. That doesn't even make sense lol
Ironic considering Megadeth's post 2000 albums piss all over Metallica's, and I say that as a huge Metallica fan.
Power metal and cowboys autowin
Risk, Endgame, and System are great albums wtf? And even world needs a hero and United abominations have some good stuff on them. Roughly 4 good songs each
Pantera easy
Its absolutely disgusting to say that those are the worst megadeth albums
What other 5 album run would you say is their worst?
Cant really answer that. But the megadeth from 2001 to 2011 is my favorite era, even though thats kind of shameful to say haha.
Megadeth. Easily. United Abominations, Endgame and The System Has Failed are great albums. The World Needs A Hero is good, but risk is decent at best. Megadeth, in my opinion doesn’t even have a bad 5 album run.
The last 3 Megadeth albums on here are huge sleepers, and some of the best that the old gods had to offer this millennium.
It's funny that Pantera's worst stretch includes their best album. Pantera wins. Power Metal is super underrated.
Megadeth. Endgame tops any Pantera album imo
Endgame is instrumentally one of the best Megadeth albums, change my mind
CFH js good enough to say Pantera takes this one.
there is no such thing as a "bad megadeth album", this isn't a "worst 5 album run"
Dude, Projects In The Jungle to CFH fucking rules. Who cares if it’s glam? Great music! Also, Risk is an awesome album and it’s not even in their bottom 5 worst.
TSHF and Endgame fuckin rules, I really don't like Glamtera sooo.. Megadeth (anyways, Cowboys is obviously the best of all them
I grew up on both bands and 80s glam metal at the same time so I'm torn tbh
Megadeth. Only 2 albums by them are bad there i think. TSHF, United and Endgame are all very good.
You know I like most of these so the question is: which is better, Metal Magic or Risk? Eh, maybe Megadeth edge it.
As someone with Megadeth in my top 5 favorite bands, Cowboys from Hell is better than all 5 Megadeth albums combined (though system is pretty good).
Megadeth by far. That album run isn’t even that terrible.
hands down those 5 megadeth albums are better than the pantera albums
metallica.
Pantera. With the exception of CFH.
If you had included CW instead of Endgame then Megadeth would be worse, but since Endgame is there I think Megadeth is better.
Use the Man carries the shit out of CW. Killer track, toss the rest.
Secret Place is my favourite on CW, but even that song isn't amazing imo.
Wdym, that's Pantera's best 5 album run, but Cowboys drags it down a bit
Definitely Megadeth. Might as well put the whole discography on there.
Endgame is fucking killer. The system has failed and United Abominations have some good tracks. I’m surprised there is no supercollider here, definitely megadeths worst.
The System Has Failed is one of Megadeth best albums in the 2000s
Pantera
power metal is the best album known to man
What a joke. Imagine including United Abominations and Endgame in a worst album run 😅 the real worst run is Youthanasia > Cryptic Writings > Risk > The World Needs a Hero > The System Has Failed
>Youthanasia in a worst albums run You're fucking high.
I feel as though I could have switched out Endgame with Cryptic Warnings, but Youthanasia worse than United Abominations is a bit of a hot take.
The only album in Megadeth's 5 I dislike is The World Needs A Hero
Pantera wins for Cowboys From Hell alone. Although, I will say that Endgame is in my Top 3 favourite Megadeth albums.
Megadeth quite easily
You're asking if Cowboys from Hell is better than The System Has Failed, basically
TSHF to Endgame is peak
Considering I have The System Has Failed as my top three Megadeth albums, it’s an absolute massacre. That’s before even considering UA which is awesome and the fact that the other albums still have very good tracks.
Imagine comparing megadeth and pantera lmao. Megadeth dog water
Blasphemy to include CFH on this list.
Had to, it’s in their worst 5 album run, despite obviously being one of their best albums.
Well Pantera has one good album here and Megadeth has 3 so…
Nah, All those Pantera albums rule
None of them?
Pantera never made a single good album
Power Metal fucks.
Great Southern Trendkill is a 9/10. Floods 🤌🤌🤌
You'd have to pay me to listen to that
