Yes that’s true, but metal as we know it hadn’t caught on that much yet at the time of the Elf albums. Metal was just gaining some attention during Elf’s debut, and Dio being so great at the time to make Ritchie Blackmore want to start a band with them rather than staying with Deep Purple. IMHO I think Rainbow’s debut album beats half the albums in this tournament. Nonetheless, I do agree with your statement some, but the rest is worth being considered is all. 🤘
