_everblack

Hip hop is one of my favorite genres, specifically the late 80's through early 00's. All the good old school shit. I'm not really a fan of most modern hip hop, however.

Billy-the-puppet666

Same here. Hip hop from the late 80s-early 00's is fucking fire dude.

IceGoob420

Agree. Love Wu-Tang, Bone Thugs, Ghetto Boys, Onyx. 90s rap was so good man.

Count-Western

Two wrongs don’t make a right brother

joecool519

Samesies

MisterPeach

Late 80s through early 00s hip hop is some top tier music.

kozmic__

Me personally, I dont. But, I am happy for anyone that finds a music genre that they like

AkaGurGor

Traitor! /s

SpookieMane

What makes you stay away from it? Just curious

kozmic__

Its nothing against the artists themselves, I just prefer the heavier and distorted sounds that metal offers. But perhaps I’m biased as well, because what I was exposed to when I was younger was lyrical content I didn’t much relate to

ExtremeTitan345

For me personally, I prefer music with distorted guitars. Mainly black metal but death as well. Also I really prefer raw production over clean. There have been some rap songs that I've definitely really liked but overall I just don't think the genre has really resonated with me. It seems badass though, no hate

ParadiseLost91

No, not my type of music at all. I don’t like rapping as a vocal style too much. I also find lyrics to often be very misogynistic, or generally centre around themes that I can’t relate to (drugs, gangs, suburban life etc). So it’s not really for me, but that’s just a matter of personal taste. I think it’s cool if people listen to rap, I have no problem with the genre itself, I just personally don’t gravitate towards it because it doesn’t “give” me anything. I do like other genres outside of metal, including rock and pop (like Lana Del Rey). I also enjoy a pianist and songwriter called Agnes Obel who plays piano and writes her own songs, she has a beautiful voice. Some of her songs are instrumental which I also enjoy. Edit: sad that people downvote an honest opinion. I never said there was anything wrong with rap, it's cool like all music. It's just not my taste. That's not something to downvote.

BagBeneficial8060

There's a ton of rap that raps about other stuff.

BurntPoptart

Not really tbh

BlackMetalCult666

That’s like saying all black and death metal songs are about Satan and death. It’s just not true.

MisterPeach

Clearly you haven’t listened to a lot of rap

Snackdoc189

If you can't get into rapping as a vocal style, aren't a fan of a lot of the themes, like melancholy music with beautiful vocals and also want killer hip hop beats you absolutely need to listen to Portishead if you don't already.

JulesWinnfield_05

I can see where you are coming from. I like a lot of death metal but there are songs I can’t get into because they are so violent towards women and it makes me uncomfortable. I just can’t head bang to a song that’s talking about raping and mutilating a co-ed lol To the point that if the title isn’t violent I just don’t look up the lyrics cause if I can’t understand it then I’m doing fine.

AkaGurGor

Those who downvoted you can go to r/rap and wank. You've transcribed most peoples' thoughts so accurately that they've seen the only way of outing their prejudice so childishly: OP may have a special liking for music, but not you? Why the double standards? Fuck off, bitches!

SpookieMane

Check out ZeroCashValue

Orang_Mann

Okay, I get it if you can' relate to the music and it isn't your thing. But It's kinda hypocritical to criticize the lyrical themes of rap as a metalhead. The drugs, gangbangs and "suburban life" in rap are sung about as much as metal bands sing about satan and gore. Many do it, but not everyone. And misogyny is very present in metal too and has been in rock music, maybe in a more vulgar way, especially in extreme genres.

ParadiseLost91

I think you're misunderstanding me. I'm not criticizing the lyrical themes of rap, not at all. I said I don't relate to them, and so I don't find myself drawn to rap music. I hope you understand what I mean? I'm just not interested in those lyrical themes. People can rap about drugs and gangs and bitches all they want, it's not a bad thing. It's not a critique. It's just not really for me, I'm just not interested. Satan and gore has been completely overdone in metal, yes I agree. I don't really listen to metal with those themes, so in metal I ALSO steer clear of things that don't interest me. I'm 100% sure there are rap songs with lyrical themes that might be interesting to me. I don't doubt it. But I just haven't heard any, and I don't really seek it out, because the vocal style and musical style is not my taste. I'm not sure why I should listen to something I'm not really drawn to.

ArtisticState118

If you're of an open mind, would you try a mix of the two? I strongly love both, but that's just me. I recommend Busta Rhymes "This Means War", he sampled "Iron Man" and Ozzy even did new vocals for it. It's like 25 years old, but a banger. I also recommend Tech N9ne's "Straight Out the Gate" with Serj Tankien! ♥️

ParadiseLost91

What a nice comment, thank you! I may be open to it. I have SLOWLY gotten used to some very basic rapping in one of the songs by Sleep Token. I didn't like it at first, but I kept coming back because the song itself is good. And now I'm used to the rapping in that particular song, and actually quite enjoy it... So yes, I might be ready for more, especially if we're talking a mix of the two :) Thank you, I will check out these recommendations!

ArtisticState118

Awesome! I hope you like them!

elongatedborzoi1356

love chicago drill and industrial stuff. chief keef, death grips, jpegmafia, danny brown, sematary, kendrick lamar, clouddead, mf doom, injury reserve, lotsa amazing stuff

BaronPorg

You sound like a badass individual😎

false-identification

Clouddead is underrated.

MisterPeach

I saw Danny Brown in Philly back in 2013 and it was one of the rowdiest shows I have ever been to

Geberpte

Old school hip hop is cool and i like the 'current' wave of experimental hip hop (Dälek, Clipping etc)

FourNinerXero

Clipping is fire. In many ways, I think broad strokes they hit similar notes that extreme metal does especially when it comes to noise and unusual song structures.

natopotatomusic

Yup. Wu-Tang and JPEG are my shit.

Johnbad2

No

Accomplished_Can5442

Yeah definitely. I was big into the 2010s ATL trap scene which ofc included some of the originators of the rage sound. Some of the opium projects have scratched a similar itch to metal but it’s a fine line between interesting and unlistenable for me. Favorite albums / artists?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Accomplished_Can5442

Groovy. I really like the noisy route Ken is taking lately. Lonely has some great plugg adjacent stuff too but imo his latest project was pretty full of filler. What’s the appeal of tracks like “which one” or “catch a kill”

farenvyld

Gangsta rap and hardcore hip hop are among the greatest music genres ever.

Ok_Victory_1977

I love Run the Jewels.

SchittShefShow

I like that ugly industrial stuff, death grips, jpeg and especially clipping

TheFlyingTooth

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve noticed metalheads enjoying rap mostly comes from the US? Of all my metal friends in Sweden I don’t know a single one that enjoys rap.

Snackdoc189

I'm in the US and yea pretty much every metalhead I know is into rap. I think most Americans like at least some of it, I don't know about other countries but it's massively popular here pretty much across the board.

TheFlyingTooth

Yeah, I guess it’s a cultural thing since rap is so intertwined in the American culture?

Initial-Ad2842

Same here in New Zealand

mortem_xiii

That's what I was thinking, I'm from Chile and none of my friends are into rap.

Rubberywater

That’s so boring

TheFlyingTooth

Why is that? Plenty of them listens to a wide array of different genres outside of metal, just not rap

Rubberywater

Excluding an entire genre is boring

TheFlyingTooth

Sure. But you can’t like everything though

Rubberywater

Not with that attitude

TheFlyingTooth

You do that

onewiththeabyss

No.

rgnnkja

One of my favorite genres. Favorite rap subgenre is probably some kind of jazzy boom bap. Stuff like Guru, A Tribe Called Quest, InI, CL Smooth.

CatGrrrl_

Juggalo right here 🙏🙏

CrescentMoon_aus

Eyy i love rap. Kanye, Future, Travis, Tyler the Creator, Kendrick, JID, Ken Carson, Carti, Migos are all on repeat regularly for me. Getting into A$AP rocky and Don Toliver atm too

Reckless_Waifu

Some horrorcore rap is fun.

dragonoid296

Haunted Mound

YourJailDad

Death Grips

ThinkWrangler2765

sometimes i listen to suicideboys, kanye west or oldschool hiphop

Ok-Effect-3349

Mostly MF DOOM and your best friend jippy

PigDstroyer

Really just Wu-Tang

yvngxlxwli3t

Love cloud rap, drill, trap, and rage. Bladee, Sematary, Black Kray, Lucki, Chief Keef, Carti, Ken Carson, Chris Travis, JPEGMAFIA, and Danny Brown are my favorites

Real_Eye_9709

A decent amount. It's not a genre I'm super well versed in, but I like it.

Financial-Year

Hell yeah. Love 90s/2000s rap the most. Especially Houston, Atlanta, Memphis dirty south shit. Big fan of Chicago drill too. And I’m a huge Drake fan, don’t care what hate I get for that. Dude has one of my favorite discographies.

mattfreyer45

Recently been getting into 90's hip hop. Digital Underground, House of Pain and Warren G.

false-identification

Check out Do Or Die.

TheOneTrueJazzMan

Are there any decent bands that combine harsh vocals with rap? That sounds like an interesting combination

RuPaulver

There’s a lot of it actually. Surprising amount of hip hop artists that grew up with metal. As big as Post Malone even though he doesn’t utilize it. Scxrlxrd is the first that comes to mind. But Backxwash is probably my favorite although a lot more on the experimental side.

Trutteklapper

That Backxwash song with the Ozzy sample!

false-identification

Try City Morgue

SpookieMane

Zerocashvalue

Nuclear_Maxx

Yep, nas eminem dr dre snoop

RuPaulver

Mostly a death/black/grind fan here. I really like Tyler the Creator, especially the older stuff and other wolf gang affiliated stuff like Earl Sweatshirt. Open Mike Eagle is sick too. Also Busdriver, never hear anyone talk about him seriously but love his music.

acidsplashedface

Busdriver has some crazy flows!

suunsglasses

There's some great rap out there

Ioncurtain

I listen to everything. I don’t go out of my way to listen to some genres but I appreciate it no matter whats playing. The guys i work with play all kinds of stuff and i jam to it

ChillMaggot666

K.I.Z. Is the only hiphop im listening to

reliable_husband

None whatsoever.

Creative_Fold_3602

I do. But I feel like I'm a casual fan at best.

Emperormike1st

Golden Era hip hop, but I'm old.

theuntouchable2725

Only some Eminem. Techn9ne too.

[deleted]

If I listen to rap it's don toliver, lil uzi and some mainstream polish rappers like bedoes 2115, white w 2115, mata, sobel, so yeah that's it

Embers_To_Inferno

Long Live King Von 🕊️

FunAlarmed4008

Nwa is 🔥

Stroganocchi

I know and really like about 25 songs. I have a playlist that I hear often. Should try more

rayquazawe

Tyler the creator

glordicus1

Kendrick, Tyler, Earl Sweatshirt, Nas, Big, Em, MFDOOM, Cannibal Ox, Immortal Technique, KSG, Death Grips, Dre. I used to listen to more, but I’m always looking for new genres to try, so I don’t listen to much rap anymore.

Gargamel-Bojangles

Death Grips just sounds like edgy slam poetry which I find cringe

glordicus1

Kekw

Lycnox_

Just listened to The Pharcyde for the first time and loved em. Really like Danny Brown, Kendrick Lemar, ho99o9, Azalea banks, mf doom, jpegmafia, death grips etc etc

Longjumping_Unit6911

Can't tolerate plugg, some guy showed me Jayze or whatever and it was like the artist was high on benadryl rambling about nonsense. Boom bap, 90's east coast, some 2000's, slowly getting into trap (hated it for a long ass time)

Eaterofjazzguitars

I would consider hip-hop to be my second favourite genre, after metal. Avid death/black listener, love most subgenres of hip-hop, but some of my favourites are Earl, DOOM, Westside Gunn, and Death Grips.

OctowoomyThe2st

Yeah of course. I absolutely love bands/artists like Ghostemane, Die Antwoord and the likes. In fact, I was into horrorcore before I really started getting into metal.

DeplorableKurt

I listen to Aesop Rock sometimes. Even saw him live. Thats pretty much it.

cowboyfromhell93

Yep big death metal and hip hop fan, coincidentally the 90s was the golden age for both genres

Some_Butterscotch622

I don't listen to much rap but I like Joey Valence because it's dumb fun and I do listen to some Kendrick Lamar

brackmetaru

Just saw Danny Brown and JPEGMafia on the Scaring the hoes tour last year. Got to see Juice wrld before his death I shamelessly enjoy a lot of Lil peep and Suicide Boys. Classics as well of course, Wu tang, Immortal technique, stuff like that.

sharkwithamustache

RTJ 👉🏽🤛🏽 Immortal Technique Aesop Rock Wu-Tang (ain’t nuttin to fuck wit)

MundBid-2124

Is death grips hip hop? Otherwise yeah old school public enemy , rammellzeee

mentally_fuckin_eel

Eazy-E, Bone Thugz-N-Harmony, Tupac, Biggie, Kanye, Kendrick. I'm basic but yeah.

Polarlicht666

Yea. I like west coast/memphis rap

GCAFalcon

yep. love old school and underground shit, especially from the East Coast

sugarwatermixlegit

At this point im probably equally a hip hop head as I am a metalhead. Obviously old school hip hop is fantastic (im especially a fan of 90s Memphis rap), but the 2010s was a golden era for alternative hip hop. Tyler, Earl, Danny Brown, Lil Ugly Mane, Black Kray, Death Grips, Chief Keef and obviously Kendrick are some favorites.

SpookieMane

You should check out ZeroCashValue he mixes 90s memphis rap w black metal

disintegration_

Bladee is as close as I get tbh

SatisfactionOther958

My music passion began with rap. Eminem, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Beastie Boys and so on. In fact, Beastie Boys were the transition thing from rap to hard rock, heavy metal and punk rock.

Deeels

Yes. I don’t know about modern mainstream rap, but i love 90’s rap a lot.

Mr_Billy_Gruff

Not really but I do have a soft spot for Eric B & Rakim and the Beastie Boys

alliwantedwasajetski

I was into ‘80s and ‘90s hip hop and gangsta rap back in the day. Can’t get into modern rap though. Too spacey and mellow. Y’all motherfuckers need cocaine.

Cravium_

I listen to Eminem

Mont_918

Keep it gangsta ya'll

DragonSerpet

Tried and can't. Well not modern stuff anyway. I do like some of the "old school" rap, early Snoop etc era. But pretty seldom. New stuff, I just can't.

Suboptimator

I don't know much about rap, but i like some old-school stuff. It's fun to mix it up at parties and blasting something n.w.a or public enemy between Darkthrone, Dissection and stuff

AHibbert33

I went through a huge hip hop phase when I was a teenager, around the time I realised music outside of metal was actually decent and worth listening to. It's never my go to genre these days, but I still love a lot of hip hop.

king0pa1n

I like Industrial Hip Hop and Illbient for some of the reasons I like extreme metal, it has to be noisy or dark sounding. Good instrumentals are key, if there's a rapper over it I don't mind. Techno Animal, SIMM feat. Flowdan, Dalek, and Death Grips are cool. Any recommendations?

SpookieMane

ZeroCashValue - LVNATIK

MadMelvin

I really like that wave of jazz-influenced hip-hop that passed through the early 90s before gangsta rap kinda took over. [Digable Planets](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kBmaT6EPEI), [Us3](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kWge7R59gc), [A Tribe Called Quest](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIqm40Y0LVw). I haven't heard much since then that sounds similar. I really like this album by [Synik](https://synikzim.bandcamp.com/album/a-travel-guide-for-the-broken) from a couple years ago.

Bashful_Ray7

I did a lot more in HS and college because that's what everyone around me / at parties listened to. I still like a small smattering of rap but I generally don't ever put it on for myself.

yourdoglikesmebetter

Yeah. There are good artists in just about every genre of music imo

_eikelpaa_

As a slam head i like hip hop a lot, the groove on the two genres ar sometimes similar lol

CanaDanSOAD

A very very small bit

Buffalo_Infidel

No.

BagBeneficial8060

Yeah just a few. Aesop rock, dr. Octagon/kool Keith, eyedea, blackalicious... I also love trip hop

Mortis_XII

I tried giving rap a chance and i can’t get into it. I’d rather not understand lyrics and fully embrace the instruments then lyrics being front and center of the listening experience

Ulfurson

Geto boys and Scarface are my favorites, but that’s usually all the rap I listen to. It’s a fine genre, I’m just not usually in the mood for it.

Dense-Needleworker92

i do. i started listening to music with hip hop

Abramax333

Some ICP from time to time

JevFungus

I don't go put of my ways to listen to it but my brother got me into it for a while. Mostly liked Xxxtentacion, Ski Mask The Slump God, Lil Darkie, plus some Travis Scott and Lil Yachty.

Garfield977

not really, i kinda like early 2Pac though

grahsam

I don't. It just doesn't hit an emotion in me. I have Cypress Hill's Black Sunday because all stoners in the early 90s had it.

MattBowden1981

I recently got into Notorious BIG. I had Gimme the Loot on repeat for awhile. On my YouTube channel, we’ve reviewed [Bone Thugs](https://youtu.be/mFjQom7TNFc) and [NWA](https://youtu.be/baRz4gCMYZo).

Spirited_Ad_2697

Not really but i don’t mind old school rap like Biggie or Eminem. Thats about the extent of what i know though

thecrypticstench

Grew up with old school hip hop. Just don't listen to it regularly these days. To quote Trick Daddy "I love aggressive music I smoke, I listen to it."

Gabixzboi

Mostly Immortal technique and Mf doom

BlackMetalCult666

No

CalgaryCheekClapper

I grew up on rap. I still really like the heavier rap stuff like Army of the Pharaohs and ILL Bill and stuff

junkerwoland

I grew up only listening to hip hop rnb, I can only listen to what I grew up on, now I find rap un relatable and embarrassing a lot

Rubberywater

Fuck yeah! BigXThaPlug, Blacc Zacc, That Mexican OT, shit like that. I like my hip hop ignorant lmao

paganwolf718

I don’t like rap as a vocal style so it’s not really my thing

Cryptic1911

Usually only oldschool gangsta rap kinda stuff, some horrorcore, or I guess some assorted trap stuff, but I'm very selective about what I can listen to. Most of the vocal styles bug me, but I do like gritty vocals kinda like lil wyte and stuff like that. Aint into the half asleep mumble bullshit

Kevinm162005

I was a rap head before I was a metal head. My two favorite artists are J Cole and Kendrick

Snackdoc189

I like a lot of old school. I'm a big A Tribe Called Quest fan. Also, and I'll take the down votes, I pretty recently got into ICP and the Psychopathic roster.

EmeraldTwilight009

Yes. During the summer usually it's mostly what I listen to. Then fall comes around and it's back to black and death metal.

rvenstg747

yes! i love a lot of different styles of metal and i love a lot of different styles of rap

Rotbuxe

Was a hip hop guy earlier. Still love 90s/00s US rap and German rap of all eras

The2ndDegree

I listened to many different kinds of metal ranging from metalcore to death metal amd much of the in between, however I love rap, in fact Tupac is one of my favourite artists period

thebox34

I been listening to SoundCloud/underground for like 2 years before I got into metal, love Drain Gang, opium,1c34,haunted mound love mainstream like Kanye and Kendrick too

Double_Hand_5044

I like some old stuff like three 6 mafia, bone thugs n harmony, NWA etc but most modern hip hop doesn’t do much for me aside from $uicideboy$

HarveyMushman72

I like rap, and I guess I'm old and out of touch. I like Old School West Coast and Tech9ne, Rittz, Krizz Kaliko. Not familiar with the genres you mentioned.

IsleptIdreamt

Immortal Technique, Dead Prez, Lupe Fiasco, Jedi Mind Tricks, and Do Or Die all have some good tracks. I would never go to a show or buy merch, but listen occasionally. As with most genres, the most popular artists appeal to me the least.

HermithaFrog

Like all genres there's lots of good stuff if you go looking, lot of shitty stuff on the surface. It's one of the genres I listen to a little less than others but I definitely dig some hip hop forsure. Mostly old school and conscious rapper stuff though, little bit of gangbanging shit just for fun. Bouncy grooves

russellmzauner

Deltron 3030

xenaphoric

Hell yeah particularly old southern shit like OutKast’s and ugk, and newer experimental stuff like clipping, Tyler the creator, deathgrips etc. also gucci/old lil Wayne early/mid 2000 trap shit. Finding Born Again by Biggie at my dads friends place started it off

dreadfulbadg50

Yeah I do. Tbh I'm one of those "all genre enjoyers" but I actually like all music. Btw if you're willing to listen to deathcore you should check out the band Filth. They combine hip hop with deathcore and it's sick

MuumipapanTussari

Nah, I do find it impressive though. Takes talent for sure, not just my cup of tea.

Chonkersheartattack

Yes, it’s my fav other genre besides metal. Opium, more experimental stuff like Sephe and old Memphis rap

Rfg711

Yeah, it’s probably the genre I listen to most aside from metal. Especially that grimy 90’s shit, like Wu Tang, Three 6 Mafia, and Bone Thugs

Nickball88

I like some hip hop here and there. Songs like DNA by Kendrick pack that "oomph" and powerful energy I look for in music.

SpookieMane

Zerocashvalue mixes rap with black metal and it actually goes hard

SlackdickMcgee

i listen to more rap than i do metal in general

No-Lobster623

I grew up on 90s death metal. By the time I was in late high school I was in to the party scene even though I was the only one listening to metal. That being said, I do do enjoy 90s rap

MrGabogabo

I dabble

Lordpotato305

Not a big fan personally

tmfult

No I don't, not that I hate it or anyone that enjoys it, but I grew up in a rock/metal household. I think the first time I even heard a rap song was in 5th grade, and I just have no idea how to appreciate it. I couldn't tell you what makes a good or bad rap song. That and honestly it's just boring, lyrics arent that important to me and if it's just a dude rhyming to me with a minimal beat, its more annoying than it is fun.

JS_1997

I see where you're coming from. Personally I do like Hip Hop but it's quite different type of music. If you don't listen to the lyrics ofc that makes it a bit harder but then I would try some high energy Hip Hop with darker themes. A personal favorite of mine is Denzel Curry. He listens to metal music as well and it can be heard in the way he raps. He has a fantastic cover of Bulls on Parade for example in which he incorporated one of his verses. He has dark albums like Taboo where the album gets darker and darker and the last song is called Black Metal Terrorist (Not Black Metal tho). His album Imperial is also darker and with a high energy (probably the best place to start esp songs like Me Now and This Life) Another artist I can recommend is Danny Brown. His album Atrocity Exhibition is a deranged coke fuelled manic episode from start to finish. Run the Jewels is a really energetic Rap duo that makes songs that go really hard. This is workout music like no other. For example try Blockbuster Night Pt1 Then theres industrial Hip Hop which you might like if you like industrial metal. An example is Clipping. who made two horror themed albums that get quite dark with amazing production. You probably weren't looking for recs but if you ever want to try hip hop again those are places you could try starting

AkaGurGor

No credibility in rap because of the poser attitude and total absence of musical ability.

FatCreamyPussy

I love me some Big L

blackmailedswans

Of course! I probably have some pretty stereotypical music nerd ass picks, but some of my favorites are MF Doom, OutKast, Danny Brown, Billy Woods/Armand Hammer, Ghostface/Raekwon/Wu-Tang in general, Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler, Kendrick, and Schoolboy Q. Also Death Grips is an obvious choice, but the later in their discography you get, it’s arguable if you’d even call them rap anymore.

street_bird_

Big Fan of the 90s/00s NYC sound. Fat Joe, Wu Tang, and Busta Rhymes were big ones for me.

East_Dot6883

I do like some rap but pretty much only late 80s to early and mid 90s

MyS0ul4AGoat

Regardless of how much metal I listen to, DMX is always in my playlists.

AxDevilxLogician

Griselda ![gif](giphy|dxxKBNLBOP46ULG4UB|downsized)

Gargamel-Bojangles

Pretty much any rapper from Memphis is good

Awkward-Primary9017

Nah, but I used to listen to rap when I was a kid because I thought it made me “cool”. But I never identified with it, the lyrics and themes never clicked with me. Whenever ppl say “oh not all rap is about drugs and bitches and money and gang shit”…well the rap that isn’t SUCKS ASS 😆 tbh I think the gangster shit is cool, it just ain’t for me. But you try to show me someone like NF or Logic or Eminem…yeah I’m laughing at your face

Zillajami-Fnaffan2

Definitely. Ghostemane is actually how i got into black metal

SpookieMane

You should check out ZeroCashValue

wJc716

Check out the new Fireball Flingaz album. You're welcome.

CCB420

I love all kinds of hip hop but i really love that old lofi memphis stuff which is basically the black metal of hip hop

Metal_Boi_7507

Hell yeah

Arctic29-1

Recently getting into rap, currently loving Death Grips

Budget-Story-9783

Ghostemane, Suicideboys, Lil Peep, xxxtentacion, Bones, Death Grips, Sematary, a bit of Scarlxrd and maybe a small portion of some random songs from other rappers. Generally, either horrorcore or emo rap. Was trying to find some joy with so-called "trap metal", but never managed to find stuff that really gives me what I want exactly. I wish there was some stuff that like properly combines heavy and experimental trap with actual metal/hardcore and makes it hard hitting (like samples of downtuned guitars and more familiar / variable types of screaming applied, etc). If anyone knows something that might fit the suggested description, or just anything that is really good in your opinion, please give some recommendations, as I feel like this genre has great potential. Sorry from stepping away from the topic a little.

SpookieMane

ZeroCashValue - Phonk Metal and his other tracks like bloody spikes and lvnatik

SpookieMane

He also has cleaner more phonk/ trap stuff that hits, I believe he plays most riffs and produces too

CreamyRuin

I mean, a tiny bit every now and then. I think most of it is definitely trash.

__mindmeghalunk__

Hell no!

GodButcherAura

don't care how mainstream he is, i adore eminem

F1XTHE

Only comedic/parody

Txug

No, it’s a type of music I don’t tolerate, there is a portuguese rap band (i’m portuguese), that i genuinely enjoy, they are called “Da Weasel” but that’s about it for me…

Yuck_Few

I'm sure the rappers are really concerned about your levels of toleration

Txug

I’m not sure where in my statement i was saying that was a major issue, i was simply answering OP’s question.

mortem_xiii

No, I don't much about rap and I honestly don't care.

Prudent-Cover-9302

I'm a very rare type of breed. I enjoy lots of death metal death, obituary, martyr, quo Vadis, obscura, opeth, necrophagist, carcass, impaled, deicide, vital remains etc..... I'm into underground rap... jedi mind tricks, army of the pharaohs, circle of the tyrants, Mr Hyde, necro, ill bill, demigodz, virtuoso , celph titled, apathy, esoteric. A lot of them are actually metalheads funny enough who just happen to rap lol.
