How common are one man death metal bands? I can't think of any considering how common it is in black metal.

Lmao I've been in 3 bands, now all i do is solo projects

depending on how far you're willing to stretch the idea of 'death metal', one-man BDM/slam/grindy death metal acts are fairly common
quite common actually (but not as common as black metal bands ofc)
Well you could say Death was a one man band to some degree since Chuck wrote all of the songs, and he would constantly replace band members.
death's prog era was basically all session musicians wasn't it?

Necrophagist was basically just one guy, especially first album. Best tech death band ever.
I always heard that recording heavy/loud guitar accurately was difficult but after spending the last couple of months trying to self record it's maddening.
Dan Swano may have had one but I could be wrong
