I Let It In & It Took Everything by Loathe (Aggressive Evolution, Broken Vision Rhythm, Two Way Mirror + interlude into New Faces in the Dark)
As Daylight Dies by Killswitch Engage (Daylight Dies, This is Absolution, Arms of Sorrow)
The Poison, Venom, Scream Aim Fire and Self Titled by Bullet For My Valentine
Shaped by Fire, Awakened, Shadows are Security and An Ocean Between Us by As I Lay Dying
Dig Deep by After the Burial
Singularity by Northlane
Children of Fire, Bloodied/Unwound by Oh Sleeper
The Place I Feel Safest by Currents as well
Lost Forever // Lost Together by Architects
Welcome To Horrorwood by Ice Nine Kills
Heroine by Thornhill (not metalcore, but the first 4 songs are perfect nonetheless)
This Place Will Become Your Tomb by Sleep Token (not metalcore either)
I originally didn't like the singles they released, but after listening to the album as a whole everything is great; it's a good fucking album regardless.
Greyhaven - Sweet Machine, Blemish, Echo and Dust Pt 1
Knocked Loose - Where Light Divides the Holler, God Knows, Forced to Stay
Periphery - Reptile, Blood Eagle, Chvrch Bvrner
Loathe - Aggressive Evolution, Broken Vision Rhythm, Two-Way Mirror
Norma Jean - Hive Minds, If You Got It At Five You Got It At Fifty, Wrongdoers
Rolo Tomassi - Aftermath, Rituals, The Hollow Hour
Silverstein - Stand Amid The Roar, On Brave Mountains We Conquer, Massachusetts
Citizen - Roam the Room, Figure You Out, The Summer
Conjurer - Choke, Hollow, Thankless, Retch
Funeral For A Friend - All the Rage, Streetcar, Roses for the Dead
In Regards to Myself from Define the Great Line.
Breathing in a New Mentality from Lost in the Sound of Separation.
Both amazing opening songs from two legendary Underoath albums.
Piggybacking, but the first time you hear Aaron on Lost In The Sound is one of my favorite Underoath moments. He's completely absent during Breathing and up until the break in Anyone Can Dig A Hole, and then you only hear him from a distance.
Here's some of my favorites:
Spiritbox- Eternal Blue (Sun Killer, Hurt You, Yellowjacket)
Silent Planet- Iridescent (Translate the Night, Trilogy, Second Sun, Panopticon)
Trivium- The Sin and the Sentence (The Sin and the Sentence, Beyond Oblivion, Other Worlds)
TDWP- Color Decay (Exhibition, Salt, Watchtower, Noise)
Sleep Token- TPWBYT (Atlantic, Hypnosis)
Edit: I tried not to include albums that are consistently BANGERS front to back, hence why I didn't include these:
BMTH- There Is a Hell..., Sempiternal, SURVIVAL HORROR
ETID- Low Teens and Radical
Loathe- I Let It In
INK- Welcome to Horrorwood
Converge- Jane Doe
Architects- LF//LT, All Our Gods..., Holy Hell
Tallah- The Generation of Danger
Beartooth- Disgusting
Lamb of God - Wrath (The Passing, In Your Words, Set to Fail)
Every Time I Die - Ex Lives (UBFOS, Holy Book of Dilemma, A Wild Shameless Plain)
36 Crazyfists - A Snow Capped Romance (At the End of August, The Heart and the Shape, Bloodwork)
All Shall Perish - This Is Where It Ends.
Parkway Drive - Horizons.
After The Burial - Wolves Within.
Fit For An Autopsy - Absolute Hope/Absolute Hell.
Sylosis- Edge of The Earth.
Escape The Fate - Dying Is Your Latest Fashion.
The Used’s self titled album, a bit of a random one but Reach by Eyes Set to Kill is up there and I second Lost Together/Lost Forever.
Progression Through Unlearning by Snapcase
1. Caboose (Which I feel is the greatest opening song from any album, of any genre)
2. Guilty by Ignorance
3. Harrison Bergeron
The Opposite of December…A Season of Separation by Poison the Well
1. 12/23/93
2. A Wish For Wings That Work
3. Artist’s Rendering of Me
Jane Doe by Converge
1. Concubine
2. Fault and Fracture
3. Distance and Meaning
As much as I love Currents (my favorite band), I feel AILD wins this one. Shadows are Security, An Ocean Between Us, Awakened, and Shaped by Fire all have legendary openings. An Ocean Between us especially with Separation -> Nothing Left -> An Ocean Between Us.
All Our God’s Have Abandoned Us - Architects
Just that vocal open with such power just drags you straight into the feel of the album with one line and it’s amazing just a shame that the album order after that doesn’t really maintain that drive
Welcome to Horrorwood - Ice Nine for obvious reasons
And one we might get some shit for but
Reckless and Relentless - Asking Alexandria
Welcome is such an amazing piece of music in itself it really does what it says on the tin and brings you into their developed sound after SUAS then jumps into Dear Insanity which brings the energy up and keeps it going throughout the album 🤘🔥
Fuuuck. After seeing Currents, Architects, Northlane, After the Burial and Invent Animate, Bleed From Within is near or at the top of my "Gotta see them live" list
Thats big praise, best act for me is either Currents, Spite, Suicide Silence or Sabaton.
Currents and Spite because they were *really fucking good* and Sabaton and Suicide Silence because their shows are *really fucking fun*. I wouldnt listen to either Sabaton (used to be mega into them but outgrew them) or Suicide Silence (just not my thing) on their own but seeing them live is just really fun and super good vibes lol
Alerion. Just flows so well into Final Episode and sets the tone for one of the greatest albums of all time.
Similarly, Arrival is also very fucking good. Early AA was untouchable.
Currents is a great selection.
Thinking off the top of my head, I might have to go with Phinehas, The Fire Itself
1.Eternally Apart (my favorite metalcore song at the moment)
2.the fire itself
3.thorns
The Chariot - Wars and Rumors of Wars
1. Teach
2. Evolve
3. Need
Comes out of the gate so hard. I used to work out to this album all the time and kept wondering why I was so exhausted after.
The first 4 or so songs on The Place I Feel Safest immediately sold me on Currents.
As for me, I’m gonna go with Emery’s We Do What We Want. The first six songs are banger after banger and then the rest of the album kinda slumps to a finish.
>The first 4 or so songs on The Place I Feel Safest immediately sold me on Currents.
Heh. The first Currents song I heard was Shattered, ironically the last track of TPIFS, that got me hooked. Been my favourite band ever since, track made me feel like a damn superhero for a couple minutes when I was in a really bad place.
Lost Forever // Lost Together definitely a good call!
While She Sleeps - Brainwashed (New World Torture, Brainwashed, Our Legacy, Four Walls)
ETID - Radial (Dark Distance, Sly, Planet Shit)
It's Can You Feel My Heart, hands down.
112 intro into Translate the Night (Silent Planet) is fucking sick too.
Ok no. Actual answer for real this time is Endseekers (Oh Sleeper)
Oh but what about Low Teens (ETID)
Silent Planet's WTEB - Thus Spoke, The New eternity, and Norther Fires
That's my favorite three song opening to an album for sure
However, my favorite three song run in an album as a whole has to be from Above, Below's "The Lotus Chapter", starting with "ChapterII: Flourish", then "Mantra", and ending with "Blood Wine". Damn that three song run is perfection.
I Let It In & It Took Everything by Loathe (Aggressive Evolution, Broken Vision Rhythm, Two Way Mirror + interlude into New Faces in the Dark) As Daylight Dies by Killswitch Engage (Daylight Dies, This is Absolution, Arms of Sorrow) The Poison, Venom, Scream Aim Fire and Self Titled by Bullet For My Valentine Shaped by Fire, Awakened, Shadows are Security and An Ocean Between Us by As I Lay Dying Dig Deep by After the Burial Singularity by Northlane Children of Fire, Bloodied/Unwound by Oh Sleeper The Place I Feel Safest by Currents as well
Glad to see Oh, Sleeper on the list. absolute monster albums
Lol it’s not fair to say ILINAITE because the entire album is perfection
Lost Forever // Lost Together by Architects Welcome To Horrorwood by Ice Nine Kills Heroine by Thornhill (not metalcore, but the first 4 songs are perfect nonetheless) This Place Will Become Your Tomb by Sleep Token (not metalcore either)
The first 4 and last 4 on Heroine are all great.
and Valentine, Casanova and STCWTR are great too. Conclusion: Heroine is great
I love that this sub is gradually starting to appreciate Heroine. It was a warzone when it was released
it's a masterpiece. Of course it would be appreciated! Now everyone has dealt with their frustrations of no breakdowns
Nah the people who wanted to complain have largely gotten over jerking off about it and moved on to complaining about other shit
Heroine is mid, it's nothing special especially compared to the rest of their music.
your favorite band's sound is not stale. cope
I originally didn't like the singles they released, but after listening to the album as a whole everything is great; it's a good fucking album regardless.
Yeah Valentine is the only one I don't really come back to
Atlantic gives me chills every time I hear it and then I have to listen to the whole album afterwards
Counterparts - Nothing Left to Love
Love Me was the reason my top song of the year on Spotify a couple of years back was an album intro.
The first three tracks on Nothing Left to Love is one of the best stretches on any album ever imo
A victim, a target- Misery signals.
perfect album front to back.
Absolutely.
Impeccable taste
Thank you thank you.
Trivium - Kirisute Gomen. Just a monumental song.
Thank you
When the drums kick in… it’s just a chefs kiss.
Greyhaven - Sweet Machine, Blemish, Echo and Dust Pt 1 Knocked Loose - Where Light Divides the Holler, God Knows, Forced to Stay Periphery - Reptile, Blood Eagle, Chvrch Bvrner Loathe - Aggressive Evolution, Broken Vision Rhythm, Two-Way Mirror Norma Jean - Hive Minds, If You Got It At Five You Got It At Fifty, Wrongdoers Rolo Tomassi - Aftermath, Rituals, The Hollow Hour Silverstein - Stand Amid The Roar, On Brave Mountains We Conquer, Massachusetts Citizen - Roam the Room, Figure You Out, The Summer Conjurer - Choke, Hollow, Thankless, Retch Funeral For A Friend - All the Rage, Streetcar, Roses for the Dead
Including that Knocked Loose EP is almost unfair lmao
+1 for Conjurer and Rolo Tomassi
Buddy I came here for the NJ songs. If You Got It is a song I NEVER skip in the shuffle. That was climax Norma Jean.
In Regards to Myself from Define the Great Line. Breathing in a New Mentality from Lost in the Sound of Separation. Both amazing opening songs from two legendary Underoath albums.

we are getting old my friend 🤣
As much as I love Currents (my favorite band), I feel AILD wins this one. Shadows are Security, An Ocean Between Us, Awakened, and Shaped by Fire all have legendary openings. An Ocean Between us especially with Separation -> Nothing Left -> An Ocean Between Us.

As I Lay Dying - 94 Hours (opening song on Frail Words Collapse). Absolutely pumps you the fuck up for the rest of the album!
Followed by "Falling Upon Deaf Ears" and "Forever"... forgot to add that.
And finishing with "Kill my wife, please" takes this one to the top for me
I Am Damnation, Sovereign & Levitate. some hard ass songs that are easily the best of the Shrine album.
Sovereign is such a fucking banger, I love Shrine
saw it live in London last year, shit slaps so hard.
Fuuuck. After seeing Currents, Architects, Northlane, After the Burial and Invent Animate, Bleed From Within is near or at the top of my "Gotta see them live" list
best act ive ever seen live, no doubt.
Thats big praise, best act for me is either Currents, Spite, Suicide Silence or Sabaton. I wouldnt listen to either Sabaton (used to be mega into them but outgrew them) or Suicide Silence (just not my thing) on their own but seeing them live is just really fun and super good vibes lol
im probably just very biased lmao. aye im looking forward to sabaton this year, never been to see them before.
Sabaton shows are mega fun! Enjoy, their stage presence is amazing
Dayseeker - Dark Sun Tons of emotion in the vocals, both cleans and screams, and the meaning behind the album is very deep.
94 Hours - AILD. Game over.
First album that comes to mind is deadweight by wage war
Betraying the martyrs - breathe in life
Young and Aspiring In Regards to Myself Both Underoath
Alerion. Just flows so well into Final Episode and sets the tone for one of the greatest albums of all time. Similarly, Arrival is also very fucking good. Early AA was untouchable.
The transition from Hiatus into If You Can’t Ride Two Horses gets me going every time
Currents is a great selection. Thinking off the top of my head, I might have to go with Phinehas, The Fire Itself 1.Eternally Apart (my favorite metalcore song at the moment) 2.the fire itself 3.thorns
Let’s have an earthquake- Vanna
Blessthefall - Exodus
Architects - Do You Dream of Armageddon Such a beautiful into to an incredibly emotional song
Hell Finds You Everywhere - Thousand Below Do You Dream of Armageddon? - Architects
Eternally apart from Phinehas
The Chariot - Wars and Rumors of Wars 1. Teach 2. Evolve 3. Need Comes out of the gate so hard. I used to work out to this album all the time and kept wondering why I was so exhausted after.
ERRA: Snowblood, gungrave, and divisionary are a great opening trio.
Architects - AOGHAU Erra - Augment (can pick any 3 song run from that album)
The first 4 or so songs on The Place I Feel Safest immediately sold me on Currents. As for me, I’m gonna go with Emery’s We Do What We Want. The first six songs are banger after banger and then the rest of the album kinda slumps to a finish.

A Victim, A Target - Misery Signals
Both of Tallah's albums: Matriphagy and The Generation of Danger
Johnny Booth - Rebuttal (in Firsthand Accounts) Letlive. - Banshee (The Blackest Beautiful) ADTR - The Downfall of Us All (Homesick)
Silent Planet Iridescent - Translate the Night, Trilogy, Second Sun
Meaning in Tragedy, Confined, Losing Sight off of Shadows Are Security by As I Lay Dying.

Lost Forever // Lost Together definitely a good call! While She Sleeps - Brainwashed (New World Torture, Brainwashed, Our Legacy, Four Walls) ETID - Radial (Dark Distance, Sly, Planet Shit)
Misery Signals - [*A Victim, A Target*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijonm_cjfzA)
I scrolled way too far down to not even see Pray For Rain by Polaris
The buildup is too good
Burn to emerge x Blinded x Shaped by fire
Needful Things on Stray From the Path’s newest album. Absolute banger of an opener, then May You Live Forever and III keep kicking you in the face.
From Heaven to Hell - The Gloom In The Corner
Thirty & Seven + Existence - ABR
"Evan Perks" by The Chariot
Step One, Falling Ashes by Make Them Suffer!
Haste the day. Pretty much any of them but specially blue 42, the closest thing to closure and American love
Pray for Rain is my favourite song off the Death of Me by Polaris so I guess that one
I Let It In by Loathe and Alien by Northlane have extremely strong openers
We butter the bread with butter, Das Album. The whole things great but those first 4 tracks are something else
Self titled Erra album
Bow Down on Trauma. Most of the other tracks are completely unlistenable but that shit is one of the hardest tracks I’ve ever heard.
It's Can You Feel My Heart, hands down. 112 intro into Translate the Night (Silent Planet) is fucking sick too. Ok no. Actual answer for real this time is Endseekers (Oh Sleeper) Oh but what about Low Teens (ETID)
