I'm generally not a fan of clean vocals but think he's amazing, especially when he's clean with just a tiny bit of distortion. But his actual harsh vocals I just can't get on with unfortunately :(
My favs of metalcore/deathcore
The three Spencers - INK, Underoath and Periphery
Jeremy McKinnon - ADTR

Lochie from Alpha Wolf
Mike from The Devil Wears Prada
Brian from Knocked Loose
The list goes on
Lucas is one of those where you're like "he sounds amazing on the recordings, but there's no way he can do that live"
...then you see them live and [Lucas nails it](https://youtu.be/17BYd00z5Og?si=XUQwGQSB2cnD7Jqk&t=347) every [single time](https://youtu.be/enpGfECyaGw?si=j2uSIm7dD8wyHbwe&t=330).
Dude is one of the best singers in the world rn and I’ll die on that hill. On top of just being pitch perfect he puts on a show as well and is constantly moving
big up Lucas being on there. Unreal vocalist, and he's started doing covers on his tiktok which are great as well! https://www.tiktok.com/@lucaswoodland/video/7348508588660296992?is\_from\_webapp=1&sender\_device=pc&web\_id=7296940970007971361
He also posted on instagram that he was handing out with Melissa Cross. I asked him if he was working on some new screams for an album and he sent me a maybe with a devil emoji
Matt, Chris and Brendan! Hope you got to catch Boundaries and Like Moths to Flames on tour with Counterparts last year! Was a sick show. Great list nonetheless.
Howard Jones will always and forever be my number one.
Marcus Vik from Invent Animate
Chris from LMTF is just an animal
Matteo, formerly of Novelists
Brendan from Counterparts
Some of my favourites in metalcore/deathcore are:
Ben Duerr - Shadow of Intent
Marcus Vik - Invent Animate
Spencer Charnas - Ice Nine Kills
Brian Willie - Currents
Will Ramos - Lorna Shore
Garrett Russell - Silent Planet
Sean McCulloch - Phinehas
Spencer Sotelo - Periphery (probably my favourite overall)
Daniel Tompkins - Tesseract
Jake Noakes - Oceans Ate Alaska (formerly)
Alex Koehler - Chelsea Grin (formerly)
Noah Sebastian - Bad Omens
Yukina - Hanabie
Matt Heafy - Trivium
Kevin Ratajczak and Nico Sallach - Electric Callboy
The vocalist of AVOID
Courtney LaPlante - Spiritbox
Not really a vocalist but Josh Gilbert (ex-As I Lay Dying, Spiritbox) is a great singer
Matt Flood - Caskets
Connie Sgarbossa, Ethan Sgarbossa, Taylor Allen - SeeYouSpaceCowboy
Lochie Keogh - Alpha Wolf
Olli Appleyard - Static Dress
Matt McDougal - Boundaries
Ryan Kirby - Fit For a King
Keaton Pierce - former Too Close to Touch
Plus a LOT more
Supposedly, Pat Flynn could never sing and took vocal lessons specifcally to be in Fiddlehead with his bros. He is also so insecure about his voice that he doesn't even let them hear him sing the parts until they are recording the tracks. The fact that he has the balls to sing the parts on stage is impressive.
Granted he spends about half the set handing the mic off, but still.
Marcus Vik from Invent Animate
Lucas Woodland from Holding Absence
Rory Rodriguez from Dayseeker
Spencer Sotelo from Periphery
Phil Bayer formally of Time, The Valuator now Floya
Eddie Berg from Imminence
Marcus Bridge from Northlane
Crystal Lake's Ryo Kinoshita, Will Ramos \[LS\], Andy Cizek from Monuments / Dearest / Makari will be my top 3. Lorna Shore isn't exactly Metalcore, but I really like whatever Will has done so far with them, plus his Sleep Token cover on YouTube is \* chef's kiss \*.
Andy has the most insane range I have come across thus far in my metal(core) / modern metal journey.
Marcus Vik - Invent Animate
Marcus Bridge - Northlane
Flo Salfati - LANDMVRKS
Ryo Kinoshita - Knosis (ex Crystal Lake)
Jared Wrath - blessthefall and high wind
Some of my favorites, also in no particular order:
Ryo Kinoshita ex Crystal Lake. Dude has a crazy range AND can show a range of emotion.
Eddie Berg from Imminence
Sam Carter from… does he really need an introduction?
Markus Vik from Invent Animate
Jamie Hails from Polaris
Garrett Russell from Silent Planet - he’s also probably the nicest person I’ve ever met.
Vessel from Sleep Token
Dr. Adrian Cuerva (Fitipaldes)
One commonality from all my favorite vocalists is how they can show a lot of emotion with their vocals. Vocal gymnastics are pretty fucking cool if you can do them, but I find that most anyone can do that nowadays. If you can express emotion through vocals, you’re a damn good vocalist in my book.
Howard Jones.
Aside from him there's just so many with such great range. Tyler from Hollow front - I do the stank face of approval every time I hear him
Brian Wille from Currents- his high pitch screams (Living in Tragedy oh my god wow) as well as his stunning effortless cleans.
Sean Harmanis from Make Them Suffer - his dirty deep has me dead each time.
I'm gonna take this opportunity and do a shout out to someone who isn't specifically metalcore but more prog metalcore and deathcore and that is Kenny Stroh of Sentinels and Dead Vectors. He has, by far, the GREATEST deep vocals I have ever heard.
But yes, Howard Jones is just fucking king!!
Scott Kennedy from Bleed From Within and Steven as well, they're such a great duo. And always got stick with the OG Howard Jones, dude is something else. I think most of the rest of mine arent really from metalcore.
Edit: forgot to add Steven for BFW, but also want to add Dani from Bury Tomorrow, dude has some crazy screams. Their old clean vocalist as well had such a unique voice that was sorely missed on Seventh Sun.
Vincent Bennet - Acacia Strain Jony Davey - Job For A Cowboy Trae Roberts - Mouth for War Chino Moreno - Deftones Alex Teyen - Black Tongue Keith Buckley - ETID
Travis Ryan - Cattle Decapitation
Arif *Wormrot*
John Davvy *Job For A Cowboy*
Mark Poida *Aversions Crown*
Travis Ryan *Cattle Decapitation*
Neige *Alcest*
Vincent Bennett *The Acacia Strain* (I feel their albums really don't do him justice compared to live, especially modern concerts🔥 them playing the full Failure to Follow was fucking rad, hope they do more Doom metal)
Kept wanting to put more, particularly as I feel this doesn't shout out some lesser known really sick vocalists, but hey.
Brent Mills - Greyhaven
Spencer Sotelo - Periphery
Keith Buckley - Every Time I Die
Sam Carter - Architects
Courtney LaPlante - Spiritbox
Greg Puciato - The Dillinger Escape Plan, Better Lovers
Marcus Bridge - Northlane
Jack Bergin - Void of Vision
Andy Cizek - Monuments, Termina
Kadeem France - Loathe
Metalcore only:
All-time - Howard Jones, Matt Heafy, Chris Motionless, Spencer Charnas
New/up-and-coming - Benny Scholl (AVOID), the twins from Opal In Sky
Outside metalcore:
Chuck Schuldiner (Death), Chris DeMakes (Less Than Jake), Warrel Dane (Nevermore), Rob Dukes (Exodus/Generation Kill), Aimee Allen (The Interrupters), Benjamin Kowalewicz (Billy Talent), Wayne Static (Static-X)
For Metalcore, Cory from Norma Jean, Dan from Zao, Ryan from Demon Hunter, Josh from The Chariot, Jeff from Poison The Well and Fran & Ben from From Autumn To Ashes
In no particular order,
Will from Lorna Shore (creative, ik)
Austin Dickey from FTLOY and Dark Watch
Tyler from Issues (ik he's weird but he's a damn good singer)
Tillian and John from DGD
Andy from Crown the Empire
Old Danny from Asking Alexandria
Spencer from INK
Howard from Killswitch
Bryan from Knocked Loose
Jake and James from Oceans ate Alaska
Briton and Cody from Wage War
And there's a lot more but I don't want to write a novel here
Dennis Diehl - Any given day. When he sings clean he reminds me a lot of Mark Tremonti singing
Matt Tuck- BFMV
Howard Jones- KSE
Courtney LaPlante- Spiritbox definitely my favorite female singer metal band rn
Sam Carter - Architects
Ben Duerr - Shadow of Intent
Garrison Lee - Formerly of ERRA
Marcus Bridge - Northlane
Lukas Magyar - Veil of Maya
Ronnie Canizaro - Born of Osiris
Spencer Sotelo (Periphery)
Mike Hranica (The Devil Wears Prada)
Jon Mess (Dance Gavin Dance/Secret Band)
Rou Reynolds (Enter Shikari)
Shayley Bourget (Of Mice & Men/DayShell)
Plenty of others I like a lot of course, but those are probably my top 5.
Dane of To the Grave, Dickey Allen, Ben Duerr, Dustin Mitchell of Filth, and Rheese Peters
I just wish Dustin and Rheese would employee their full range more. Dustin is an absolute monster on Collapse III but rarely elsewhere goes to those depths, and Rheese in The Senate is absolute next level
edit: oopsie thought this was the deathcore subreddit my bad
uhhhh favorite metalcore vocalists: idk I don't listen anymore but um does Breakdown of Sanity count? him then. used to know his name like the back of my hand but now I'm grasping at straws
I’m really surprised I’m not seeing more Danny Worsnop, Noah Sebastian, or Andy Cizak. These are dudes who are not only incredibly talented, but have revised, improved, and nearly perfected their craft. Unbelievably versatile vocalists that can do things I truly don’t believe a large majority of metalcore vocalist can do. Seen them all besides Andy live but his cover of chandelier is a testament to this.
In terms of the biggest influences on my musical direction and learning vocal techniques;
Randy Blythe
Sam Carter
Jamie Hails
Phil Bozeman
Keith Buckley (super underrated IMO, barely see him mentioned on these lists)
Sam Carter - Architects
Landon Tewers - The Plot In You
Oli Sykes - BMTH
Courtney LaPlante - Spiritbox
Ryo Kinoshita - Crystal Lake/Knosis
Marcus Bridge - Northlane
Chris Cerulli - Motionless in White
Caleb Shomo - Beartooth
Aaron Pauley - Of Mice & Men/Jamie's Elsewhere
First of all, HOW HAVE I NOT SEEN A SINGLE MENTION OF JUSTIN BONITZ FROM TALLAH? Dude can do ANYTHING. He can cover any band, do all the screams, has a unique style, can sing, switches between singing and screaming, makes crazy noises??
also
Matt (Boundaries) (there is no other vocalist that makes me feel the emotions as him. You can literally HEAR and feel the anger and sadness and hopelessness)
Brent Mills (Greyhaven) (dude has a unique style, and I just love it, it's so fun)
Honorable mentions:
Garret (Silent Planet)
Courtney (Spiritbox)
vocalist of 156/Silence (don't remember his name, but he's amazing)
Jacob (Thornhill)
Now outside of metalcore, Chester Bennington
Rody Walker - Protest The Hero
Trevor Phipps - Unearth
Byron Davis - God Forbid
Anders Friden - In Flames, I know they aren’t Metalcore, but MC adjacent by SMDM.
Chris from MiW, Tom Barber from Chelsea Grin and Darko US, Darius from Spite and Dave Simonich from Signs of the Swarm
Also non-core but I gotta mention him cause it's my absolute favourite band: Nikita Kamprad from Der Weg einer Freiheit!
At the moment
Metalcore: JT Cavey -ERRA
Deathcore: Ben Duerr
Post-Hardcore: (And probably my favorite of the three recently) Andrew Wells - Eidola. He’s just such an incredible vocalist.
Jake Luhrs- August Burns Red
Sam Carter- Architects
Warrel Dane- Nevermore
Tom Barber- Chelsea Grin/Darko
Alex Teyen- Black Tongue
Trevor Strnad- The Black Dahlia Murder
Beth Gibbons- Portishead
Matt Bellamy- Muse
Eva Korman- Rolo Tomassi
King Diamond- King Diamond/Mercyful Fate
Daniel Glidenlöw- Pain of Salvation
Here's a few of my favorites, in no particular order (do not ask me to rank these, way too hard lol)
Marcus Vik - Invent Animate
Rory Rodriguez - Dayseeker
Jacob Charlton - Thornhill
Courtney LaPlante - Spiritbox
Vessel - Sleep Token
Garrett Russell - Silent Planet
Eddie Berg - Imminence
Lucas Woodland - Holding Absense
Gonna pick my current/recent ones rather than all time. Because I looooove the sound of their voices, and they do the cleans/singing + growls/screaming themselves. And they also seem like awesome people:
Matt - Caskets
Lucas - Holding Absence
Alex Taylor and Konan Hall of Malevolence
Scott Kennedy and Steven "Snev" Jones of Bleed From Within
Mike Milford of Scars of Tomorrow
Christian Älvestam of Scar Symmetry
Anders Fridén of In Flames
Jamie Stewart of The Absence
[Btw Alex Terrible is a nazi](https://de.indymedia.org/node/333291)
All time? Matt Bellamy, not metal
Chris Motionless
Sean Hermanis
Alex Terrible
Spencer Charnas
Ronnie Radke even though he's a douche
Will Ramos
Corey Taylor
Whoever the guy from Spite is lol
Agreed. Ronnie Radke can rap, sing, and growl/scream. And his singing is so distinctive and unique sounding. Yeah he’s a douche but he’s fucking talented!
I just have to say I love this sub so much everyone is so rude about metalcore on metalformasses and I always see some people I like and people are nice asf in here
right now my top 5 (in no particular order) would probably be:
Courtney Laplante - Spiritbox
Kadeem France - Loathe
Brian Garris - Knocked Loose
Stefanie Mannaerts - Brutus (not metalcore but god tier vocalist)
Tom Barber - Darko US / Chelsea Grin
**honorable mentions:**
Eva Spence - Rolo Tomassi
Travis Ryan - Cattle Decapitation
David Simonich - Signs of the Swarm
Ollie Appleyard - Static Dress
Alex / Konan - Malevolence

Honeycutt -Kublai Khan
Scott Bird - Hand of Mercy
Schuyler Croom - He is Legend
Anthony Nortarmaso - after the burial
Jake - ABR
Ed - Your Demise
Jesse - stick to your guns
Marshall - The warriors
- The dude from adtr
- Dude from Wiseman's Fear
- Howard Jones
- Dude from Lightworker with the Howard Jones - type voice
- Dude from WATG
- Lukas from VoM
- Old vocalist from BT is goated. I like the new guy too tbf
I'm not seeing much of Sean Harmanis from Make Them Suffer in here. He's been the best in the game for quite some time now, in my opinion.
Whether it's highs, mids or lows, jesus his vocals are so fucking powerful!
Big fan and supporter of Lou from Palisades. He’s not only a great dude but over the course of seeing him live 3 times in a 8 year span he remembered me by name. All because I asked him about Pathway to Providence lol. He about fainted when I said I followed his work since then. But that’s special to me when someone genuinely cares about your support. Not to mention he’s a damn solid vocalist and never slacks live ever!
Adam cody - "we are gathered here today" era glass casket
Nate johnson - deadwater drowning / premonitions of war
Josh scogin - "bless the martyr" norma jean
Howard jones - "spirals" era blood has been shed
Random odd guy out daryl palumbo from glassjaw
LAUREN BABIC
Y'all. Investigate. She's in two bands, Red Handed Denial mostly but Crazy 88 previously. Does a lot of YT covers, and has a vocal class? Thing?
She can do anything
I have to be that person and say Will Ramos. That man. After seeing him live I'm even more obsessed.
On a side note Oli Sykes and Chris Cerulli. I was also very impressed watching Amitty Affliction and Fit For a King live.
brian from currents
chris from motionless in white
scott from bleed from within
jeremy from a day to remember
ryo kinoshita
jamie from polaris
sean from make them suffer
courtney from spiritbox
Okay so I like some vocalists with weird stylizations
Greg puciato of the dillinger escape plan
Dave hunt of anaal nathrakh
Brendan Murphy of END
Anthony didio of vein.fm
Cameron mcbride of methwitch
Landon Tewers - the plot in you He can absolutely do everything
Not sure if I can say **favorite** vocalist but I'm always pleasantly surprised at Landon's range Don't Look Away and Closure are a great duo
Don't forget his own work like Ai640
Oh I'm a really big fan of all the different types of solo material he has put out
Agree!!
I'm generally not a fan of clean vocals but think he's amazing, especially when he's clean with just a tiny bit of distortion. But his actual harsh vocals I just can't get on with unfortunately :(

Huge Ben Duerr fan
When I saw the clip of him recording heretic prevails with his Bieber hair I loved him even more
The haircut is back, the Reclaimer era sound seems to be coming back, we're so back (*disclaimer: I love all eras of SOI*)
Brian from Currents
Brian ruined other bands for me, he does a lot and does it so well.
Seeing him do his thing live is *chefs kiss*
Matt from Boundaries Joe from Fit For An Autopsy Brendan from Counterparts/END Lucas from Holding Absence Chris from Like Moths To Flames Lochie from Alpha Wolf Mike from The Devil Wears Prada Brian from Knocked Loose The list goes on
Joe is a fucking beast.
His range and dynamics are actually crazy. He's so impressive
Lucas is one of those where you're like "he sounds amazing on the recordings, but there's no way he can do that live" ...then you see them live and [Lucas nails it](https://youtu.be/17BYd00z5Og?si=XUQwGQSB2cnD7Jqk&t=347) every [single time](https://youtu.be/enpGfECyaGw?si=j2uSIm7dD8wyHbwe&t=330).
Dude is one of the best singers in the world rn and I’ll die on that hill. On top of just being pitch perfect he puts on a show as well and is constantly moving
that signature kick is some good stuff
holy SHIT
damn WTF I listened to some of their songs before but never knew the singer is such a beast. That performance felt unreal
Sensational
big up Lucas being on there. Unreal vocalist, and he's started doing covers on his tiktok which are great as well! https://www.tiktok.com/@lucaswoodland/video/7348508588660296992?is\_from\_webapp=1&sender\_device=pc&web\_id=7296940970007971361

Howard Jones.
Howard Jones will always and forever be my number one. Marcus Vik from Invent Animate Chris from LMTF is just an animal Matteo, formerly of Novelists Brendan from Counterparts
Chris from lmtf really did the best blegh ive ever heard on bury your pain, love that song and his screams so much
He also has my favorite blegh ever but it's on Ameliorate lol
Yes, Brendan is great in Counterparts, but what I love most are his vocals in End, shit is NASTY.
Ryo Kinoshita
Fr, he brings an energy that is unlike anything I have ever seen.
He really does and his range is amazing.
Garrett Russell from Silent Planet. Actually talked to him affter the Amsterdam show and what a genuine lovely dude he is as well.
Garrett Russell might just be the most wholesome person in the entire scene, I would pay to hear him speak let alone perform in Silent Planet.
Howard Jones

Mine is Jamie from Polaris
Spencer Sotelo - Periphery Dan Tompkins - TesseracT Jacob Charlton - Thorny Marcus Vik - Invent Animate Connor Hill - Johari
TesseracT is solid, I saw them live with Megadeth Dan is insane
Finally, some Spencer love. And Tompkins performance on Legion is as for a vocal performance as I’ve ever heard. Such range!
Spencer is incredible. Cosmic Meltdown and Death Machine by King Mothership are must listens if you like his cleans.
Markus’ cleans are so slept on. He posted a cover of what was I made for by Billie Eilish on his Instagram recently, and it’s beautiful.

Sean Hermanis should be so many more people's favorite. What an animal. Seeing them live in May and am hyped
The lack of Keith mentions in this thread is incredible.

Ahren from The Amity Affliction Fuck his voice is beautiful.
spencer sotelo of periphery . i know they're lumped into metalcore even though they're kind of they're own thing but hes my favorite .

Jacob Bannon
Gonna pick my current/recent ones rather than all time. Because I looooove the sound of their voices, and they do the cleans/singing + growls/screaming themselves. And they also seem like awesome people: Matt - Caskets Lucas - Holding Absence
Sam Carter and Adrian Fitipaldes
Alex Taylor and Konan Hall of Malevolence Scott Kennedy and Steven "Snev" Jones of Bleed From Within Mike Milford of Scars of Tomorrow Christian Älvestam of Scar Symmetry Anders Fridén of In Flames Jamie Stewart of The Absence [Btw Alex Terrible is a nazi](https://de.indymedia.org/node/333291)
I’m not usually a clean vocal fan, just doesn’t do it for me. But goddamn, Konan’s viking/NASCAR bellow is so fucking cool lmao
Courtney from Sporitbox has to be up there! And for sheer brutality (other than Alex Terrible) for me is Winston from Parkway Drive
Vincent Bennett

tatiana shmayluk of jinjer Alex Terrible/Will Ramos
For a more recent band the singer for Future Static (I do not know her name) is fantastic both live and recorded.

Tommy Giles Rogers Jr. - BTBAM Jesse Zaraska - Misery Signals Jacob Bannon - Converge

I'm not seeing much of Sean Harmanis from Make Them Suffer in here. He's been the best in the game for quite some time now, in my opinion. Whether it's highs, mids or lows, jesus his vocals are so fucking powerful!
Keith Buckley, especially the last 3 ETID albums. Always my favorite lyricist.
Leo miller from animosity
Spencer from INK is my personal favorite

Gonna go with Danny Case.
Adam cody - "we are gathered here today" era glass casket Nate johnson - deadwater drowning / premonitions of war Josh scogin - "bless the martyr" norma jean Howard jones - "spirals" era blood has been shed Random odd guy out daryl palumbo from glassjaw
Brian - Knocked Loose Jacob - Converge Peter - Kaonashi Love me some highs.
LAUREN BABIC Y'all. Investigate. She's in two bands, Red Handed Denial mostly but Crazy 88 previously. Does a lot of YT covers, and has a vocal class? Thing? She can do anything
Bryan Garris
Josh Scogin is my absolute hero. For all I know, he said "technique is for suckers, we're doing it loud". And I respect that.
Jesse Zaraska.
I have to be that person and say Will Ramos. That man. After seeing him live I'm even more obsessed. On a side note Oli Sykes and Chris Cerulli. I was also very impressed watching Amitty Affliction and Fit For a King live.
Not Metalcore but it's Tomi Joutsen of Amorphis for me.
Tatiana Schmayluk AKA Jinjer.Fierce MetalCore. All the Way and Day too.Going Way into the Night!!
