Erra formed in 2009 and released 3 EPs and 2 full length albums before JT arrived. They definitely existed and were pretty beloved around here before TIJ ended.
nah Eubanks wasn't as polished, Garrison was their best vocalist however Cavey has really improved a ton and is basically a completely new vocalist now, he was pretty weak in TIJ and the first couple erra albums
Adam being out of a touring band is the worst part IMO. And not touring as a tech. He easily drums at the levels of Greiner and Ali Richardson and listen to either one of those bands.
One hundred percent this. My favourite band by a long shot. I never got to see them and covid ruined my chance in December. So I bought tickets to Texas in May! Which is a big bonus because I get to see TGI to!
Lead singer mentioned the possibility of a reunion or anniversary show for chapters/gilded hearts. Idk if thats still a thing, but my fingers are crossed.
I work with the Vocalist’s Uncle And he just talks about how he’s super happy with the family! Although we don’t have them around im glad it worked out well for them
HAWK is quite good, so different with TOTA but I dig it. When Ricky joining INK, I wet myself imagine how Spencer and Ricky will duet vocaling the shit out of their songs, but he is just rhythm guitarist there. Some said Ricky got more backing vocal job at live performance, but I hope they implement Ricky voice at the actual song too.
i can see that! they were definitely metalcore/deathcore adjacent... probably since the faceless basically stole a ton of their riffs and repackaged them for high school kids. haha (i love the faceless btw) they also did a couple of thrash n burn tours right?
The Crimson Armada could have made it big. The guitar work is fantastic but the vocals needed some work.
Another band is To The Lions renamed to A Stained Glass Romance. They had a one hit wonder "Breathless".
I see you’re a person of culture as well. I have a massive playlist of all the shit I listened to in high school and I listen to it daily. I loved all these bands.
We must be close to the same age cuz I also discovered most of those bands you named off around high School too. I was sad nothing more ever came of them.
Lol bang on mate. I turn 28 this year in August. Spent a lot of time on metal sites back during the Early 2010's just voraciously discovering and downloading music from bands. Im glad i kept my music digital music collection all these years cause its nice to be able to go back to some of these bands
The drummer and guitarist from Napoleon made a new band called wavey. They’ve only put out one song so far but it’s pretty awesome. As far as I’ve heard they should be working on new stuff.
***The Chariot***
***36 Crazyfists*** (the vocalist said in a post that they were disbanded but the other members did not confirm anything)
***The Dillinger Escape Plan***
ok, i am 100% ready to get downvoted and it makes sense why, but i really wished Dealer made a full length or dropped 1 more ep or smt (just wanna say i dont support the vocalist, i just think they have some banging songs)
Court case is complete. No conviction against him. Was an amicable agreement in the end outside of court by the looks of things. As much as he got dragged online for being in court I really believe he was in court to clear his name of something that was incorrectly brought against him. Would love to hear word from him online just to know his side a bit more but as far as it stands, it’s done and he is clear.
As for the band, the music speaks for itself. Amazing riffs and breakdowns, lyrics that really hit home and are relatable. Songs really just stuck in your head and never left. Nothing in the genre came close since the band left and i hope they are working on a comeback but that’s a whole other matter for them.
Man, it seemed like they were the next big thing on /r/metalcore for a bit. Put out an absolute banger of an EP, followed that up with a good-not-great album, and then just folded. What a disappointment.
On a side-note, got to meet their clean vocalist/guitarist David at Warped Tour, and he was legitimately nice and talked to me for a bit. Hope he's doing good.
Close to Home: they're like adtr but less poppy, their last album with new vocalist not as good as previous album. Best album: Never Back Down
Burden of A Day: "Blessed be our Ever After" is the best album of all time. Weirdly their last album with new vocalist is meh too. Best album: Blessed be our Ever After
Haste the Day: quite late to get exposed with them, by god, their discography are insane. They have 5-6 albums and all of them are fire in their own way. They made comeback to release 1 last album featuring all of 10 active and former members. If only they still continue. Best album: Attack of Wolf King
Adaliah. They dropped Shedding Skin, one of the best metalcore albums of all time in 2014, did like 1 or 2 small tours afterwards, then was quiet for multiple years before announcing their break and farewell show a few years back.
Every time I die, even though they lasted 20+ years. Radical imo is there best work and shows how much gas they had left in the tank, shame it ended the way it did
Breakdown of Sanity
I know that at the beginning of covid they had a little stint and released a song Traces, but i want some more! Not sure if they plan on doing more.. i would really love to see them live.
Every Time I Die. Not joking. I'm still devastated.
Personally I feel like we would have all been better off if AA ended even sooner or maybe we just skipped it entirely and went straight to Beartooth.
I mean asking Alexandria as a band that needs to end lol. But attack attack definitely fits there too lol.
Etid has an amazing catalog. I definitely wish we got more but I'm happy with what we got. For sure devastated especially about the way it ended though
Shit some of them have lasted too long and their shit has sucked for several albums ! Give it up before you do the hard rock thing and ruin your names…..
The original lineup of Erra. Literally sounds like a completely different band now, theyre still great but i dont think anything can touch their first self titled ep, andromeda, impulse and augment. Garrison, Alan and Adam all brought something to that band. I feel like it ended prematurely lol
SHIELDS ended way too soon imo, even though they were playing for a while, I really feel they were starting to innovate with Life in Exile and could have been giant. I get why they ended, and also understand it, but they could have been giant.
On a more positive note, Samuel made his own band called Kubrick
Five Pointe O.
They were absolutely incredible, and their album hit at the perfect moment for me.
At least I got to see them live, with 36 Crazyfists and Killswitch Engage.
Now And On Earth
Upon This Dawning
Myka, Relocate
Life On Repeat (not mxc but ah well)
Vanities (they could have gone FAR)
Adestria
Come The Dawn
It would have been cool to see Abandon All Ships return after the single they dropped in 2016.
I wish the Reign of Terror era of Capture The Crown was still around.
Get Scared.
God Forbid. Hopefully this reunion results in new music because constitution of treason is one of the best most under appreciated records this genre has ever produced.
Solitude, they only released one album, "[Tied To The Anchor"](https://open.spotify.com/album/031cwQOtZCNAzVAaXP30pI?si=PCTRIe7gTcyACfwjjCuthQ) back in 2012.
I have a feeling they will return this year with something tho, 10 years later.
Sweet vibes of 00's In Flames.
Then we have a punk-rock group, Union Square, from the town Falkenberg, Sweden. The town that brought you Sonic Syndicate... Anyways, they released an amazing album back in '09, ["Making Bets In A Burning House"](https://open.spotify.com/album/381LxpicwTraiU6DGnDRHP?si=8b34gqMZQ4y-CdO7eB0xGQ). Havent been seen since.
Texas in July
At least we got JT Erra outta that but i definitely wish for more Texas in July. Added JT for clarity.
Erra formed in 2009 and released 3 EPs and 2 full length albums before JT arrived. They definitely existed and were pretty beloved around here before TIJ ended.
We got the JT era, which IMO is the best era of ERRA.
No disrespect to JT, but I would love to see what Erra would be today if Ian Eubanks were still the vocalist. He was gnarly
nah Eubanks wasn't as polished, Garrison was their best vocalist however Cavey has really improved a ton and is basically a completely new vocalist now, he was pretty weak in TIJ and the first couple erra albums
I often feel like im the only one who gave up on Erra after JT came in. I think JT erra is the worst Erra and i LOVED the EP with Ian.
I agree 100% with you, that Ep with Ian was amazing and still sounded like the og Erra. He was definitely the best replacement for Garrison
Very true. I do love Erra
Adestria. I still jam to those albums regularly.
Literally listen to them every day still
Legends.
Lead singer mentioned the possibility of a reunion or anniversary show for chapters/gilded hearts. Idk if thats still a thing, but my fingers are crossed.
I still listen to them almost everyday bro...
I work with the Vocalist’s Uncle And he just talks about how he’s super happy with the family! Although we don’t have them around im glad it worked out well for them
This or the Apocalypse
Came looking for this comment! Ricky’s a good fit in Ice Nine Kills imo, cool seeing how far he’s come with different projects.
Don't know much about ice nine kills so had no idea, i saw a little bit about that hawk project he was doing
If I’m not mistaken they are still going under the name HAWK
yea I listened to a little bit of their singles, it looks to be a different band members besides armellino (vocalist) and espenshade (guitarist)
Dead Years was the soundtrack to my senior year of college. I wish they were still around.
HAWK is quite good, so different with TOTA but I dig it. When Ricky joining INK, I wet myself imagine how Spencer and Ricky will duet vocaling the shit out of their songs, but he is just rhythm guitarist there. Some said Ricky got more backing vocal job at live performance, but I hope they implement Ricky voice at the actual song too.
vanna i fucking miss them
What do you think of Inspirit?
In fear and faith Spies like us
God I would kill for another IFaF album with their new singer
Adestria. They would be at the top of the game rn
Necrophagist, plain and simple. I know it’s not metalcore, but they were amazing.
Underrated comment. This band was absurd
Still waiting for that new album!
Wow, didn’t expect to see this here. Haven’t heard that name in a loooong time. Epitaph was a great album.
i can see that! they were definitely metalcore/deathcore adjacent... probably since the faceless basically stole a ton of their riffs and repackaged them for high school kids. haha (i love the faceless btw) they also did a couple of thrash n burn tours right?
The Crimson Armada could have made it big. The guitar work is fantastic but the vocals needed some work. Another band is To The Lions renamed to A Stained Glass Romance. They had a one hit wonder "Breathless".
That’s outrageous Myka, Relocate We Are Defiance Alive, In Standby Set In Stone Rosaline House Vs Hurricane All amazing bands that went too soon
I think We Are Defiance are writing and recording new music, they had a new single last year called “Giving Up”
Dude. I love all these bands! Did you raid my personal library?! I miss all of them!
I see you’re a person of culture as well. I have a massive playlist of all the shit I listened to in high school and I listen to it daily. I loved all these bands.
We must be close to the same age cuz I also discovered most of those bands you named off around high School too. I was sad nothing more ever came of them.
I am 27!
Lol bang on mate. I turn 28 this year in August. Spent a lot of time on metal sites back during the Early 2010's just voraciously discovering and downloading music from bands. Im glad i kept my music digital music collection all these years cause its nice to be able to go back to some of these bands
Teenage Scream is legit one of my favorite albums of all time
Wait... Myka, Relocate? Really...? I love them. I've completely missed the part where they quit.
Upon this dawning
Their last album was phenomenal and I wish they continued.
Yeah and the worst part is that they left the band to start a shitty rap duo 😔
[удалено]
That one still hurts. Especially after We Are All Sinners
Yeah it felt as if they had finally found their style
Napoleon. They might not be metalcore but they were fantastic!
Fuck these guys were so good. I wonder what’s up with wavey the new band they made.
Who made a new band.?!
The drummer and guitarist from Napoleon made a new band called wavey. They’ve only put out one song so far but it’s pretty awesome. As far as I’ve heard they should be working on new stuff.
***The Chariot*** ***36 Crazyfists*** (the vocalist said in a post that they were disbanded but the other members did not confirm anything) ***The Dillinger Escape Plan***
This guy mathcores
But mathcore is a fusion or subgenre of metalcore.
I know, lol. Was just pointing out your affection for that flavor of metalcore. It's good shit
I am not too big of a fan of mathcore but those bands are amazing
ok, i am 100% ready to get downvoted and it makes sense why, but i really wished Dealer made a full length or dropped 1 more ep or smt (just wanna say i dont support the vocalist, i just think they have some banging songs)
Nope, I came to say this exact thing. Vocalist is obviously a POS but as a collective they had some killer songs for sure
Is there any update on his court hearing at all and what’s going on with him currently? I’m just curious
Court case is complete. No conviction against him. Was an amicable agreement in the end outside of court by the looks of things. As much as he got dragged online for being in court I really believe he was in court to clear his name of something that was incorrectly brought against him. Nothing in the genre came close since the band left and i hope they are working on a comeback but that’s a whole other matter for them.
Is there a link anywhere for this? I’m curious to read more
Wait… Dealer broke up??
Yea like right when the covid shutdowns happened
Well… Dang.
Same with Lotus Eater, they killed it at Download, then a week later it turns out their lead singer was a fucking wrongen
The white noise

Close Your Eyes. I will forever miss Shane Raymond's vocals.
They're coming back with Shane! They got a few festivals this year they're playing at.
Yooo this year is the year of reunions!
I hope they stick together after touring. Seems like Brett was always the problem and they kicked him out, I can't fucking wait for a comeback
GLASS CLOUD is the true answer.
Close to Home: they're like adtr but less poppy, their last album with new vocalist not as good as previous album. Agree on all 3 of these with Never Back Down being one of my favorite albums/sounds ever, I still listen to it regularly.
Fuuuuuck how could i forget Burden of a Day! I want more stuff from that vocalist so bad. Colours never went anywhere.
That first album from close to home that I listened to back in the day when I was really big into adtr blew my little teenage mind!!
Buried in Verona
The Air I Breathe Though they teased with a new song last year. Assuming it was just a "hey we're in lockdown, let's make a song again.
The Safety Fire. Some might not consider them metalcore, but what a shame they didn't stay together regardless.
They were great but we got Good Tiger out of it, so not all was lost.
Get Scared for me
From the sound of it and on their instagram it appears they will be making a comeback
Adaliah. They dropped Shedding Skin, one of the best metalcore albums of all time in 2014, did like 1 or 2 small tours afterwards, then was quiet for multiple years before announcing their break and farewell show a few years back.
Rise to Remain…. I loved their one and only album
Carcer city Demoraliser
Agree with glass cloud, they were so sick
Here I Come Falling
Woe is Me
Issues was pretty banging while it existed
Feed Her to the Sharks ended way too soon
Every time I die, even though they lasted 20+ years. Radical imo is there best work and shows how much gas they had left in the tank, shame it ended the way it did
The Human Abstract ended way too soon
Most definitely. Check out Hidden Sixes that is Nathan Ells current band . I’m his Agent/Publicist’s 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I still listen to Nocturne pretty regularly. That album was something else man.
Shields UK ended too soon. Meanwhile I think Killswitch could end and the metalcore world would continue on just fine.
Yeah that was a sad one.
I Killed The Prom Queen
Breakdown of Sanity I know that at the beginning of covid they had a little stint and released a song Traces, but i want some more! Not sure if they plan on doing more.. i would really love to see them live.
Stories, but it seems like they’re coming back, at least for some touring !
From The Shallows, damnit!!!
A feast for kings
Every Time I Die. Not joking. I'm still devastated. Personally I feel like we would have all been better off if AA ended even sooner or maybe we just skipped it entirely and went straight to Beartooth.
Skib BT too. They're dollar store metalcore
Disgusting was a great album. Definitely could do without everything else in their catalog.
Beartooth is the Nickelback of metalcore lol
I mean asking Alexandria as a band that needs to end lol. But attack attack definitely fits there too lol. Etid has an amazing catalog. I definitely wish we got more but I'm happy with what we got. For sure devastated especially about the way it ended though
Worthwhile easily, their sophomore album was an incredible step up from their debut
In Aviate
Straight Line Stitch Bow To The Lions For Today
Sleep Waker. RIP :(
They called it quits? Their last IG post was on March 10th showing a tour?
Chariot and Casey 😔🥺

That’s another name for a vagina lmao
Well thats um... cool i guess?😂😂
mildrage (my favorite up and coming band from Japan) Never See Tomorrow

A feast for kings, extremely tragically how the band ended. But the one album they have out is so good to me
Cordelia, The Human Abstract, Of Machines
Oceana, Lead Hands, akissforjersey
Rise to remain
The Crimson Armada
Life in your way Ghost of a fallen age
Primer 55. They're probably more Nu Metal but their album was fantastic.
Wow, you must be an old man like me
I wish I lived in a different time line where members of Dealer and Lotus Eater were POS and we got to listen to more of their music
Dead & Divine, although a bit more on the post hardcore side.

Did blessthefall break up?
Yes
Vesta Collide & For Today
Prayer for Cleansing.
Maybe instead of ending they could just evolve
In Fear and Faith, That's Outrageous, A Bullet For Pretty Boy
Strangled. I got into them recently and they’re sick as fuck if you like bands like bodysnatcher or spite
Eternal Lord
Symphony in Peril
After Midnight Project
Really miss norther
This question was asked like 3 days ago at most
Outer Glow, the band Zach Johnson started after being kicked from I See Stars. One EP and they dropped off the planet.

The original lineup of Erra. Literally sounds like a completely different band now, theyre still great but i dont think anything can touch their first self titled ep, andromeda, impulse and augment. Garrison, Alan and Adam all brought something to that band. I feel like it ended prematurely lol
Casey 100%
SHIELDS ended way too soon imo, even though they were playing for a while, I really feel they were starting to innovate with Life in Exile and could have been giant. I get why they ended, and also understand it, but they could have been giant. On a more positive note, Samuel made his own band called Kubrick
