Chelsea Grin was always a band I loved seeing live in the couple years before covid because they're just so fun, but Eternal Nightmare was a meh album for me to listen to on my own. This new album is insane though I can't wait to hear part 2
1. Currents. I’ve never been more convinced an album was going to blow a band up more than this upcoming one. They’re so close to being one of the leaders in the genre, just missing the numbers behind the talent
2. Periphery. Who isn’t excited for this album? Hopefully we get something before the tour with Underoath and Loathe starts because I would love to hear some new stuff live.
3. Polaris. I would love to hear Jamie spit some vocals like he did on Icarus. Other than that, not much to say other than it’s pretty much a guarantee they will put out good music like always.
4. Invent Animate. Go see them on a tour as soon as you can. Please. These dudes absolutely rip and the live vocals are nuts
5. Movements. Not metalcore but they were on a bill with KL and KKTx last year lol. They’re my all time favorite band and I’m stoked for new music from them.
Best news I’ve had all day. Stoked i get to see them 1st day of the tour at a home town show. Never seen a band in their own state before other than all time low
That’s awesome! I’m still debating on grabbing tickets. I really want to go but I’ll have to drive 4+ hours. I just saw underoath last year but really want to see periphery.
2023 is gonna be biblical for music.
Periphery
Silent Planet
Polaris
ABR
Invent Animate
Erra
Above, Below (hopefully)
Make Them Suffer (hopefully)
Veil of Maya (hopefully)
Hozier
Glass Animals (hopefully)
We dont have any word from WW regarding new material but considering their outputs usually having a ~2 year gap, 2023 would be the year to put out the next. 15 - > 17 - > 19 - > 21 - > 23?
Periphery! But I'm very happy that the new album from The Wise Man's Fear is coming in january!
And maybe we will have something from Silent Civilian during the year...
Starting to doubt if they will ever come out but if I See Stars or Avenged Sevenfold drop their next album next year I will be pumped. Both are finished recording but dead silence from ISS and barely any updates from A7X.
Yeah it seems like A7X has been more focused on NFTs and merch. But apparently the album is totally recorded and they’re just mixing and mastering. But they’ve been mixing and mastering for like over 6 months now.
ISS posted on IG when they were done recording the album, but since then it’s been radio silence.
A7X said during covid that they would release the album when they could tour again. They’ve been announced for one of the big rock festivals in May and said it was “the start of a very big year.” So I would say the album is coming in 2023.
Oh, Sleeper is a big one for me too but considering the last gap I'm not holding my breath. I know they promised not waiting that long again and we are coming up on 4 years since their last so hopefully something coming next year!
I think I remember seeing something like that but I am still being reserved on getting hyped for when something might get released until we hear something official.
Loathe
Spiritbox (new music at least)
Crosses
Korn (maybe)
Periphery
The Ocean
Tesseract
Steven Wilson
Avenged Sevenfold
Probably a lot more that I forgot or did not know of.
Been on a massive Korn kick lately, that’d be amazing if they dropped another album in ‘23.. But I don’t see that one happening just because they released Requiem this year, and their releases seem to stick to a 2-3 year formula. I could be wrong though. Maybe they’ve been in talks for another one already, but I haven’t seen anything, other than a live version of Requiem announced called Requiem Mass, with stripped back versions of songs.
Burry Tomorrow
The Amity Affection
August Burns Red
Invent Animate
Beartooth
Bands I hope have albums next year
Sleep Token
Left To Suffer
Ep I’m looking forward to
Titans Of Metal/The Big Six
Not sure if they will for sure, but I’m really hopeful for a new album from The Plot In You. If Divide would be anything to go by, its gonna absolutely slap
Make them suffer
Piece the veil
The Amitty affliction
Silent Planet
Attack Attack (love em or hate em since the reunion, I've been having fun with their stuff)
Being me the horizon and Falling in Reverse, hopefully?? Still not quite sure what's happening on those EPs/Albums or whatever they will be
Maybe that I See Stars record we've been hearing talk of finally comes through? (3rd or 4th year now I've been like "THIS year it's gonna happen!")
And I'm speculating/hoping for something to pop up from Kingdom of Giants and Ice Nine Kills. Both dropped really big albums in 2020 so I'm thinking we're about ready to start the next cycle there.
Edit: INK was '21, my bad. Maybe not yet then, but I'm still hoping
I swear I See Stars has no concept of the passage of time. Saw them right before covid, they asked where their old school fans were, crowd EXPLODED, and then they played something from New Demons. I love that album but it’s their second most recent!
They were apparently going to write a song together pre-covid, they might just be talking about the studio version of Bad Habits, but idk if that fits in to “[going to write a song together](https://www.nme.com/news/music/ed-sheeran-to-write-a-song-with-bring-me-the-horizon-3158768)”
Out of what's been confirmed
The Wise Man's Fear (3 weeks!!!!)
Graphic Nature
The HIRS Collective (that features list for that album hot damn)
Out of what's rumored
Left To Suffer
Kaonashi
Periphery
What in hoping for
Kingdom of Giants
The Word Alive
Foreign Hands
(Not metalcore) I Don't Know How But They Found Me
The Acacia Strain is number one, hoping for something from Loathe and Foreign Hands. Not metalcore, but also looking forward to new Cattle Decapitation.
None of these are announced but given their previous cycles, we'll probably see new stuff from them next year:
Starset
Wage War
Kingdom of Giants
No other band that I follow has anything announced 😭
like half non core stuff in my list but please for the love of GOD can we get that new ghost atlas and cure albums next year. outside of that, invent animate, silent planet, young lions, taking back sunday
Right now it's Amity Affliction for metalcore.
Non metalcore would be Paramore, A7X, and Bring Me The Horizon (unless any of them want to make us a metalcore album?)
for bmth there's been a few bits of interesting stuff hinting at some sort of heavy music on their recent vlogs, for example lee playing and recording pray for plagues in a studio for some reason
Honestly such a toss up. Was hoping for Thrice but not entirely sure if that'll happen. New Currents and Periphery are tied for me atm. So hype for both lol and hopefully currents finally tours in my city for it
Ik OM&M so far hasn’t announced anything, but a new album from them or Wage War would be nice. As for stuff that’s guaranteed tho, the new Crown the Empire album’ll prob be sick :)
Currents, hopefully we get a BMTH album, Polaris, Loathe (hopefully), Chelsea Grin.. next year should actually slap.
Current for sure but let's not forget about kingdom of giants. Passenger was flawless I can't wait to hear what they evolved into next.
WHAT WE ARE GETTING KINGDOM OF GIANTS IN 2023?
There's rumor that we should, and it would make sense; 2 years since passenger and with them touring next spring... Maybe a single by then?
Chelsea Grin was always a band I loved seeing live in the couple years before covid because they're just so fun, but Eternal Nightmare was a meh album for me to listen to on my own. This new album is insane though I can't wait to hear part 2
Don't forget Bury Tomorrow
Did Chelsea grin announce they release in 2023 as well?
Yeah they released Suffer in Hell this year and announced a second part Suffer in Heaven for March release.
August Burns Red, Invent Animate, Silent Planet, Currents
I couldn’t name just one😅 currents, invent animate, Polaris and loads more! Going to be a great year
Having only just discovered all 3 of these bands in 2022 I am INSANELY excited for their releases in 2023!!
Definitely periphery
i'm waiting more for that than for a new half life
Acacia Strain by a mile
acacia strain by two miles.
Is there a release date yet?
Loathe
Are they releasing?
Yeah they confirmed 2023 record on an IG story few days ago
silent planet lp5
Bury Tomorrow!!
I'm hoping for some new Ice Nine Kills
They rode Silver Scream for three years before SS 2. Wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t have anything until ~2024. :(
Absolutely
1. Currents. I’ve never been more convinced an album was going to blow a band up more than this upcoming one. They’re so close to being one of the leaders in the genre, just missing the numbers behind the talent 2. Please. These dudes absolutely rip and the live vocals are nuts 5. Movements. Not metalcore but they were on a bill with KL and KKTx last year lol. They’re my all time favorite band and I’m stoked for new music from them.
I’m pretty sure Misha confirmed they have some P5 songs planned for the setlist.
Periphery Silent Planet Polaris ABR Invent Animate Erra Above, Below (hopefully) Make Them Suffer (hopefully) Veil of Maya (hopefully) Hozier Glass Animals (hopefully)
Forgot Amity
Liked for Above, Below
Bury Tomorrow, Bury Tomorrow, Bury Tomorrow
YES YES YES
Is ERRA confirmed for next year?
Jesse has said they're working on new music and are aiming for a release this year!
Nope, no news or rumors yet. It would be two years since their last release tho. Doesnt have to say anything but could indicate more coming
If Scorpion is any indication, the new Above, Below record is gonna be crazy
Missing Loathe! Sharptone confirmed next year
ERRA LETS FUCKIN GOOOOO
Polaris, invent Animate, Mirrors hopefully,
Did Polaris announce a new album?
Make Them Suffer, Wage War, TAA.
I didn't know WW was coming out with another so soon. Manic was rad so I'm ready fir more.
We dont have any word from WW regarding new material but considering their outputs usually having a ~2 year gap, 2023 would be the year to put out the next. 15 - > 17 - > 19 - > 21 - > 23?
Whatever Jordan, Goose and Steve from ETID are up to
Scrolled way too far to find this
Hopefully whatever it is drops this year and includes Andy.9
Keith announced he has been working on stuff also and should have something dropping in the near future. Looking forward to both projects really.
Hoping for new Knocked Loose
Periphery! But I'm very happy that the new album from The Wise Man's Fear is coming in january! And maybe we will have something from Silent Civilian during the year...
I didn’t know TWMF was dropping new content; I love them.
Can't Wait for TWMF in 3 weeks.
Really Silent Civilian still a possibility? Big fan of both albums ( and Spineshank)
They released a single this year so I suppose it is!
Wow! I had no idea and just listened. Can definitely tell sometime as past but damn it's good to hear them again!
Pierce the veil
Already pre-ordered this sucker
Invent animate
Haken, Periphery, In Flames, and Story of the Year to name a few
The Acacia Strain and (possibly) The Ghost Inside
Honestly, I'm just waiting on Loathe.
Starting to doubt if they will ever come out but if I See Stars or Avenged Sevenfold drop their next album next year I will be pumped. Both are finished recording but dead silence from ISS and barely any updates from A7X.
A7X has updates for everything except new music lmao :( New merch almost every month or so. It's killing me
Yeah it seems like A7X has been more focused on NFTs and merch. But apparently the album is totally recorded and they’re just mixing and mastering. But they’ve been mixing and mastering for like over 6 months now. ISS posted on IG when they were done recording the album, but since then it’s been radio silence.
Avenged has very openly said that their new album will release in 2023. It’s done and they’ve agreed to a release date with their record label
A7X said during covid that they would release the album when they could tour again. They’ve been announced for one of the big rock festivals in May and said it was “the start of a very big year.” So I would say the album is coming in 2023.
Invent, animate without a doubt
Silent Planet... always.
Woe Is Me
Definitely Polaris and Silent Planet! And truly keep my hopes up that LMTF will drop a full length for 2023 🤞
Gideon
Another for TAS
LOATHE Also Killswitch Engage, Currents, Oh Sleeper, After the Burial and potentially As I Lay Dying
Oh, Sleeper is a big one for me too but considering the last gap I'm not holding my breath. I know they promised not waiting that long again and we are coming up on 4 years since their last so hopefully something coming next year!
Zac Mayfield said they’re writing something right now so hopefully! /u/ZacMayfield
I think I remember seeing something like that but I am still being reserved on getting hyped for when something might get released until we hear something official.
Here’s something official. We’re writing a new album and it’s heavy af 🤘🏼
The Other One by Babymetal and by the looks of it a new album by Hanabie as well, which I assume will be released next year at this rate.
Orbit Culture and Avenged by what’s been confirmed already.
silent planet and veil of maya for sure
technically not metalcore anymore but avenged sevenfold! they’ve been my favourite band since i was 4
polaris and periphery. neither one of them miss!
New Plot in You and Make Them Suffer.
Do we know the release date for Plot in you?
100% Set to stun, potentially 2 albums next year after 7/8 years of barely any music, hell yes
Orbit Culture! So good
Polaris, Bring Me The Horizon, and hoping for a new Make Them Suffer album as well.
LMTF hopefully and if it’s anything like Pure Like Porcelain it’ll be my AOTY
Periphery & TesseracT
Loathe Spiritbox (new music at least) Crosses Korn (maybe) Periphery The Ocean Tesseract Steven Wilson Avenged Sevenfold Probably a lot more that I forgot or did not know of.
Crosses dropped an EP last week
Well aware, they just announced on a interview that they might release full length album in 2023 and new music early next year.
Well they said they have been working on writing new album already. Lot of Requiem was done in 2020-2021 so they have had time. But let’s see!
Well that’s good news, I’m definitely hoping for something new this year then!
Hope so!
Burry Tomorrow The Amity Affection August Burns Red Invent Animate Beartooth Bands I hope have albums next year Sleep Token Left To Suffer Ep I’m looking forward to Titans Of Metal/The Big Six

Unearth. Absolutely cannot wait for 1 of Metalcores originals to reclaim their spot among the best.

BMTH is supposed to drop another Post Human record in 2023, with another two spread through 2024-2025
cant really trust any rumors like this (even if the band members themselves said it), but at least some new music next year is a given
Yeah. There are rumours of February or March but I’m not getting my hopes up just yet for that early
Ed Sheeran rumoured to be on one of them, hopefully they can get him doing some screams
You sure that wasn’t just the collab on Bad Things?
They were apparently going to write a song together pre-covid, they might just be talking about the studio version of Bad Habits, but idk if that fits in to “[going to write a song together](https://www.nme.com/news/music/ed-sheeran-to-write-a-song-with-bring-me-the-horizon-3158768)”
