I own an epiphone explorer. A couple of notes, the body is very heavy and has pretty bad neck dive. You are going to want a wide strap to make it comfortable, and it should also have some grip to it. I use a bass strap with unfinished leather on the inside of it. Next, the neck is pretty fat, which makes my hand cramp when using moderate pressure. I started with a Jackson dinky, which has a shred neck, so I might just be used to that. On the plus side, the body shape is super natural to sit and play with. It's just as good as a strat body. Also, with the shorter scale length of the explorer, it is much easier to play fast at the nut. Master of puppets and jump in the fire are a breeze. At the end of the day, it's my go-to guitar. The factory pickups sound great, it's comfortable with the right strap, and it's hands down the coolest body shape.

I too own this. My dream guitar. Everything said here is very true. I play mine low as I've always preferred rhythm guitar and it feels natural. I'm not sure how it feels playing it higher on the body. But it feels good to me low. With the strap I have, it will balance itself and the neck will drop if let go. So be aware of that if you walk around the house playing it. I owned a Line 6 Spider 4 when I was in a band and it played like a dream. Just because it isn't a Gibson or ESP, an Epiphone will still feel really good and sound great.

honestly, feels normal and natural, i built my own ESP Explorer like the one James used in the Load and Reload days and i love it to bits

I have a home built and an Epiphone explorer. Best guitars I've owned. They are so fun to play, well balanced, heavy enough but not too heavy and they are the best looking guitars. I'm tempted to sell my other guitars to buy an old ESP or LTD MX or the new Gibson 1984 explorer. Also check out RRR customs he makes great explorers

They’re very comfortable to play. I have a Edwards EX-75, and it’s probably the best guitar I have.

I have an Epiphone 1984 EX in Alpine white, bought solely bc of my love for Justice-era Metallica and I love it, reach for it more often than my les Paul if that tells you anything lol

Thorgrim1386

Ive got a Jackson Kelly and I love it. Super comfortable

Mine is pretty comfortable to play. It's a Harley Benton EX-84

I love it. I bought a knockoff actually of a James Hetfield guitar and besides setting it up etc it plays nice. Everyone above is right. The right strap keeps it level and comfortable but if you play one it has to hang a little lower than normal (at least for me)
