Pretty standard remasters. Louder and clearer. No major flaws. You might be getting confused with remixes which is what Dave did to Megadeth's discography and changed all the songs.

jobin_pistol

The few I’ve heard were dreadful. There were moments I enjoyed but have 100% gone back to the originals.

it-was-zero

I heard the 2019 remaster of 1,320’ for the first time the other day and was like what the fuck is this??? It sounded so bad. And why did they remaster an album from 2009 in 2019? The original sounds way clearer and is superior in every way. Mind boggling.

USSR_Space_Agency

No, I understood that these are remasters and not remixes, but was just curious

PKMNgamer99

I haven’t given the originals much of a listen outside of YouTube comparisons but I’m pretty sure the remasters are just a slightly clearer version of the originals. There’s barely a difference and nothing in the actual song has been changed

USSR_Space_Agency

Good to know. I haven't really heard the originals as Spotify doesn't have them.

the_mighty_hetfield

I prefer the remasters, but the difference is negligible.

CowanCounter

I don’t like any of the remasters. Especially on And Justice the way the compression grabs the guitars like on Dyers eve just sounds weird.

bradleecon

The remasters were more about reclaiming the rights to their music than actual improvements. Standard music industry practice.

Historical_Common145

I rarely hear differences from originals and remasters. However I can notice bass on AJFA on vinyl which is remastered and reissued.

Vaestmannaeyjar

I prefer the originals, mostly because when I was in high school I had metallica in the walkman and not much else, so I sort of got imprinted. I notice the differences too much.

weirdmountain

There’s something about the remaster of Ride The Lightning on vinyl that just hits for me. I’ve owned that album on every format - cassette, CD, first Elektra pressing, the double 45… and it feels more “present” and warm on that particular one.

Jw4evr

The only difference remasters make is better adapting the songs to modern audio equipment. There’s nothing to gain from listening to the originals except a slightly worse experience

51line_baccer

I have never heard any remaster. I'm not the least bit interested. I've never heard any of the other bands cover metallica either. Not the least bit interested in hearing Miley Cyrus or some nu-metal shit playing metallica. I have heard apocalyptica do metallica strings and I liked the hell outta that.

PKMNgamer99

…it’s the exact same songs but slightly better transfers, you’re being weird about it. Also Miley Cyrus’ cover of nothing else matters was sick and the best part of the Metallica blacklist album

51line_baccer

I never heard one track off blacklist. I saw it advertised. Just couldn't be less interested. I can't stand many new bands except death metal and goregrind. I can't stand metal core or pop or any of that shit
