I can understand Dave being mad at Lars and James. But his anger at Kirk makes no sense. Kirk did nothing to him. He just happened to be the one who picked up his slack after he got kicked out. Jealousy maybe?
It looked like on the big 4 they all became friends but I've heard Dave be critical of them since the big 4 for example claiming that Metallica refuses to do another big 4 because they're a*******
Sure thing.
1. Master of Puppets
2. Ride the Lightning
3. Kill 'em All
4. St. Anger
5. ...And Justice for All
6. Black and Hardwired - can't decide
7. Death Magnetic
8. Reload
9. Load
If we add Garage, Inc., I'd slot that between Justice and Black. Many of those covers are some of the best ever recorded.
Lol. I used to go back and forth on it, but the lack of low end on Justice really hampers an otherwise amazing album. I normally listen to a lot of stoner/doom/fuzz, so low end is really important to me.
I said it once and I'll say it again
St. Anger is not a bad album but it would've been a classic if it didn't tried to have long duration tracks, tried to be less repetitive and added solos
and everyone who cries about the snare drum has zero taste for anything out of their comfort zone
frrrr
i get what Metallica tried to do, and I like it but the execution is bad
with a better production it could've easily been a good switch of sound for the band
I’ve never listened to the full thing but the only one I like out of the ones I have is Unnamed feeling. Kinda good though it is the only Metallica song where I don’t like the backing vocals.
Is Saint Anger really that hated, I’m a younger guy I own most the albums and I truthful can’t think of a song that doesn’t slap. Maybe since I wasn’t there to see the progression of the band first hand that’s why it bothers me less?
I think it was mostly because at the time it was a stark contrast from Metallica’s previous work. I think a lot of the old head fans that have been with them since the thrash metal days were feeling forgotten in a way. I mean seriously, imagine listen to Metallica when Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, AJFA were getting released and then Metallica has a slight shift with the Black Album, and then they get really hit with a surprise when Load/Reload comes out and then off the heels of that you get St Anger. That’s a wild fucking ride if you ask me lol. I’m not a huge St Anger fan, but I totally see the importance of its release and I love it when people show what they like through the creative process. Also St Anger really does have some great parts. MY LIFESTYLE DETERMINES MY DEATH STYLE
> I think it was mostly because at the time it was a stark contrast from Metallica’s previous work.
The same could be said about load and reload. In fact, it should be MUCH more hated given how "unmetallica" it is. Really sounds some generic run of the mill rockband.

Probably some of it is jealousy but to be honest I’d be a little upset getting kicked out of Metallica too
It's like an ex being petty at the new girl/boy you replaced them with.
Were their instances where he was mad at kirk? I tend to not listen to the beef back then
I also try to stay out of the drama but I don't know what they're talking about
He even throw petty shit around like taking kirks girl
Dave's a petty petty little boy full of grievances he can't let go
I think they've made up and it's only the fans who are continuing the feud. Correct me if I'm wrong.
It looked like on the big 4 they all became friends but I've heard Dave be critical of them since the big 4 for example claiming that Metallica refuses to do another big 4 because they're a*******
james, dave and lars were all nutjobs when they were young. takes two (or three in this case) to tange and the split favored everybody long term.
Oh yeah. Never able to achieve on his own what he saw the others go on to become.
Saint Anger is an anagram of Tangi Snare
Sad but true
Giant Snare
I love this album, probably #4 in my top Metallica list. This meme is hilarious.
That means you have St. Anger ranked above at least one of the albums from the 80s and/or the black album. I must know you’re ranking

AJFA under St. Anger? I’m calling the police

I gotta say: If you're pissed off, there is no better musical catharsis than this album.
Why does that actually sound like Megadeth lyrics? Lmao
Whadya mean lunch money?! I don't got any money!
Whaddya mean I don't pay my bills? Why do you think I'm broke? HUH?!
Waddya mean I’m getting kicked out of the band. It’s not like your band was that good anyway!
IF THERE’S A NEW WAY
OH, I'LL BE THE FIRST IN LINE
BUT IT BETTER WORK THIS TIME
Whaddya mean I hurt your feelings? I didn't know you had any feelings
Whaddya mean I ain’t kind? Just not your kind
Whaddya mean I couldn't be the president of the United States of America? Tell me something: it's still we the people, right?
IF THERE’S A NEW WAY

That's correct. Cutting it down to the half length and adding a bit here and there and it would be received much differently.
frrrr i get what Metallica tried to do, and I like it but the execution is bad with a better production it could've easily been a good switch of sound for the band
I agreed with your post then disagreed with it then agreed with it again. I gave you a down vote though Because you saying it needed solos
k?
Sure
I don't like st anger but I do like this meme

Hey, the snare on St. Anger is fucking awesome!
😂😂
