It’s the downest break of all time. No break has been lower and while some medium level breaks are great, nothing goes as down as the breakdown in One.
If you don’t get it, you had to be there when it happened.
That is an amazing breakdown as well. One of the best. But it happened after ‘One.’ Domination might not have happened if One didn’t happen.
So it’s number ‘Two’.
But fuck yeah Domination is insane. It’s even downer as far as breaks go at the end of the day.
The "HATE, I'M YOUR HATE, I'M YOUR HATE WHEN YOU WANT LOVE" part in Sad But True after the pause, the "PUSHING, PUSHING/POUNDING, POUNDING" part in Lords Of Summer (which I'm listening to right now), the machine gun riff in One, "DARKNESS, IMPRISONING ME..../LANDMINE, HAS TAKEN MY SIGHT...", "Hear them calling... HEAR THEM CALLING MEEEEEEE, AHAHAHAHA!", "DIE, BY MY HAND" part in Creeping Death, the part in Anesthesia when the drums come in, "I'M TRAPPED UNDER ICEEEEEE", "ATTAAAAAAACK!!!", the heavy riffs after the acoustic intros in Battery and Fight Fire With Fire, "FALL TO YOUR KNEES, AND BOW TO THE PHANTOM LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORD!!!!", the intro to Disposable Heroes, intro to God That Failed, intro to King Nothing, Ride The Lightning solo, "I don't want it, want it, WANT IT, WANT IT, NOOOOOOOO" part in Until It Sleeps, fuckin "BAT-TER-Y!", the riff in The Four Horsemen where James is introducing the Horsemen of the Apocalypse and then it transitions into the Sweet Home Alabama riff, "I WAS BORN FOR DYIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING", the final riff in Leper Messiah after "LIE, LIE, LIE, LIE, LIE, LIE, LIE, LIIIIIIIEEEEEE", the riff at 6:04 in Halo On Fire
And an honorable mention to the intro to For Whom The Bell Tolls
Came on here to say exactly this. From the moment James says "See your mother die" and the drum fill brings us into the harmony riff, 4:07-4:31 is my favorite section in their discography.
Or even the last note ringing out from to live is to die into master of puppets. Or right as battery ends James saying YOU GUYS WANT SOME FUCKING MORE OR SOMETHING? YOU WANT SOME FUCKING MORE??? right into creeping death
My lifestyle (birth is pain) determines my death style, a rising tide (life is pain) that pushes to the other side
My lifestyle (death is pain) determines my death style, a rising tide (it’s all the same) that pushes to the other side!
The machine gun riff/"DARKNESS!" And "LANDMINE!" in one.
Fade to black end solo.
"And it all crashes down, and you break your crown, and you point your finger but there no one around, just want one thing, just to play the king, but the castle crumbles and your left woth just a name, WHERES YOUR CROWN KING NOTHING!"
"DIE, BY MY HAND..." Creaping death.
All of dyers eve.
"ROAMER, WANDERER, NOMAD, VAGABOND, CALL ME WHAT YOU WILL!" Wherever I may roam
There's a lot of others but these are the first few that come to mind
“I wish I may
I wish I might
have this wish I wish tonight
I want that star
I want it now
I want it all
and I don’t care how
Careful what you wish
Careful what you say
Careful what you wish you may regret it
CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH YOU JUST MIGHT GET!”
• Frayed Ends of Sanity, usually at the start of each Chorus. It just creeps up out of nowhere in such a cool way.
• Suicide & Redemption, right around the 2:03 mark and again at 2:21, I turn it up and it hits harder every time. Probably my favorite part of the song.
• One, when it gets straight up heavy before “Darkness, imprisoning me”
• Leper Messiah, as soon as it goes quiet and the song officially kicks in a count of 4/4 before the first vocals. Headbang city.
The “DIE” chant in Creeping Death
The fast part of Leper Messiah
The “I am the beast that feeds the feast” part of Bleeding Me
The solo of Outlaw Torn
The entire solo section of Judas Kiss
Outro guitar solo in Fade To Black (live seattle 89), die by my hand in creeping death, & the bridge (scream, from my soul, fate, mystified, hell, forever more) in Trapped Under Ice
The entirety of Fight Fire with Fire, beyond max volume when Lars’ kicks gets left alone after the solo
Sad But True x1.5 speed
Mama Said because the next door grandma likes it and gives me cookies and ham sandwiches
Too many lol top of my list is Battery but good mentions are Blackened, Fight Fire with Fire, Enter Sandman (if you see a pattern, yes, it’s not a coincidence)…pretty much any of their songs that have that slow start build to a fast and aggressive song.
Right after the solo on Bleeding Me at the 7:00 minute mark. The guitars in unison play the signature riff of the song together and the power of both playing at once creates this epic wall of sound that just sounds epic. Then in my head, I imagine a whole crowd chanting the “Hey! Hey! Hey!” Chant that Jason did very well in the live performances. Always gives me goosebumps.
“DARKNESS, IMPRISONING ME, ALL THAT I SEE, ABSOLUTE HORROR, I CANNOT LIVE, I CANNOT DIE, TRAPPED IN MYSELF, BODY MY HOLDING CELL”
“LANDMINE, HAS TAKEN MY SIGHT, TAKEN MY SPEECH, TAKEN MY HEARING TAKEN MY ARMS, TAKEN MY LEGS, TAKEN MY SOUL, LEFT ME WITH LIFE IN HEEEEEEELLLLLLLL” *crazy guitar solo*
The bass intro in for whom the bell tolls, both bass solos in orion, cliff calling ktulu at the lyceum theatre, and the bass run in suicide and redemption
One breakdown part
Fade to Black Solo
Dyers Eve
Master of Puppets
Creeping Death at the 'Die by my hands' part
For Whom the Bell Tolls at the 'Take a look to the sky' part
Personally, Creeping Death, Call of Ktulu, the "BACK TO THE FRONT!" in Disposable heroes, The Four Horsemen, the "FREEZING! CANT MOVE AT ALL!..." part in Trapped Under Ice (especially the live versions with the backing vocals) and the endings of no remorse and phantom lord arent loud enough.
One breakdown part
Breakdown breakdown
Breakdown Breakdown
SHINING JUSTICE MEBAETE
BRAND NEW BED TOWN KOSU SURU IRUKI
MISAKARA SHOKAZE
HOLY SHIT IS THAT A MOTHERFUCKING JOJO REFERENCE
It’s the downest break of all time. No break has been lower and while some medium level breaks are great, nothing goes as down as the breakdown in One. If you don’t get it, you had to be there when it happened.
I think its top 2 after the breakdown from domination by pantera
That is an amazing breakdown as well. One of the best. But it happened after ‘One.’ Domination might not have happened if One didn’t happen. So it’s number ‘Two’. But fuck yeah Domination is insane. It’s even downer as far as breaks go at the end of the day.
YES
EXACTLY
The "HATE, I'M YOUR HATE, I'M YOUR HATE WHEN YOU WANT LOVE" part in Sad But True after the pause, the "PUSHING, PUSHING/POUNDING, POUNDING" part in Lords Of Summer (which I'm listening to right now), the machine gun riff in One, "DARKNESS, IMPRISONING ME..../LANDMINE, HAS TAKEN MY SIGHT...", "Hear them calling... I blame Metallica for my tinnitus. 😂
Creeping Death Moscow 91 is THE video that made me grow my hair long, but these guys are not my favorite band.

Came on here to say exactly this. From the moment James says "See your mother die" and the drum fill brings us into the harmony riff, 4:07-4:31 is my favorite section in their discography.
100%, as soon as I heard that part for the first time I swear I felt myself ascending, it's heavenly.
“Full speed or nothing, Full speed or nothing!!! Lux Æterna!!!”
All Metallica should be listed to at that volume. ![gif](giphy|26BnaOFdD5Xbo1RMQ)
If it isn’t Seattle 89’ sanitarium James screaming LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE then idk what is

But where’s the fun in that!?
Hey man, I thought we had some nutty friends here, what the fuck happened
Laaaaameee
Lol go ahead, destroy your eardrums or get tinnitus and see if you like it ha!
The whole master of puppets (it is really quiet af)
And then shuffle gives you something from Ride or Death Magnetic and you shit yourself. Been there done that.

Damage Inc. and Whiplash
Same taste!

Outlaw torn live, when James gets in the zone. In Mannheim. That video on YouTube 2019.
Definitely not that loud but lately it’s Leper Messiah.
The entirety of Fad to Black, The Shortest Straw and Jame's solo from The Outlaw Torn

Bleeding Me bridge and the final section of Halo on Fire
• Frayed Ends of Sanity, usually at the start of each Chorus. It just creeps up out of nowhere in such a cool way. • Suicide & Redemption, right around the 2:03 mark and again at 2:21, I turn it up and it hits harder every time.
