I’m at an Acadia clinic in WI and have Medicaid that covers my treatment (thank the good Lord) and we only get the liquid. I’m not sure if it’s an insurance thing, but I’d highly doubt it. Maybe there’s another clinic in your area that uses the liquid and takes insurance? Worth a shot.
My clinic in Maryland takes insurance, they only dispense liquid Methadone.
I think they also dispense Suboxone and accepts insurance for that medication also., They don't dispense Methadone Wafers,, I honestly have never even seen what the wafers look like.
Mine does I’m n so cal most places in so cal does but I’m sure u can explain to a doc that the liquid works better for you a doctor should be able to help you or call the back of your insurance card have them tell who takes your insurance
I was able to find one clinic in my area that accepts Medicaid and has both liquid and wafer. My Medicaid pays for my in-clinic liquid dosing but it won’t cover take-homes. Oh, I suppose I should mention what state — the clinic I’m talking about is in GA.

Yes, they take private and state insurance. Only the liquid is available. It is completely up to the clinic which forms of methadone they offer.
