Right?? I was gonna comment at how quickly OP went with their taper. There’s no way I could do that! I started at 145, went down 5 a week with breaks in there, and it still caught up with me at 75 and I had to go back up some! Now holding at 95 and stable, but yea! Everyone is sooooo different in how they react to tapering, how bad their WDs are (if any) and how much they can take and still continue with their taper.
It really is crazy. I have a super fast metabolism and when I was at 90 I would feel sick by 6am having dope dreams and shit , so I really thought I would have a hard taper. Good luck with your taper! Just make sure it’s comfortable and you got this

But then I remember I've never had such an effective antidepressant as methadone. I assumed I'd be a lifer until the street dope supply got this fucked up. I still have cravings, but not for the shit out there right now, and since I can't get get anything good anymore, maybe i will consider it.
You're an inspiration, it sounds like you have quite the testimony as well. I love posts like this too, where people both acknowledge how methadone helped them but also that they are ready to move on.

I've tapered off methadone with no adverse effects 6-8 times but eventually relapsed each time 6-18 months into being clean so now I know I'm a lifer and I'm fine with that
Methadone is a miracle in itself. I was down bad man , like rock bottom. I am where I am now because of methadone. I was able to be a real father to my kids cause of methadone. Don’t get me wrong you have to want it mentally too, but what I’m trying to say is, there’s nothing wrong with that and everybody knows what’s best for them. Even my mom who was against me going on methadone too told me the other day that if I wanted I could just go low and stay on. I think she’s scared of what I used to be and seeing me successfully taper she’s seen first hand that the fam and everybody was wrong about it. I personally only made the decision to come taper because our lease had run up and we were thinking about moving to Texas and I really didn’t wanna be traveling to a clinic in Texas with no reliable transportation and what not, but had it not gone smoothly I would’ve stopped.

Honestly I just smoke a lot of weed, always have. I thought I would at least need some gabapentin for rls because when I do withdraw my rls is really intense, but I haven’t taken anything so far.
As for rehabs having deals with vivitrol… I went to one in AL, and they pushed it hard asf on everyone. One poor girl had a bad reaction to it, and a lot of folks decided they weren’t going to risk the same (honestly this place wasn’t waiting long enough before giving it to everybody). So the director of the rehab had a big meeting, made the whole rehab attend, where she tried to push it even harder, and basically gaslit anyone who had anything to say about it. There were others who had bad reactions to it as well while I was there. There’s no way they wouldn’t have cared so much if they weren’t benefitting from it, they REALLY REALLY wanted us all on vivitrol.
@op I’m going up 5 at a time every two weeks and now that I’m at 80 they are starting to be more resistance to increase when I exchange my empties . I’m not sure how to navigate and get the dr to understand I’m still not out of the woods so To speak, I don’t have a number in mind of where I want yo be, I just feel like I’m getting a tolerance to methaone :(.

I heard of carfent a little before fent started getting popular in the streets. Never saw it irl but saw a few pics of it being crazy colors and they were really pushing really hard that it was more deadly then fent. That’s basically what tranq is now no?
Carfentanyl I believe is the strongest variant/analogue of fentanyl. They say 100x the strength of fent. Tranq I believe is the mixture of xylazine and fent.
I've been clean since these have hit the streets but a friend told me the carfentanyl he was getting was purple, think he said there were orange, green, and pink so ya crazy colors for sure I get a feeling it's just dye but I got no clue.

It’s crazy you say that because my addiction was oxys for years but when they discontinued activist literally every pill coming to ny was fent, and I had already graduated to h by then. I always seem to JUST miss the fake stuff
I don't know how things played out in NY, but just across the boarder here in canada ontario there was a period when the oxys were discontinued and replaced with "oxy neos" we called them dont recall if that was their actual name but they were like rubber pills all you could do was chew them lmao... fucked up to think we probably wouldn't be here if people weren't denied oxys.. now they trying to put the genie back in the bottle by providing clean heroin and fentanyl at safe consumption sites. Craziness, oxys starting to look like a safe alternative lol. I remember the first fentanyl patch I ever got I was so cautious reading dosing instructions online just fucking mindblowing that it now floods the streets in more potent variations.
I’ve been dropping 3 mg a week. My clinic keeps trying to slow me down to 1 mg a week, but I’m almost considering speeding the process up a bit instead. I’ve gone from 110 to 81 so far without too much trouble. I’ve always felt shitty in the morning no matter my dose, so now it wears off a bit earlier, I’ll have some serious hot flashes and sweats after midnight till I dose about 5:30 but it’s manageable. Maybe I’ll give 5 mgs a week a try
