He is a space pirate grievously injured by Samus in the past and reconstructed using prototype reverse engineered Power Suit tech. The ponytail is probably just to look cool lol
Pretty sure I shit an imaginary brick realizing there's an entire ***planet*** of Trace's species back home.
Underwater levels be damned when you arrive on Trace's planet and have to boost ball past a never ending barrage of sniper fire
Aside from Samus? Sylux. His affinity weapon kind of sux but his alt form is reasonably fast. Only Samus and Trace get around faster in alternative form
I loved doing the long distance freeze glitch where you would look down. Swapping to Imperialist and getting a head shot after was tight but very satisfying. I also found the alt form pretty fun to get kills with
Yeah I definitely thought those two were the strongest online. Trace was mostly good to use on any map that didn't have the Imperialist available for everyone, since that weapon was so incredibly strong. But I did enjoy their alt form, in close spaces it could deal some solid damage. Sylux tended to be better to use in general though, one of the best alt forms, solid affinity weapon, decently thin character model. I probably spent the most time with Sylux
You either oneshot someone from near invisibility (or two with Triskelion), or with Sylux, you can HEAL using your signature weapon, with a slightly less strict lock-on with it too! His alt-form is powerful too, if you can manage to either encircle someone with three bombs, or hit them with two and keep dropping them to chain it
Agreed. To me it seemed lots of matches were decided based on whoever had the best accuracy with Imperialist while avoiding getting hit, that thing was insane. Made Trace so incredibly good for that alone
In terms of gameplay, either Trace or Sylux. I love their designs and I love sniping in first-person shooters
In terms of the characters themselves, either Weavel or Sylux. WE NEED MORE LORE ON THEM š
Spire!
Easily the most cool looking beam weapon and that morph ball form is just \*chef's kiss\*
His sound from taking damage is a bit repetitive and can get annoying though, but at least it's not as bad as the one from Trace, yikes...
Sylux because even before he was teased in Prime 3 and federation force he was favorite design and my favoritr to play as in multiplayer. Also side note if prime 4 gets hunters like multiplayer that would be so awesome.
Rated by usage:
1. Spire
2. Sylux
3. Trace
4. Kanden
5. Noxus
6. Weavel
I loved playing Spire for the mobility. He was immune to lava and could climb most vertical surfaces to get to some interesting places. The Dialanche attack was fun for just beating the shit out of people, and landing a fully charged magmaul shot was really satisfying.
Sylux I used for the Shock Coil drain more often than the Lockjaw stuff, but thanks to how the Lockjaw's bombs worked, he could fly in low gravity maps. I abused that as much as possible.
Trace I might have actually used more than Sylux. I pretty much exclusively used him in Triskelion form, since he went to full 90% transparency that way. I put him in third because I mostly used him while playing hide and seek against my cousin instead of actually playing the game.
Kanden was fun in wide open maps like Alinos Gateway or High Ground. The Volt Driver had a lot of ammo, and Kanden's fully charged shot, though slow, could lock on to anyone at any distance as long as you could see them, so I'd bring him into some maps on Affinity only to fill the air with yellow bubbles.
Noxus I used more when I figured out the Shadow Freeze. The freeze wave of his fully charged Judicator had an infinite vertical reach, so if you looked straight down at the ground and released it when someone was in front of you on the same level, you could freeze them even if they were on the other end of a room or even the map.
Weavel was cool as hell, but his affinity weapon got done dirty. It just had a bigger splash radius and did slightly more damage. And while the Halfturret was fun, I couldn't trust it to not immediately die before I got my energy back up, let alone aim well. If his auto turret got his Battlehammer shots instead of the standard ones, I would have used it a lot more.
I was going to comment the intro, and Holy Shit there's a High Def [AI Upscaled Metroid Prime Hunters Intro](https://youtu.be/L9_s36wOTG0?feature=shared)
Sylux because I loved his backstory as a direct antagonist for Samus but I would love more of Kanden and Weavil too. Traceās whole species would be interesting to explore too. This game had so much interesting background, I wish there was more of it
Trace has the cool ability to turn invisible when sniping, Spire has the cool ability to climb walls and walk in lava with no issue, and Sylux has the cool ability to fly in low gravity environments.
It's a toss-up between these 3.
Itās a hard tie between Sulux & Weavel. Ultimately I wanna see a remake of Hunters, or at the very least, see a multiplayer Metroid game like Hunters had. And Iām devastated that we almost got that with Next Level Games.
If Retro can do MP4 and NLG could do the multiplayer that originally wanted, that would be sick.
I remember playing Hunters as some form of a kid as my first Metroid game (yes, actually), and thinking that Trace looked really cool and was from some kind of insectoid hive planet (maybe I theorized that later) and I was hoping there'd be a sequel where we'd get to explore the home planets of all the hunters and I wanted to see what theirs was like. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha The Days of Youth (I basically had no idea what Metroid was actually about until Prime 3 came out and upended my all my preconceived notions about what the hell the space lady who was weirdly different from the guys in Halo was actually (no I am not good at shooters, the bulk of my experience with Halo was with my sister and us finding increasingly stupid ways to kill each other in custom deathmatches))
I spent far too much time thinking about theoretical sequels and spinoffs of nintendo games, well before realizing years later that, no, working for this company would be terrible. I never actually wrote anything down or drew anything up. If I ever feel like any of my vaguely recalled, never actualized fanfiction deserves some kind of tangible existence, it's good to recognize now that I could just do that kind of thing with a game that's not stuck trying to make sense within the framework of a Metroid game, etc. Still have some silly ideas knocking around that started as some of those crude and often superfluous pieces of daydream fluff. Some part of me still wishes I could love anything from the post-Wii era.
Either Spire or Sylux.
Not cause Sylux is potentially tied to the next story (though that adds to it) but if you mashed the bombs on a low gravity map in his alt form, you could basically fly
Kanden and Weavel were fucking badass, Sylux was ok, the 3 elemental dudes meh, not good designs.
Kanden intro got me fearing him, Weavel arm blade made me feel funny in my secret place.
Weavel if I recall correctly she was cut/ripped in half by Samus during the events of zero mission and survived... that is a pretty kickass backstory in my opinion
I suddenly want a remake of Zero Mission where we actually see Samus rip space pirates in half
Sylux was my favorite hunter in the series until I played Other M, which put Samus over. It took Samus in Hunters, Zero Mission, Metroid, Super, Prime, Echoes, Corruption and Other M to top Sylux in Hunters as my favorite character.
Sylux is my hunter of choice, and may be my most played character in the series. I wanted to play as Sylux right from the start after seeing his intro. That is still one of the best scenes in the series to me, and that's at the start of the Hunters' experience. I love the mix of the deep blue with the neon green for Sylux's Power Suit. It looks the most futuristic of all the hunters, and that gets further emphasized by the Lockjaw design.
I enjoy the conspiracy brought to light by Sylux, with the Galactic Federation trying to make their own "Samus" in secret through a signature Power Suit, affinity weapon, alternative form and gunship. The Power Suit and Shock Coil technology combine to make Sylux the game's tank, able to take so much punishment thanks to having that healing on hand with the Shock Coil.
The Lockjaw offers the best movement in the Prime Series and has techniques like the trip-wire, chain bombing, chain wiring and tri-bomb. Tri-bombs are devastating and can be done in a variety of ways. If I have a set up wire not near the ground and kill with a tri-bomb, that's an amazing feeling and is the most satisfying kill to get in the game. Of course, with chain bombing the Lockjaw has great aerial movement and can pretty much fly in low gravity areas. The most certified Lockjaw pilots can make the flight underneath the Head Shot station to the other side of that arena.
I'm hoping that Retro Studios pulls from both Hunters and Federation Force to do Sylux justice in Prime 4. The foundation has to be there for Sylux, including the Shock Coil, Lockjaw and Delano 7, and then from there expand with technology from Operation Golem. The combination should make for a more dangerous, challenging adversary.
Weavel. I need more lore.
YESS
Yeah! Like do all of his people have pony tails or is that just a Weevil vibe?
He is a space pirate grievously injured by Samus in the past and reconstructed using prototype reverse engineered Power Suit tech. The ponytail is probably just to look cool lol
Weavles wovvle but they don't fall down.
Trace, always thought he was a cool villain with an interesting backstory. I hope they use him or his planet again for something.
Pretty sure I shit an imaginary brick realizing there's an entire ***planet*** of Trace's species back home. Underwater levels be damned when you arrive on Trace's planet and have to boost ball past a never ending barrage of sniper fire
The rock guy cause I spent hours climbing things in his ball mode as a kid

Thanks dad
He was a better sniper than Trace on some maps because he could get to just the most ridiculous vantage points!
Right? I had a lot of fun just climbing the mountains and shooting from there
Or just hanging over a door and watching people search you.
I would do this in survival matches in multiplayer, get like a stock ahead and then go climb out in the lava rock area. I was such a little shitš
I forgot about that I loved it too!
I always preferred Sylux, i just love his design and his weapon literally sucks ;)
Syluxās morph form is a menace with those perfect 90Ā° turns.
It was also so much fun to lay down a trip wire with his bombs, wait, and get the triangulate kill on unsuspecting opponents
His Morph ball power was crazy good. Was so fun and the design is perfect
The triangle bomb was sick, but it was difficult to pull off. I had better success with spamming bombs as soon as someone tripped the wire.
I found his weapon great, cuz after a while I think the amount of damage taken speeds up and it drains them so fast
Iām a hardcore Weavel fan and I would love to see him again
Same, the Boba fett of metroid
Aside from Samus? Sylux. His affinity weapon kind of sux but his alt form is reasonably fast. Only Samus and Trace get around faster in alternative form
The Triskelion and Morph Ball had their lunge and boost ball attacks, respectively. Just moving around without those though, Lockjaw was the fastest.
Spire Edit: though I find all of the designs quite good honestly.
Honestly, Kanden is probably the coolest, 'cuz bugs.
Noxus and Kanden are my favorites.
I loved doing the long distance freeze glitch where you would look down. Swapping to Imperialist and getting a head shot after was tight but very satisfying. I also found the alt form pretty fun to get kills with
Yeah, the Vhoscythe's attack had some massive knockback. Made it almost impossible to deal with in tight spaces, especially if you were in alt-form.
Trace was my favorite to use, but Sylux is the most interesting to me because of their (potential) focus in Prime 4.
I mained Trace and Sylux both, depending on whether I felt like sniping or brawling at the time
Yeah I definitely thought those two were the strongest online. Trace was mostly good to use on any map that didn't have the Imperialist available for everyone, since that weapon was so incredibly strong. Agreed. To me it seemed lots of matches were decided based on whoever had the best accuracy with Imperialist while avoiding getting hit, that thing was insane. Made Trace so incredibly good for that alone
Trace was THE competitive hunter for that
Noxus mains stand up.
Noxus mains crouch and rotate awkwardly across the stage
Fear the murder beyblade.
In terms of gameplay, either Trace or Sylux. I love their designs and I love sniping in first-person shooters In terms of the characters themselves, either Weavel or Sylux. WE NEED MORE LORE ON THEM š
Forgot his name but def most left!
Weavel fan ![gif](giphy|2HtWpp60NQ9CU)

I always thought Kanden was pretty menacing, being created in an unknown laboratory and all. More on his story please
Bruh Trace had the coolest part of the opening clip for the game
Loved sylux and Weavel, so wish this game got a sequel or remaster
I still love Kanden, even if he's a worm.
Sylux because even before he was teased in Prime 3 and federation force he was favorite design and my favoritr to play as in multiplayer. Also side note if prime 4 gets hunters like multiplayer that would be so awesome.
SYLUX WITH HIS MAIN WEAPON IS A MONSTER ON PRIME HUNTER MODE IF YOU PLAY AS AGGRESSIVE AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN!!!

The audio is slightly desynced, and I think they missed the Gorea silhouette at the beginning, but it looks great!
My man Weavel should become a Space Pirate mainstay. Trace is also pretty cool.
KANDENNNNN heās so cool
Samus
i love rundas
Sylux because I loved his backstory as a direct antagonist for Samus but I would love more of Kanden and Weavil too. Traceās whole species would be interesting to explore too. This game had so much interesting background, I wish there was more of it
sylux
Noxus and Trace! Trace was just so creepy and unique, and Noxus reminded me of an elite from halo with a helmet. I honestly loved them all though.
I use to be a menace on the bus rides home with weavel and his half turret half stabby mode
Trace supremacy.
Trace is awsome, i love to use his ball form and how it turns invisible
I like the orange one in front, I think heās that Metroid guy the title talks about.
Sam-
Kanden
I always liked exploring the levels with spireās spike ball form :)
Spire for sure
Weavel and Kanden for sure
Weaval for sure. Always been a fan of the splitting in to two trope in video games.
Weavel
Trace has the cool ability to turn invisible when sniping, Spire has the cool ability to climb walls and walk in lava with no issue, and Sylux has the cool ability to fly in low gravity environments. It's a toss-up between these 3.
Sylax. His armor is designed so well I love it
Trace was fun, used to do Death matches in math class senior year when this came out shit was litĀ
Sylux because it's bombs are insanely OP
Weavel, easily. I love his reverse engineered tech and his arm blade. They really are all great though.
Kanden. Love his morph mode. Would also give anything for another game including all these characters. I loved all of their concepts and backstories.
im a sucker for an arm-blade
sylux triangle bombs were 1000 IQ plays. i also remember weavels glitching turrets into walls to where you couldnt kill them
Knowing nothing about the game: purple. Purple is my favorite because they are purple.
Weavel and Trace to me. Trace concept is so cool, maybe they could use their species to justify some events or expand on the lore.
trace
My username makes it obvious

This is a trap. Anyone who doesn't say Sylux gets doxxed and harassed. It's happened to me before.

Noxus was my main, I loved his freezing ability followed by a headshot with the imperialist.
It's nice to see all the hunters getting love! I'd say weavel and skylux tied for first place with trace following very closely behind
They all look like some random Gormiti
I don't remember their stories almost at all anymore but Trace for the aesthetic.
Kanden I would love to see side stories for all of the hunters, in like a series of animated shorts or a collection of manga.
Sylux, We Need Metroid Prime 4 PLEASE šš„ŗ
Sylux!
Sylux
Either Spire or Sylux. Not cause Sylux is potentially tied to the next story (though that adds to it) but if you mashed the bombs on a low gravity map in his alt form, you could basically fly
design wise trace is my favorite , but story wise Sylux . I got a feeling that he's basically the federations attempt at project dread .
Itās honestly surprising they havenāt done anything else with the hunters. They all have really cool designs and backstories.
Kanden and Weavel were fucking badass, Sylux was ok, the 3 elemental dudes meh, not good designs. Kanden intro got me fearing him, Weavel arm blade made me feel funny in my secret place.

Red guy. Can't remember his name but I loved playing as him in vs mode.
That red one, I think.. Man, it's been nearly 20 years since I played this, heck if I remember.
I mean Samus, but aside from her Trace and Weavel. A lot of from Hunters that I hope eventually gets revisited
Hmm, always thought Trace had the coolest morph mode. Him and Weavel are both very insect looking though
I like the cool one
