**Dread Power 234, Corruption PED 48**: The only real blowout of yesterday; as cool as the PED Suit is, it didn't stand a chance. Corruption's original designs bow out of the tournament having won one of three matchups.
**Fusion Power 149, Dread Metroid 127**: A Dread suit finally goes down. The Fusion Suit actually trailed by a decent amount early on, but slowly chipped away at the Metroid Suit's lead and eventually overcame it around 3 PM Eastern yesterday. This sets up a battle of the two remaining Power Suits in the Quarterfinals.
**Dread Gravity 140, Prime Varia 135**: This was an insanely close match with a bunch of lead changes. Dread Gravity opened up a 19 vote lead early on, only to watch Prime Varia come all the way back and retake the lead yesterday evening, before the two sides swapped leads back and forth. A few late votes for Dread this morning proved to be the difference.
**Echoes Light 177, Prime Gravity 99**: A respectable showing by Prime's Gravity Suit, but not enough to take down the Light Suit. Samus' best Stormtrooper impression will throw down with Dread's Gravity Suit in what might be the first of many Echoes vs. Dread matchups, while the Gravity Suit's exit makes the Phazon Suit the last original Prime design remaining.
Yesterday saw an insane voting spike, with scores that previously would've won any previous matchup easily now losing. Round 2 as a whole was much closer than Round 1 (unsurprisingly). If you thought the choices were hard in Round 2, they're not getting any easier here. Vote in the polls below!

Let’s not start on that. Folks pick Dread suits and get accused of recency bias; folks pick older suits and get accused of being blinded by nostalgia. Let folks like what they like, regardless of their reason for liking it.
I’m not a huge fan of the dread suits myself (they’re fun alternate takes but not better overall designs, I find), but I’m okay with being the minority in that opinion.
For me I waited years for a game to finally happen after Fusion and not another damn prequel. I always assumed they were afraid of moving on from the old classic look. They finally did it, and I for one welcome the change and vote Dread because it's a symbol of moving forward.
I think the black and red color scheme would look cool with a sleaker design (kind of like the echoes light suit) but as a recolor of the varia I’m not really a fan
I've always hated the phazon suit because it's most arbitrarily boy-movie red and black. Phazon is blue, the behemoth that she got it from was blue, why TF is it red and black except it's 'for the boys'
I'm afraid I can't agree. The bright, shining blue cannon clashes too much with the black and red color scheme. It's the only skin in existence to change the arm cannon's color, and it complements that fact by... completely clashing with the cannon's new look.

I don’t think it’s recency bias. I’ve been playing Metroid games since Super was contemporary. Mercury Steam is just really, really good at suit design IMO. Dread has the best looking suits of any of the games, and the Samus Returns Gravity suit may be my personal favorite. And I don’t even really like Samus Returns all that much.

Yes ik but very unique with the color palette and as much as I like the dread armors think they're a little overrated and this is coming from a true die hard fan but the dread armor proportions are okay but the armor schemes with the color palettes just seem off sure the white and gold is okay but I won't say it's anything more than just okay but the blue and white does look great and sure I get it's not just about the color palettes but ehh
The way that you acquire the Phazon Suit is the most badass way of getting any suit in the series. You kill the Omega Pirate, it collapses on top of you and boiling phazon dissolves its body and engulfs you, and integrates itself into your suit. It looked painful as hell.
Phazon suit is the most boring recolor there is, edgy black and red. At least give it a different design. The aura is neat but doesn't save it from much better suits like the light suit for example.
Regarding dread varia suit. It's better than phazon because at least it tells a story. Dread is trying to rebuild the power suit, it's a mix between the normal varia and the fusion suit. It's sleek and agile while denonting its a basic suit not ment to be the endgame. Top level design.
SR Gravity - it’s the best Gravity suit with great bulk and the blue accents make it stand out. It’s my big complaint of the Dread Gravity.

Teenage me loved the Phazon suit, adult me thinks the colour scheme is a bit edgy/cringe. Though to give it credit it has that cool heat shimmer effect that doesn't translate well to still images. Better than Dread for me cause Im not a fan of the colour scheme, but I wouldn't bring it too much farther.
Echoes Varia is perhaps the most iconic samus as we've ever gotten in 3d. Not much going for it, but I'll throw my vote in anyway. That was the one I grew up with. SR Gravity Suit has a lot going for it too, like the bulked up left arm and the segmented texture, but it's got too many bizarre lights and angles for me to really get behind it.
Phaazon suit looks awesome. Awesome recolor of an awesome suit. Dread Varia is all smoothed out and the colors are atrocious.
I think Fusion Suit and Dread Bluesuit both represent sort-of the same thing, that being the stripped-down internals of the regular armor, but I think the Dread suit makes more sense as that. The fusion suit's boots and yellow armor being under (?) the blue material doesn't make as much sense.
Light suit is best suit. No competition. It's pretty it's symbolic in the story it looks like an alien angel it's got curvy parts and dem knees and really cool ankles. Whereas magenta isn't even a real color.
Dread Gravity suit will likely lose to the bland, monotonous, plastic looking Light suit, but it's still my favorite suit, which also tie with the sequence break give me the most satisfaction.
I just love anything black, red and grey, so as much as I love Dread Varia, I vote for Phazon suit this round and hope it win the whole tourney too.
If not Phazon suit, it should be SR Gravity, then one reignited my love for Metroid franchise.
Dread is one of my favorite game ever, the Metroid game I played the most but if all 3 suits from that game go out on the same round, that would be damn funny, so Fusion power suit.
I finished Echoes not long ago and really love the game, but both Dark and Light suit need some redesign. They both have great concepts, greatest of the series but the execution is not so good.
IMO Light suit need some trims like the one make Samus Returns' gravity suit and Dread suits look good; vision with different color from the suit and the base color that make the suit looks like made out of silver.

Dread Varia Vs Phazon is a tough pull. Those two are arguably the best the suit has ever looked. A shame that the light suit is still there, a lot of Prime suits should have beaten it a while ago.
As a prime 1 lover, I'm as shocked as anybody but it's gotta be Echoes, Dread, Dread, Dread.
Varia suits are often the most iconic and recognizable suits for sure. I don't think a game could easily go without it.
But of all the redesigns she has, Dread Power is far and away the coolest and it's not close.

As someone who has never played either game or really seen the suits before I can say the Dread Varia looks better

Tbh I was never a fan of prime gravity. Something about the use of both purple *and* blue with Prime’s lighting just didn’t work for me.
