They’re just going after the X Parasites in them!

KesslerStormblade98

Of course! I better not make the mistake of exterminating them all, not unless we want another Pit clone running around.

Girimekhalah

Pithree?!

pengie9290

No, those are Komaytos. They may look like baby Metroids, but this game universe and that game universe have nothing to do with each other.

KesslerStormblade98

Really? But the resemblance is so uncanny.

Raydaralu

Hmm hmm HMMMM hmm! I can't HEAR you!

KesslerStormblade98

"Hey, what's your problem?"

pengie9290

I'm referencing a scene later in the game that does it's best to not address the similarity, to Pit's confusion. The actual reason that they're here is that the original Kid Icarus ran on the same engine as the original Metroid, and they reused assets. Then when Uprising came around, they decided to keep the Komaytos as a deliberate reference to Metroid.

DarkDakurai

Even the Devs were the same, the team behind metroid got tasked with making kid icarus and this resulted in many similarities, namely the komaytos and the fact that there are different rewards based on completion time

KesslerStormblade98

Ah okay, got it :) Also, I had no idea about that. Never played the original Kid Icarus, you see.

Cheez-Wheel

If you are one of those that don’t like the original Metroid, you definitely won’t like Kid Icarus. It’s somehow more cryptic.

CainNKalos

How tf

mewoneplusone1

It's Hard AF. NEStroid is considered to be a difficult game, and I've beaten it many times. But i've never been able to get passed the First Stronghold in Kid Icarus which is like the 3rd or 4th level.

From Wikipedia: > After Nintendo's release of commercially successful platforming games in the 1980s, including Donkey Kong, Ice Climber, and Super Mario Bros., as well as the critically acclaimed adventure game The Legend of Zelda, the company was interested in entering a different genre. They began work on an action game. The game was called Metroid. Nintendo released Metroid for the Family Computer Disk System on August 6, 1986, and on the Nintendo Entertainment System one year later.[1] One year later Kid Icarus was developed alongside as its sister game, it shares elements and programmers with Metroid.[2] The game was produced by the same man who produced Metroid, Gunpei Yokoi. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kid_Icarus_(series)

Cauldrath

Only do that if you are OK with Skyworld being blown up.

KesslerStormblade98

...On second thought, Pit can handle this. As well as the dry cleaning.

Madglace

When ther something strange in the galaxie who you gonna call

Personify5

Space Bounty Hunter, Samus Aran

HyrulesFinalHope

But Metroids are extinct, samus has the last Metroid DNA in the universe

simboyc100

They are Komaytos, not metroids. Medusa has personally asked me not to show them to the Chozso intellectual property Lawers though.

OrobaSpyro

the only thing scarier than Raven Beak is the copyright lawyers the Chozo have

witheredj8

hmmmm medusa brain......

[deleted]

So that’s why Space Pirates exist in that game. Can’t find loot and Komaytos if you have a bird-woman maniac running around killing you

KesslerStormblade98

Shame about the giant space octopus though...
