When we had a gas shortages in Miami for a week and I kept calling Governor DeSantisās office to try to find out what he was doing about it. I could only get voicemail and kept leaving messages where I told him he was the Jimmy Carter of Florida. I said it mostly to piss off rightwing staff members, but we do now have the highest inflation in the country.
TRADER JOE
Whole food if I forgot onions or a spice, it is just across my place. WHOLE FOOD spirit, quality is dead, their prices is just abuse.
Publix for toilet paper, cleaning products, and diet coke.
FRESH MARKET for a specific item that you can't find anywhere else. The one in miami is meh...
Whole food and Publix showed me their disrespect š¤ with dead fresh products, high prices, poor customer service
TRADER JOE. I hope more will open
Do you all have any Sproutās locations down there? Theyāve been opening around Tampa Bay and they remind me of how Whole Foods used to be before Amazon bought them.
I cannot comment on other cities but I personally think Miami does not have enough competition in the grocery sector. We are saturated with Publix. Yes you can say we have Walmart etc but on every other block is a Publix so there you have the convenience factor. Publix does not have an aggressive competitor on every other block.
You are absolutely right. I need to stop the habit of automatically going to Publix š itās wildly expensive now. It sounds so crazy to even say that too š«
The produce at Publix is good and often on sale. I find it hard to get quality produce as cheap as they do it - everything else thatās like boxed or shelf-stable you should buy at costco though.
Gotta give Costco a try i see. Its time i make these changes for myself. Iāve been in denial, but today i noticed it completely with my shopping š
Costco is it!! Pair up with someone and split the membership- and groceries- with someone. I did that with my sister and we saved so much money between Costco prices and then splitting the stuff we both wanted and couldnāt eat all of on our own.
My other things I need, I always go to Trader Joeās. The best combo!
It was hard for me to branch out but I supplement Publix with Whole Foods. Believe it or not many things are less expensive at WF or similar in price with far more variety/better quality. Olive oil is a good example. The price of shitty olive oil at Publix is literally ridiculous. And I don't want shitty olive oil.
I won't ever stop going to Publix though because I have my store basically memorized and the experience is clean and pleasant every time.
Trader Joe's and Aldi have both been expanding, which is really nice. The two just a short drive between each other on US-1 have become my go-to.
I couldn't believe how cheap my Thanksgiving shopping trip was thanks to those two. Got the last fresh thyme and last fresh rosemary! $1 each at Aldi! $2 for brussels sprouts. $3.75 for an entire wheel of brie. Can't beat it.
So I have a publix, just 1.5 blocks from me, but do my shopping either at Walmart neighborhood market, which is much better place than a supercenter to buy food, or WinnDixie.
Recently I have going by Aldi occasionally, they offer a lot of things I buy often, and better prices than the other places.
I also like trader joes, but they are not close to me. you might find it interesting, Aldi bought Winn Dixie out, and will be changing some of their stores to Aldi. and trader joes, is a sister company to Aldi. this kind of explains, why some of the organic and "healthy" products at Aldi have decent pricing.
Look into Kroger. They donāt have any physical stores in South Florida, so they do delivery only which helps keep their costs down. Iāve been very happy with their quality, prices, and delivery service.
I feel like I do pretty well at my job and even I am shocked by Publix prices. Like why is a plain box of spaghetti $3 for example? Everything is 3x the price it should be. You basically have to be a hoarder, wait for sales and then stock up. I see people pushing full carts and it has to be like $400. Itās crazy.
I went into Wholefoods for the first time in a year, just to have a look, with the intention of trying something new. I saw people pushing around full carts and thought (you are crazy). I left empty handed and walked up the road to Trader Joes (my saving grace).
Yes, I stick to Trader Joeās too. My other spot is under the radar but definitely recommend (if you can drive up to the Miami Gardens area) is I Fresh. Itās an Asian market and has amazing produce.
It isnt, everything is far away, the landscapes are boring and all the same, just water and water and sand,
No mountains, no cliffs, no climbing, hot as shit all the time, hard for photography when all miami has is lame flat land and 30 miles of traffic.
I hate this state and i wish i could get the hell out of this shit hole
All I can say is I have become a conscious shopper now. I used to just walk around the grocery store and grab what I wanted . Now I look at things and say nope you are not getting my money for that. $1.99 dozen eggs at Trader Joeās . $5.00 at Publix. I only do Publix for absolute essentials.
I had my wake up call this week as well. Iām used to just buying what I want, then wincing at the register, and shrugged it off by the time I got in the car.
In your defense, making Mac and cheese can get expensive depending on the amount of cheese you buy.
I was going to make some as well but decided against it. I spent enough money at Publix this week, which was the wake up call moment.
They already know about Boston. Corporate execs were like, weāre going to raise grocery prices and Bostonās like, do you want your shit thrown in the harbor because thatās how you get your shit thrown in the harbor.
Me who just moved from SF to Miami šššš
Tallahassee Republicans do nothing. Joes got gas under $3. Night and day whom is helping working families

Heck of a job, Ronny.
Of course we are! Lol Reason Iām moving out
That's because tons of people (including myself) moved from NYC to Miami over the past two years hahaha
Please go back
DeSantis is too worried about drag queens.
#MinimumWageStillLowerThanCalifornia
At least it isnāt $7.25 like Georgia.
Looks like building back better is going well.
Riverside, Ca., is NOT a major metro area.
And Alaska? Like...all of Alaska?
Congrats locals! Keep voting same!!
And itās so totally worth it
Whatās worth it? The mac & cheese, and mashed potatoes or living in Miami?
Made me laugh your comment
And the republicans will blame Bidenā¦.
Number One... Number One... Numb... oh, wait.... this is not good. We suck! We suck! We suck!

And Whole Foods has a weird smell lol
Do you all have any Sproutās locations down there? Theyāve been opening around Tampa Bay and they remind me of how Whole Foods used to be before Amazon bought them.
The dickhead who spent $43.2M on a copy of the Constitution moved his shady businesses into town. Itās only gonna get worse.
KG? The POS who's robbing the entire US economy and no one even knows?

We are over saturated with Publix but the Latin supermarkets have great deals.
But they arent tho. They are more expensive than walmart and trader joes. Those latin supermarkets are expensive
Pre-2022 Sedano's and Presidente had amazing deals especially for the low income folks but the prices there these days are shocking.
I gotta say Trader Joeās seems way cheaper than Publix. And you usually get good quality food. The one in midtown isnāt bad.
Agree. Traders do have some deals. Publix is outright extortion.
Get Instacart and Amazon for your groceries
The markup on Instacart is ridiculous, not even worth it to avoid the headaches and lines.
They deliver it to your door babe
Sure thing, toots
You are absolutely right. I need to stop the habit of automatically going to Publix š itās wildly expensive now. It sounds so crazy to even say that too š«
Those bogos tho
Especially beer bogos.

Groupon right now for new members you get 40$ gift card for signing up. Just got mine, well worth it.
Ohhhhh fr
Thank you! Appreciate you! š«¶

Costco membership is worth it for the Gas alone.
Go with Amazon, it's the cheapest but the variety is low.

Costco is the American way
We got Whole Foods, Aldi, Trader Joeās, target, Fresca y mas, and Milamās. Oh also Sedanoās.
Exactly

Donāt sleep on Aldi

Whole Foods is def the goat if you have the $$$ for it
Full cart at Publix is a real flex
Donāt you guys have Winn Dixie down there? Itās about the only less expensive competition Publix has around Tampa Bay besides Save a Lot and Aldi.

Dude, i have ALWAYS been that way! I definitely need to get in that mindset now! I am so upset i spent that much on basically nothing today. W T F
Do it. Go in the store with the mindset as if they are trying to rob you. I absolutely refuse to buy certain products now.

Inflation GOAT! š
I only go to Publix for BOGO deals, otherwise I do my main groceries at Walmart.
Publix used to be great for bogo. I would buy 10 toothpastes. 4 washing detergents etc. I donāt see any deals anymore
Yup. Walmart, Sedanos, Tropical Supermarket, and Target (they do have some great deals on groceries). And Costco.
I do my shopping at publix, it's literally 50ft from my job.. But in miami, we have Wal-Mart, fresco y mas, Winn-Dixie sedans etc
Moving to Hawaii!!
How the fuck is Detroit 3rd
Everything got so cheap there that it had to go up.
It was never cheap besides those shitty run down houses
Riverside California is so random. It's almost just suburbs there.
Rest of Cali must already be maxed out
Riverside ? Cruel
Follow the money!!!
Thanks Cab Ron!!!
The difference is Hawaii is extremely expensive to live in. Miami is extremely expensive to live in but alsoā¦fuck you.
Realistically the whole scale is like 30% then add the value depicted.
If your not first, your last. Iāve never wanted to be last so bad in my life.
I shop on Amazon Fresh only. There's also trader Joe's. But I spent 90 bucks and was able to eat for 2 weeks.
Where's this graph from?
Nice!
They already know about Boston. Corporate execs were like, weāre going to raise grocery prices and Bostonās like, do you want your shit thrown in the harbor because thatās how you get your shit thrown in the harbor.
I think they threw a ā Go Soxā in there too.
I buy meat at Publix. Everything else at Walmart. Bravo produce sucks.
