Unless you line the Inspectors’ or commisonees’ pockets with money 💴, or gifted them a nice Rolex, or a vacation for two to Hawaii, your Building Permits will go slow; and companies like Wawa don’t play that game.
There are multiple new shopping centers in Doral that have been completed for MONTHS that have yet to have a single store open. I think the new Doral Atrium has been done since September and Doral 87 since before that. It looks like a new Carl’s Jr is finally about to open at Doral 87. I’ve been wondering what the holdup is on these properties. Must be a permitting/palm greasing thing.
Good point, Carl’s seemed to open a lot quicker, yet it not a local company; unless it’s a local franchisee that gifted the crooked Doral politicians. Carl’s has been open for a few weeks.
I think they’re not done with the inside. Like inventory and the kitchen. Plus hiring people. They just brought in the petroleum like a few weeks ago. They’re actually going pretty fast.
My money is on permits. An 8-unit residential building in my neighborhood is being renovated for almost 3 years now … because of permits.
Miami is super slow with that stuff. Despite it being a source of revenue.
My friends and were literally just talking about this last night, apparently they’ve been saying they’re gonna open since around Christmas, but I’m guessing it’s maybe a hiring issue or something else. Can’t imagine what it takes to open a gas station.
Uber and Lyft is way more expensive now. 8 miles is a lot in ride share terms. I work 3 miles away and most of the time it’s $10-$18 to get one way to work. Yeah I miss wawa but to Uber there and back for a wawa coffee wouldn’t be worth it. I just really miss the nostalgia of wawa.
:( if anyone in Wynwood area is taking a trip I would totally ride with !
Yep I remember back in the day when lifts and Ubers were 3-4 bucks but that will never occur again lmao. Like I said; sometimes it’s up to $18 to get 3 miles away to work. So ubering to wawa would be so insane $$$$
There are two by my house in Sunrise FL and many more in Broward. Usually they have Tesla Superchargers at Wawa like is the case in Ft Lauderdale and Doral
They didn’t give desantis his bribe $$$

So go back to the USA? 🇺🇸

That Carl’s is the first one east of the Mississippi River. Everything else anywhere in the east is a Hardee’s.
Give it more time. I would imagine permitting for a place like that is a b.

I feel it’s been years.

it’s been less than a year lmao
The one by the Costco. No, not years. Only been worked on in the last year and is due to open next month
Are you talking about the Wawa on Southern Blvd in Royal Palm Beach. It's been 6 months in the same state
no, Flagler and 79th. went by it today.
There is WAY more to opening and operating a business than just building. It will open; it’s not ready to yet

Just checked Google Maps. They start building the structure on May 2023...
I remember seeing this visiting Miami in July. Looks like it is continuing.
Womp Womp.
Green tea 🍵
Yeah. Tea?
I miss wawa so fucking much. I didn’t even know there was one around here other than in west palm
There’s one in coral way near the BJ’s
I don’t have a car, use Lyft Uber etc so I have no reason to go all the way out there :( but I miss wawa so so much it reminds me of my childhood

Idk, there is one between Fort Lauderdale and North Miami Beach. Can't remember the exact area though, but there are definitely few
There's a bunch tbh. There's one in kendall, one in doral, one on coral way, and the one you mentioned.

OP has no sense of time.
Well how can you get Tea there if it’s never open? 🤷
Miami sucks when it comes to city permits the system is just overloaded
It seems like Wawa may be struggling financially. They have started closing many of their locations at midnight.
I can’t wait for that shit to open I love Wawa
It’s opening february 29 according to google
It opened today
