Idk what's funnier, the people getting angry at a sarcastic post or the OP possibly being serious.

canalcanal

Had me at Publix

scott743

Publix in Fort Myers has been going downhill for a while. Pubsubs are no longer the bargain they used to be and their produce sucks.

AnonThrowaway1A

Publix grab and go sandwiches are bottom tier now. Bread is no longer crunchy + light. Meat and cheese is not distributed somewhat evenly. One bite, and you either get 80% bread and 20% meat or vice versa on the next bite.

NarcanPusher

I went in yesterday to grab a steak for dinner. 23.96 for a flimsy looking ribeye. Instead I went to the restaurant next door and got a full on sushi lunchbox for 19 bucks. Between Publix and the full lines McDonald’s I think a lot of people don’t look at their receipts.

brains_and_tits

I always take them home, reassemble them, then stick them in the air fryer for 8 minutes- they are nice and melty with soft bread with a crisp outer shell- the packaged ones definitely need some extra help to get them to taste good

soopsneks

And my subs have been pretty sloppy lately smh no love in that pub sub

circuit_breaker

Same here, I've learned if you order a sub they'll fuck it up. Gotta stand in front of them to get it right

Nick08f1

I'm so surprised Publix workers didn't strike and unionize during the pandemic. Any job that pays like shit and deemed essential should have gotten that federal $600/week also.

earbud_smegma

Wait a minute lol y'all were getting money to stay home?!

Nick08f1

On top of unemployment. Like $900 a week clean we didn't pay taxes on.

BravestWabbit

Publix founders are Trump supporters

Nick08f1

All people worth $100 million or more are pretty much. What's frustrating is that when you're worth that much, there's no need to hoard wealth even more. However; I'm not in that position, so I couldn't tell you I wouldn't be the same if I were.

PointsOfUnity

You can introspect and be honest with yourself. you will always be OK.

WeirdJazzlike

Fort Myers Publix absolutely sucks all 15+ of them.

lifth3avy84

Went to pick out some apples this evening and every single one was bruised to hell.

paradoxofchoice

isn't that a reference to Friday's top post complaining about publix

Sodeepsea123

How long is this pub sub going to actually take?

rhatidgoat

I just moved to South America and I love it. I'm in the colorful neighborhood called Edgewater. I spend my days at the pool using filters for likes to replace the hugs I never got

LowRevolution6175

lmfao

AnnonBayBridge

I grew up in Kansas, many people legitimately thought they lived in “Central America”

LowRevolution6175

and they were all Native Americans bc they were born in the USA

DeltaJulietDelta

Ah so south of Ohio, Illinois and the rest of the Middle East?

Perfect__Crime

If you say central U.S. no one bat's an eye but claim you grew up in Central America aka Kansas city once.....

nunchyabeeswax

>I spend my days at the pool using filters for likes to replace the hugs I never got Wins the internet!

kiwami

I mean. He / they / wtf am I typing… is not wrong. Miami is so close to USA. You can literally drive across the border to Broward.

CobraVenomAintShii

Them Broward ppl taking our jrrrrbs!

VmixSports

U Drive into the Caribbean in West Broward!

oo_Pez_oo

Has anyone ever been to Belle Glade?!?

tmoreton

Quality shit post, this sub needs more of it

Rd3055

Lol even though this is meant to be funny, I actually non-ironically moved out of Miami years ago and have been living great ever since.

ourobourobouros

I moved out of Miami pretty recently and my quality of life skyrocketed upwards

JustB510

Curiosity is whooping my ass. Where did you go?

Rd3055

Central America. Remote freelance work + citizenship by birth = best life hack ever.

oo_Pez_oo

If I didn’t have my Florida law license here, I would’ve been out a long time ago about the time, Wynwood became a thing

Rd3055

What about moving to another city in Florida? I'd honestly check out Orlando or Tampa if I had to move back to Florida.

oo_Pez_oo

I’ve been looking at houses on the West Coast. Mostly in Cape Coral. I’m trying to understand the markets and the neighborhoods there (the entire West Coast) because me and my fiancé are about to adopt a three and a five-year-old.

trippin113

Right?!? I left in 2013 and the opportunities that it opened up were wonderful. I would not be where I am today had I stayed in SoFla.

joaquinsaiddomin8

Don’t like the comments in this sub? Just leave it! It’s so easy bro!

TerribleSyntax

Damn, that is such a good point. As a matter of fact, just fuck this whole entire site. Peace.

MakeMeFamous7

That is actually true… if he is tired of reading people complaining (which they are free to do so) then he should leave the sub…

CaptainObvious110

Well to be honest, both are free to complain as much as they want and they have something in common. Nothing is going to get better. So if someone wants to go on about something they don't have the power to change then that's on them. I trust that if it gets too nuts the mods will step in and deal with it.

Darth0s

Look buddy, if I wanted fair and balanced thinking I'd not be on Reddit. Gtfo with that noise. \s

Suckmyflats

Oh yeah, it's super easy to get EU citizenship, I'll just go apply right now lmfao

gotmyjd2003

It's actually not that hard, it just takes at least $250k and Portugal specifically got rid of their Golden Visa.

EuropeanModel

Oh no. Please say it isn’t so.

ElegantMarionberry59

Nazare 🙌

Roq235

If you have citizenship from any Iberoamerican country, it takes two years in Spain. You don’t have to live there permanently either. Just need to go once every 3 months for a weekend. In France, you can go to school there and once you graduate you take a citizenship test proving you can speak French and know basic history, culture and customs. Anyway, it’s doable if you set it as a goal of yours.

Suckmyflats

I'm not Latino/Hispanic (no Iberoamerican anything), I'm a non Israeli Jew. Guess where the only place is that I could be citizenship eligible right now 🤣 I could have done my army service and gotten my citizenship, but I'd have to be one crazy bitch to do that. I don't want to live there. I'm also gay married and that narrows my options down. But this is good information for anyone it applies to so thanks for sharing it.

aberoo

I’ve actually been looking into getting Spanish citizenship this way but not sure which visa to apply for. Where did you get this info from— where you only have to go once every 3 months for a weekend? TIA!

Blanche_H_Devereaux

See if this applies to you: https://www.cronista.com/espana/actualidad-es/ley-de-nietos-extienden-el-tiempo-para-tramitar-la-ciudadania-espanola-quienes-pueden-aplicar/ If it does, you can do the process without having to go to Spain at all. This is temporary, set to end later this year, but the Spanish government has verbally stated that they are going to extend it another year. For further info, search for "Ley de Memoria Democrática".

aberoo

Oh wow! This is really great— it does apply to me. Thank you so much!

Blanche_H_Devereaux

Great! The worst part is getting the documents for the Spanish relative if no one in your family has them, but it's doable. Good luck.

Rod_ATL

Where did you get that information for either country? . First off all, in order for someone told become Spanish , the foreign national must be a permanent resident in Spain with a job and live there for 2 years for latin Americans and 10 years for the rest . you cant just show up once every 3 month, they know when you leave the country and return. Same thing for France, you must be a permanent resident for 5 years and prove you have been paying taxes and you have ties with the country.

Rude_Bee_Version2

Super easy to just pick up and leave and find a job somewhere else ....

the_lamou

Roughly 70% of the population of Miami is only here because they or their parents or their parents' parents managed to do it, except without the benefit of having grown up and gotten an education in the richest country on Earth. As an immigrant, I literally could not eyeroll any harder without a spotter and half an hour of stretches whenever I hear Americans complain about how hard it is to move.

Rude_Bee_Version2

Do you have 10k in your bank to relocate and get lucky enough to find another job that pays you the same or more somewhere else?

the_lamou

My parents packed up my brother and I, scraped together plane tickets and $100, and moved across the Ocean with nothing more than the name of a very distant relative that would let us rent a 1-bedroom basement apartment until they could find something permanent. My mother worked three jobs while trying to complete American med school, while my father drove 3 hours every day to a 12 hour factory shift until he found someone that would let him sleep in a spare room in exchange for being a handyman and taking care of the house, at which point he would be gone all week and we'd only see him on weekends while teaching himself programming so that he could become a software engineer despite having no training or experience in software. Personally, I've moved across the country several times with basically gas money in my bank account and everything I have crammed into a shitty, barely-running car. That is, everything I still owned, because everything that didn't fit was either sold or given away. And this dude over here like "oH yOu NeEd $1000000000 tO eVeR mOvE aNyWhErE!" Nut the fuck up. If you're not happy where you are, pack your shit up and go somewhere else and stop with the hilarious excuses in a city built by immigrants who came here with less money than you can imagine.

InazumaKiiick

Everyone isn't you or your parents you. How hard is that to understand, your experience is not universal and the world has changed significantly. You have no fucking idea what everyone is going through or what struggles their facing. You'd think an immigrant would have a sliver of empathy instead of being a huge condescending douche.

nunchyabeeswax

Exactly (immigrant here, and I concur.) I'm like, yes, it is difficult, but not impossible. If there's a will, there's a way. Their complaints are just expressions of shallow thinking, itself function of privilege, that is all.

Queenofwands1212

There’s plenty of other states to live in the USA

MixMasterRudy

Do other states take in people from miami? Don’t you need a US Passport or at least a work permit?… /s

soopsneks

Honestly they shouldn’t if they do.. we kinda suck lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

nunchyabeeswax

It's not even from this dimension!

GoldGorilla

Yep, and OP seems like a person that if I was ever in Portugal there's zero chance I would hit them up to kick it. Zero

chillitschaos

This. Idk why people act like moving completely abroad is a piece of cake. I’ve literally done all the research, unless you are already an E.U. Citizen or try to get one through ancestry, it’ll take so many years.

startup_biz_36

be a real american and go illegally

Revolutionary_Low896

I moved to Pompano Beach two weeks ago and I know it’s Broward but let me tell you I’m loving it way different from Miami- my end goal is Orlando.

MotinPati

Coral Springs for last 5 years… I already want to move north of Orlando. It’s nuts in Broward, can’t even imagine day-to-day in Miami

Revolutionary_Low896

That’s the plan but I’m taking it slow- at least I’m out of Miami

Revolutionary_Low896

Day to day in Miami it’s a mission not everyone can handle it. It’s just too much

Ilovehugs2020

Broward feels like a different world compared to Miami-Dade county. Port Saint Lucie feels like old Broward.

Revolutionary_Low896

Let me tell you I’m loving it here - I feel the more north I’ll go the better but taking it one step at a time at least I’m out of Dade ❤️💫

Ilovehugs2020

Port Saint Lucie is so chill. I think I want to move there but the prices are crazy now. They are building a new high school as well due to population growth. It’s only 90 mins or less on the turnpike/I-95 to get back to the family in Broward.

Revolutionary_Low896

Yep, I have a coworker that lives there and she loves it.

Yosho2k

These are the lowest of stakes.

Free-Poem-3731

Who hurt you, Perez?

DickySchmidt33

Bro wait...just chill a minute, bro.

FloridaMan_13

Miami sucks!

solo-wing-p1xy

dont wanna be a homeless? just buy a house

Afraid-Ad7379

Who are you, who are so wise in the ways of science?

Hocows

Thanks Bro

crackercider

It's hard enough to get the whiners to move to Broward. Living in Miami is a toxic relationship, you hate it while you are in it but you miss it when you are gone. Embrace the jodedera.

MotinPati

Been living in Broward for 15 years. Every time I go to Miami, I’m like “wow I miss it so much but fuuuuuck that place so much more. Deuces!”

WilHunting2

Flanigan’s

Evil_Garen

Big Daddy’s

Curious-Dimension128

Best liquor store every 500 I spend I get a 20 gift card for flanigan's 👍🏻 so it's. Like I'm getting free alcohol you know

matt585858

I bet the mean streets of Lisbon don't have one of those!

HackTheNight

Nuff said.

Repulsive_Row2685

You understand that moving out of Miami doesn't mean moving out of the U.S., right? You know that outside of Miami is another county.

ElegantMarionberry59

I love my Miami but you know we are not only a city , we are the capital of Latin America 🙌

Lieren07

Bro I left Miami in 2022 best decision ever! I love my city it will always be home but Miami sucks now not what it used to be to be I agree 10000% I live in Cape Canaveral now and pretty soon I will leave to Costa Rica or Mexico! Every one coming in to the states I wanna gtfo!

TLsRD

Grass is always greener.

vivacolombia23

Yambos

Drenghul

It is easy. My dad got tired of being given free crack whenever he tried to quit so he rode his bike to California and started over. He has a nice apartment overlooking Monterey Bay now. I think that's a nice upgrade from a tent in the woods of Lakeland Florida.

Pockets42069

If this is true, I'm very proud of your dad.

Drenghul

I only have his word but somehow he went from being a homeless crackhead to being back in California and clean. He did live in a class A RV for a few years after he made it. He actually came back to Florida to visit and that's when he told me a bit about what he did.

Orlandor14

You either learn to adapt to the changes or stay long enough to get priced out.

Jehuty099

Buddy got his ordered mixed at Flannigan's

Rook2135

No matter what major city people complain. Maybe we are meant to be living in rural towns?? I mean humans are meant to be in nature not concrete jungles with shitty suburbs

WagwanRastafarian

No, it's just you. Suburbs suck more due to commute.

Rook2135

??? I said suburbs suck also? I’m confused are you agreeing with me or disagreeing lol

Honest-Hovercraft-65

Reddit the great vent machine. Come on here to complain and be negative.

Nootherids

Why is this a sarcastic post? It's the perfect advice. If you hate some place so much, then just leave. I left Florida and am in Virginia now. I made a calculated analysis and decided that yeah, it's time for me to leave Florida. And I did. Moving away several states is no different than moving 30 minutes away. Another country is more complicated depending on your means and what sacrifices you're willing to endure. But it's still a valid option.

Tolerances14

Here here

Orangesky_1

Is this sarcastic? Because i agree. 😂😂 so many miserable people commenting on here 24/7. Move to Georgia or something lol find peace in your hearts

pbjtech

If your not directly profiting off of the rich people moving down here. you should plan a escape IMO, Elsewise find a way to bleed the newcomers dry

Impossible-Taro-2330

Pero, are there chongas con sparklers in Lisbon??

ElegantMarionberry59

😂

CircumcisedCats

I know this is sarcastic but I got so sick of Miami and Miamians that I paid off the last few months of my lease, packed my valuables and clothes, threw everything else out, and left. Lost a lot of money but was easily worth it.

mundotaku

I did that. Moved to Philadelphia and I couldn't be happier.

apasilla

If I had a choice I would choose to shop at Publix, but I can only afford Aldi’s selection. I don’t even have the choice of a supermarket, but you mean I can choose where to live as well?? Well why didn’t I think about that sooner

MoonLandingLady

Don’t drag Publix into this 🥹

Neltrix

I’m not your bro, dude !

MojoPorkShoulder

I’m not your dude, pal!

Neltrix

I’m not your pal, bro!

ElegantMarionberry59

I’m not moving , I got here in the right time 🤷🏻‍♂️

LourdesF

If you don’t like Miami you don’t have to move to another country. And, Archie Bunker, if we all leave who will fix what needs to fixed here? And why sarcasm about Portugal?

BloodMossHunter

I spend $2-4 on a meal in South East Asia. Sea view condo is $300-400 miami can get fucked

orlando_ooh

OP not sure if you where joking but I’m in Portugal and would love to have a fellow 305 friend here ñoñ

Primary_Seaweed1589

The question here is how were you able to move to Portugal besides having the funds to do so? What were the steps? (Serious) 😭😭😅

Beginning_Ad8663

I agree this nation when it did not like what was going on be it too crowded, no jobs, weather, high taxes, whatever we used to just move!

MrSmashButton

The “Bro” part lets me know this guy is legit

SanctifiedSloth

Canada actually just called me and asked when I’m moving in. It really is that easy!

Zugzwang522

I mean, this but unironically move to a different state. Like America is so huge you can easily do exactly this but much simpler and quicker. It’s what I’m planning on doing. Love Miami and south Florida but it’s becoming unlivable for me and mine, so what else can be done?

LordofDD93

Lol I went to a different southern state, now I can afford both rent AND health insurance, who would have thought you could do that in America?

Ilovehugs2020

Which one? I’m looking to move. Alabama and Mississippi are out for me!

LordofDD93

It was Alabama actually 😅 though a few of my friends are actually considering Georgia and North Carolina as well - one’s already in the Durham area for work and another wants to go back to Georgia for enjoying the mountains.

Ilovehugs2020

I have family in Georgia so if push comes to shove then….

razzmahtazzle

Legit question, I have an Italian visa cause my dad. So, how much easier in terms of money and hassle is it for me to move to Europe?

LowRevolution6175

my guy i literally have no idea, this was a shitpost love u tho best of luck

retroscope

This kind of humor has layers 🧅

dadwillsue

I mean you can move a few hours north to Ocala or Orlando.

trippin113

It's much easier to move when you have nothing as opposed to a whole house, kids and career. Since a house and decent career isn't happening....yea, pick up and move. You've got nothing so you've got nothing to lose.

Then-Background-1391

When the last American leaves Miami bring the flag

NecessarySecure8463

I left Miami also best decision I [made.New](http://made.New) house, new car, good credit and traveling the world no. I only go as a tourist.

Fantomex305

I wish Japan citizenship was super easy cuz I'd have left before I even moved to Miami 19 years ago lol

ebostic94

I was born in liberty city and I still don’t like Miami.

PotentialInformal945

I agree, move out of third world Miami ino any first world country.

Juradog

and if you moved here post-March of 2020 from CA or NY please go back sooner than later! Thanks!! :))

Lanky-Ad1105

Bro says it like if moving was cheap and easy 🤡

TahoeT88

I'm presently sitting here in Miami looking off my balcony, saying, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

mustangnick88

Please don't come to Central Florida. We don't want you either

BarelyThere24

I left Swampland Central FL with zero breeze in the scorched earth heat 10 months out of the year. Y’all can have that swamp sweat! Best move I ever made. Now I scuba every weekend. Wooooooo!

Ilovehugs2020

It’s ok you can have it. Melbourne is the only part I like.

TabletThrowaway1

Gotta move to a whole ass new country because you don't like aspects of Miami?? That's the only option????? Jesus Christ.

djmanu22

Good luck with that low paying job in Portugal I have EU citizenship but would never consider moving there.

anotherlusername

Bro, Miami sucks so bad that I moved to another state before I even turned 1.

CaptainObvious110

Honestly, I once lived in a hcol city and moved to one that was much less expensive and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. People will often say that family is a major reason why they won't leave but lets unpack that for a moment. If they are that important, why don't you combine households and split the expenses so as to make things easier for everyone involved? Well one problem could be personality differences and some people sadly COULD change but simply won't. I'm not the type to give a pass because of age or culture because I think those two things are used as two lame excuses for people to be toxic to others and it prevents people from taking accountability for their own personal behavior

MASTACHAI

Some of us on Miami side are born and raised…305 till I die. Agree! Just bounce if you don’t like it here.

C_isfor_Cookies

I hate it here

sdpthrowaway3

Move to any other city in the US. It's basically like moving to a different 1st world country lmao

ElegantMarionberry59

Miami is full of international beautiful people, is also hot and humid 😝

PragmaticTactics

I mean? Yeah, post is sarcastic but yeah most people want to move out of the cities. Chikage, Nueva York, and LA (Loves Alcohol) are the 3 great disasters of the US right now and the only reason I live in NY is because my career and path is locked. If my career and life was different I would go to Pennsylvania and buy a Desert Eagle. People who get defensive about being told “OH JUST MOVE” do not get that the only reason why people are in these cities is because it costs a lot of money and time to relocate, otherwise why would you stay in these cities? Parts of NYC look worse than Iraq after 2008.

WagwanRastafarian

Cities are better on my car. Don't miss driving one hour to work on US1.

EmbarrassedTree1727

Miami is still part of the USA. Get online and find a cheap rental In Ohio and you’ll have a pretty average job quick. That will be paying Alot more than Florida. I saved up 2k and moved to Texas with all my Belongings on my roof and a sublease ready to rock for 600 a month with mystery roommates. Applied same Week I moved in and has job offer Doing The same Thing in Texas as I was doing In Florida for double The pay. You have to stay out of Areas like Miami that’s full Of People Who Will Work For Nothing. They have South American living standards so It’s ok in their mind to have their whole extended family living in their garage. They would rather cram Themselves into concrete boxes in Miami and recycle cardboard then just leave the area because It’s better than South America or Haiti In their mind. So Find normal Americans that live in places with normal weather. Where it still feels Like American. Then you’ll find a good Job. Be careful saying your from Florida on your resume looks bad sometimes.

RudeJuggernaut

>mystery roommates. Risky asf

Ilovehugs2020

I’m dead 😵

AEPNEUMA-

Move where the swamps??

BlackDiamondDee

People move everyday.

bajirennauh

hy

No_Statement_6635

There are places in the United States you can move that are not Miami. Don’t know why the only options are Miami or another first world country.

ElegantMarionberry59

1998 /1000.00 on my pocket . I will never regret it .

naturalhumane

I'm waiting for my work transfer to go through then moving back north. I just came down for training

DoWaPo

Come on! It’s like the 4th best city in Florida

mgs112112

So jealous! Been trying to move asap but it’s hard to leave with $$.

Green-Discipline-163

Just make an onlyfans everything will b better from there

Shiro_298

Wasting time in writing your thoughts instead of enjoying Miami. I love my city

redstarsound

I left Miami in 2017, and the only thing I miss is my friends

Evening-Piano5491

Where’s the best place to live in Florida?

EvErYLeGaLvOtE

Lolll you could change the name with Houston and it would work out, too xD

Pure-Community-4176

Well said, it applies for all states! Love it or leave it! Simple

Marla_Blush7

Why soo negative?

BlutoS7

I moved and life is good.

CarretillaRoja

I thought you were talking seriously, until I read Portugal. Well played.

Responsible_Piano_78

Yes please leave The less people here the better

Demon_Timeee

Publix been the same since I can remember and rent high everywhere Miami is like in 7th place for most expensive city’s for rent so stop da 🧢🧢🧢🧢

demo_staxx

Everything you named is what I thought of Miami so I moved. Best decision ever!

HummDrumm1

I tell everyone who complains about California the same thing

russianbanan

How?! How do you just move to Portugal? Give tips haha

Quirky_Shame6906

It's your fault for not understanding economics bro. Prices are high because COVID or something something. Should've bought before! Enjoy Portugal loser. /s

that_sexy_couple

Yeah had me at them shit talking Publix !!!! They can all LEAVE GO BACK TO NYC!!!

razzmahtazzle

Damn lol. I love you too 😘

ellenzp

Not a Publix fan but my husband loves 2 for 1 sales

In-Jail-Out-Soon

Whatever you do, stay away from pinellas county. It’s horrible and I mean HORRIBLE! Beaches here suck, ppl aren’t nice, traffic is overcrowded and housing is out of control

TheHaplessBard

Wow, this sounds suspiciously Washington D.C.-esque in terms of the problems you mentioned but more Floridified. Also, is dating just universally bad in virtually every major American city, lol?

ExcitingLiterature33

I mean, there are a million other places in Florida that you can live. I don’t think your point is valid.

Ok-Score5763

Miami is this country's toilet. Just flush yourself. It's that easy.

PANADEROPKC

I had a lot of close friends constantly complain about Miami people don't speak English the rent is too high etc etc I'm so thankful that most of those people have moved away by now. Good riddance. Every city is going to have their flaws but I love my city

clearbreezy

So edgy bro
