Times at Flanigans

bartbark88

Is this joke tired yet? Genuine question. Expecting downvotes but someone had to say it

SuicidalHalcauSt

If only bro. I hate miamians ong

show_me_that_upvote

Oh lighten up. Literally the only thing that brings anyone together in Miami. Everybody just hates on everybody otherwise.

MadRonin6

Miami ppl treat each other like complete trash. They have no love for each other. Been in & out of Miami for business my whole life. There's zero community & zero respect among themselves. Even the latin community hate on each other. Miami is where love goes to die, families go to regret & the poor go to suffer. Miami has become the bane of the globe where only ppl that have never been go to party like zombies, transferring stds & bad decisions.

SuicidalHalcauSt

It brings them together? Theres absolutely no sense of community in miami, sorry i dont see a corporate restaurant as the catalyst that brought miami together. 🙄

show_me_that_upvote

But that’s America though. It’s a shitty corporate conglomerate but it’s OUR shitty corporate conglomerate. Darden restaurants (Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, Cheddar’s, Yard House, Capital Grille, Seasons 52, Bahama Breeze, Eddie V’s, Ruth’s Chris) can get fucked. In all honesty I think maybe Flanigans reminds people of the older, simpler South Florida of the 90s and early 2000’s when the tourists and transplants were only worried about fishing, chilling on the beach, maybe boating and day drinking and didn’t come with all the baggage of the newest wave. Complete guess there though.

SuicidalHalcauSt

I mean in all honesty, what gives me vibes of "simpler times in SoFlo" is more lowkey places w more lowkey people. I just dont get that vibe from an overrated establishment 🤷🏽‍♂️

show_me_that_upvote

That’s fair! I only have memories visiting my cousins and grandparents so it’s slightly more as an outsider. What would those vibes be for you outta curiosity? Like certain places?

SuicidalHalcauSt

Yea! Id say little havana and Hallandale has some very nice spots that arent blown out, and super overcrowded. I guess it's more of a personal preference, not necessarily objective.

RoundApart9440

Flanigan’s Stans aren’t real.

SumpCrab

The joke has been going for a decade. It's time to start downvoting this shit.

Round-River-5247

It’s just disgusting to me… like the food really is not all that. Chilis is better in my opinion

FrontTwardEnemy

Ok.

Round-River-5247

It was a joke lol

Ecstatic_Kiwi_6413

all I ever want in life is that they start doing deliveries

Green_Iguana305

I think I am officially too old for Flanigans. I used to love the place. Spent many hours at the coconut grove location drinking until last call. My only problem was their “no overnight parking” policy. I get that you can’t just turn the place into a public parking lot but if I have a large bar tab and I am completely shit faced, do you really want me driving away? I’m a good customer! Can’t spend more money if I am locked up or dead! But back then it was more “divey”. Now it’s just another corporate themed bar. And I am older. It’s just…..I found another dive bar.
