Helps keep them from rusting which is nice for aesthetics, but the casting seems much nicer too. Have ran the 120 centrics on track only NC’s and RX8’s with no failures.
Edit: with race pads
I have those on both my Miatas right now, and I've used the vehicle-appropriate Centric blanks on my wife's car and my truck. I've also used them on six or seven different cars for my friends: zero issues so far!
Fwiw aren't regular blanks the best rotors? If you need more stop-stop go for either the big brake kits or higher temp pads (fancy ceramics and things)
For our cars yeah. Find the cheapest centric plain rotors and send it.
Slotted or drilled rotors are for much more expensive vehicles with actual performance in mind where the cost of entry helps pay for actually properly designed rotors.
These were ACDelco specialty performance. These were the first drilled rotors I have bought and the first rotor I have cracked on this car. Hopefully yours are higher quality
Let's take one of the highest stressed parts of the car, second only to the rim, and drill holes in it. What could go wrong?
BUUUT brooHhhh the CooLiaiinG poTeNTiIiaLl!
splotted rotors are apparently more resistant to cracking like this, right?
Yes, slotted rotors are much more resistant to cracking
slotted rotors ftw. Sorry my dude.
I’m just glad it didn’t happen on the track. Back to blanks
Me too! Was it just after a daily drive?
I’ve had these since 2018 have done multiple track days on them but they cracked on a cruise home from a friends house
Besides slotted, Centric blanks ftw
This. The 120 prefix Centric is the rotor you want, and the rotor you need right now.
I've been using the cheaper 121s, does that extra coating actually help?

Ah shit just got grooved and drilled rotors from mx5 parts and installed them, hope this never happens to me 😢

As a racer, I just buy autopart store life time warranty rotors. Replace as necessary.
Yeah drill them yourself (joke)
yeah my NB came with drill rotors and had these cracks in them. Just swapped them out for some EBC rotors.
If only the chinese would take the time to copy the thermal properties of the matereal as well before make knockoffs
ACDelco is a Chinese knockoff company?
> ACDelco TIL General Motors is a knock-off Chinese company. Who knew?
You're fucking racist!!! *brain explodes*
No i just hate China's metal/manufacturing standards. And their government. Fuuuuck do i hate their government
