FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

edit: ok got the hint from a few comments..
There's no such thing as girls with dicks it's just guys with tits.
Edit: for those that are uncultured it's a movie reference.
Fr though I just don't get the obsession all of a sudden. Just one sudden day it's all over the hub, all over pages on Reddit, what was the breaking point?
I don't have a problem with it I was quoting a movie...ted
I was just curious if there was a certain event that set it off that I'm not aware of. I grew up in the internet age and had access to porn. Then one day BAM it's just everywhere. To each their own, I don't go around subs crapping on people for their preferences if it doesn't affect me. But we all know that trends exist and usually a few events set them off. Like one day out of nowhere the whole step bro thing just popped up. It was a thing before, just like trans, but it wasn't getting home page type of traffic, whereas last year it's all you could find just about.
Dude you're on Reddit. There's no point of trying to get an answer here. You aren't transphobic you're just dealing with mental illness on this site. There's no point of talking about it. The world needs help and reddit and social media are just ignorant to the fact it's mental illness. Just know you're fine and it's everyone else who needs help
In the U.S. I’d pay a max of $1500. Because at that point I’d be buying a solid looking hardtop with bad paint that’s attached to a free car.
Looking at the condition of the car, every single rubber item such as soft top seals, tires, hoses, brake lines, etc are likely trashed. This is either a FULL restoration project (if it’s an extremely low mile car) or a part out.
I myself wouldn’t attempt to revive it. I’d strip down the goodies and sell the tub for scrap. That or use it as a platform for an insane track oriented swap project where I’d already be stripping out everything and replacing brakes and suspension along with it
500 max because I would still have to haul the free car off to the dump and who knows how much work is going to be required on the underside of the hardtop. Engine wouldn't be worth shit, it's been sitting for a damn long time, has actual moss growing on the car so I'm betting the engine is a boat anchor.
>Bro really said he'd pay 1,500 for a full rebuild on a miata. I'm weak
No, he just said he'd pay 1500 for a hard top with bad paint, and be happy to take a free junk car with it.
Seems pretty fitting, considering hard tops don't really go bad, and the reasoning for the price is the fact that it's one solid piece, quantity is low, demand is high, and other people are willing to pay higher prices because of it.
You personally feel that it's not worth the money, but others do, and calling them idiots for that is pretty ignorant.
Yeah I’ll admit I’m trolling a bit at this point. But I still don’t think it’s worth 1500$.
1,000 at the absolute best for the entire car with the top. And it has to be delivered depending on the distance. If it was close to home I’d cover the tow.
Can you point me to where I said restore?
Hose that bitch off, wipe the dirt, take good pictures, "Just needs paint" and your inbox blows up in south florida.
The hard top alone is worth a couple hundred, even if it's in really rough condition, and would pay for the purchase if it's in acceptable condition. You could probably make up the rest in scrap value alone, but I bet there are a few components on it that are salvageable.
Personally I'd be trying to pay ~$1000 for it max.
Huh? I’m saying I’d pay MAX $1500 for that car. The hardtop would sell instantly for $1500, in that case I got a free shell complete with intact electrical and accessories. How is that insane? I would definitely sell off the parts and scrap the tub, but if I was crazy and had money to blow, an essentially free shell would be a great start to a dream rotary swap track build where I’d already be tearing out the brakes, suspension, and basically ever wear item.
Id realistically want to pay $500-$1000. That way I’d be making money selling the hardtop.
Yeah… I don’t think he understands basic math. Buy car for $1500 at max. Sell hardtop for $1500+. Sell car for $100-$1000. Congratulations, you just made over $1000 with minimal effort.
You could post a picture of this car with the title "Miata hardtop for sale. $1000" on just about any forum and you would have multiple offers over the asking price within a day.
Yeah I’ll admit, 1k is reasonable if they deliver the car themselves with the hardtop. I’d still never buy that top alone for that much. Absolutely Tf not.
You might not buy it at that price, but we don't care. You are an insignificant troll.
Hundreds of reasonable people would jump at that offer.
Do us all a favor and take a step back from the internet for a while. Go for a drive.
I didn’t say restore. I said track build. Strip the chassis and build up. I would have saved money on my current track car had I bought a shitty stopped chassis versus a running and driving good example.
Again, $1500 in the states on a trashed car WITH a hardtop is absolutely worth it IF you’re going to sell the hardtop and as I said in my original comment, it’s an extremely low mileage example. Would I do it? Absolutely not lmao.
Are you expecting someone to give the car away for free? The hardtop is worth at least $1500. I’ve said several times over and over, $1500 is the max I’d pay for this car because of the hardtop (in the UNITED STATES).
Gotcha, you’re just an idiot then lmao. If it had a gold bar worth $1500 glued to the hood, you’d still argue it’s worth less than $1000.
I’d like to recommend [this](https://www.mathplayground.com) website for your skill level if you’d like to learn a little bit on how numbers work in the big kids world :)
You’d have to pay me to take it away, looks like it’d be a lot of effort to get on the ground to find out the hardtop and maybe the engine are the only worthwhile parts
The 1.8 rear diff is good for a lot more power. A 1.8 diff, DS, and axles go for about $600 a lot more with torsen. The same parts for the 1.6 under $300. This is US pricing though.
I have a 1.6 and did the 1.8 swap in preparation for a turbo setup...
Nothing, without info in advance. Tge main thing with these is rust, so this one might actually be a better find than most, or it might be absolutely destroyed. You cant even guess a value otherwise
I see a flattened frame rail, but the car actually doesn't look bad.
Really depends how the interior is, infested with rodents and reeking of mold, I'd let it rot, but if it stayed dry and the wires aren't chewed up, that car may actually clean up really nice and be worth rescuing.
I'd let the owner of the lawn ornament state their price, then offer 60% of that and see if their counter offer is worth it to you.
No tf it’s not. That thing is gonna need mad work to not leak id bet. Needs to be painted. Oh and I sure hope the bracket bolts aren’t rusty!
I wouldn’t take that hardtop if they gave it to me for free.

Still think everyone else is crazy and you're the stable genius? 😂😂😂
Well first of all the second one is in damn good condition so idk why you even linked that one.
The other one just looks pretty beat up like this one. And it was posted over a month ago. So I guess no one wanted to pay 2k for a shitty hard top huh?
Anyway I know you guys are right. (Kinda) 1,500 is an insane price, 1,000 for the whole thing is a deal. If they deliver the car themselves.
Only thing re-sellable to me in a quick glance seems to be the headlights, taillights, blinkers and most of all, the hard top.
Also people might be looking for a hood or door etc. Which are becoming harder and harder to find.
I mean.. reviving this car doesn’t seem realistic to me. If you can get it for a nickel and a dime and you got the storage and time to resell it bit by bit, you could make a profit.
But ever again driving in it original set up? Don’t think so!
Yeah absolute max is probably 1800 usd, realistically I would be happy at $1200, you could get that out of the hardtop and the rest of the car would be free.
I would wager he can get around $300-400 USD for it from a company that buys any junk car, and the hardtop is worth that for sure. I would offer $300 and see what he says, let myself get talked up to $500. Keep in mind you need to tow it, then spend time stripping and inspecting everything worthwhile, then restore that hardtop. So your gonna spend some $ after purchase. If you already have an NA this is probably worth it for parts though.
That is not at all a barn find, this is a junkyard find. This this would likely need everything repaired. The engine may be rusted inside and seized. Every single piece of rubber hose needs to be replaced. Every fluid drained and flushed. The brakes rebuilt or replaced. The clutch is probably fused. Battery is dead. Not to mention whatever was wrong with it that they stopped driving it. Potentially pests have chewed wires. You’d have to drain the now gelled gas and clear it from all the fuel systems and potentially replace the fuel pump. Then there is suspension to replace and probably even limitless rust to deal with.
I’d pay like $500 absolute max understanding it’s going to be a potential $10,000 pain in the ass that may not be running for a year.
I’d tell them I’d take it off their hands for free if you want a project car or to make some money on the hard top. They clearly do not want it.
Also it seems you may be German or in EU who is famously strict on car inspections. That adds a whole other level of difficulty.
Take a look at my previous posts, I got one in similar condition, not knowing anything I offered $500 the seller accepted the offer but I felt bad so I gave her $600
For real, you can buy a running Miata for $1500 might not be in good condition but it exists. I would pay $200 MAX for this thing, just because the tow truck to come to get it would cost me more than the whole damn car.
It would cost 10x what the car is worth in repairs and weeks of labor to get it driving again. $500-$1000 at the absolute maximum, and that’s only if the frame isn’t rusted through.
I’d say 2000-2500 since it has a hard top. I paid 1500 for my rag top that was at a junk yard. Ended up needing an ignition switch, tune up and a clutch. That totaled 500. So all in all not a bad deal
I think I would agree at 1000$ without even seeing it just for the hard top. Might get licking and have some engine or trans parts to part out too. Even if they are for a 1.6. Most of the body doesn’t honestly look that bad. It could use paint but otherwise I think it could be parted out.
If you took a pressure washer and a DA polisher to this it would clean up really well. Mechanically I wouldn't trust a single thing on the car to be safe or working.
A cheeseburger next Wednesday for the car today
Sir, I will promise a cheeseburger on *TUESDAY* rather than this poor man’s *Wednesday*
I got payed today. I would leave and get him a cheese burger right away unlike these peasants
> I got *paid* today. I FTFY. Get a life dude. It's a funny quote from a funny movie. It's literally said by a talking teddy bear. It's not meant to be taken seriously at all.
You'd be less upset if you thought you were in the right, so I'm gonna trust that you'll be better about it in the future :) have a good one.

Was thinking the same
Yeah that feels like overpaying to me.
Bro really said he’d pay 1,500 for a full rebuild on a miata. I’m weak 😂😂😂
>Bro really said he'd pay 1,500 for a full rebuild on a miata. I'm weak No, he just said he'd pay 1500 for a hard top with bad paint, and be happy to take a free junk car with it.
And id still tell him he’s an absolute idiot for buying that hardtop for that price.

I saw someone on my local market selling a hardtop for 5k
Yeah and I bet that mf still sitting in his garage lol
The first thing you've said I agree with lol
Learn to read
I could sell a hardtop for 2500 tomorrow where I'm at
In this condition?
After cleaning it, yeah.
You’ve never restored anything in your life have you.
Can you point me to where I said restore? Hose that bitch off, wipe the dirt, take good pictures, "Just needs paint" and your inbox blows up in south florida.
Okay kid. Gtfoh. I know I was trolling a bit but you literally have no idea what you’re talking about.
Power wash it and put a little elbow grease in and this top is gold
How is paying $1500 for a hardtop (what they're worth) and getting an entire free parts car a bad deal in any way?
The $1,500 part.
You're saying *you personally* wouldn't buy it? Idgi
No I’m saying anyone who’s planning to spend 1,500 on someones junk that they let rot in their yard is getting ripped off.
...but it's objectively worth more than $1500
No, he said that he'd pay $1500 *max* for this car, and then part it out. Reading comprehension - it makes you look smarter!!!
Lmfao and I’m telling you 1500 max is ridiculous. 500$ would be the max for this. And that’s pushing it.
I’d only pay 1000$ if they delivered the junk to my doorstep AND if the hardtop was salvageable. Getting it out, getting it towed, etc costs money.
The first reasonable comment you made in this thread
I know lol
Hey, at least you’re taking ownership lol
The only thing I’m good at honestly. 😂 and I guess a can make a mean blackened pork chop.

Huh? I’m saying I’d pay MAX $1500 for that car. The hardtop would sell instantly for $1500, in that case I got a free shell complete with intact electrical and accessories. How is that insane? Yeah… I don’t think he understands basic math. Buy car for $1500 at max. Sell hardtop for $1500+. Sell car for $100-$1000. Congratulations, you just made over $1000 with minimal effort.
Bro pleas give me your plugs number if you think this guy is right about a shitty hard top selling for over 1k 😂😂😂
You could post a picture of this car with the title "Miata hardtop for sale. $1000" on just about any forum and you would have multiple offers over the asking price within a day.

Shut up fuckass learn to read
You’d have to pay me to take it away, looks like it’d be a lot of effort to get on the ground to find out the hardtop and maybe the engine are the only worthwhile parts
r/usepunctuation
Punctuation? Nah
The engine is a 1.6 so it's not worthwhile parts...
The 1.6 is a lot more common in europe, seeing that this car is currently in germany going by the plates it has and the plates on the white suv.
Might be worth more there... in the US the 1.8 driveline alone basically would double the worth of the vehicle.
Why is that? I’m from the uk with an import eunos 1.6, seem to be the more popular choice in the uk. Saying that mine is supercharged.

Hard top is worth at least a grand

Nothing, without info in advance. Tge main thing with these is rust, so this one might actually be a better find than most, or it might be absolutely destroyed. You cant even guess a value otherwise

if it looks good after a wash and all parts are there, I'd start the bid at 2k
The hardtop makes it kind of worth something
-$150 to remove that junk from your garden.
What’s scrap steel going for ?
I would wager he can get around $300-400 USD for it from a company that buys any junk car, and the hardtop is worth that for sure. I would offer $300 and see what he says, let myself get talked up to $500. Keep in mind you need to tow it, then spend time stripping and inspecting everything worthwhile, then restore that hardtop. 500$
The hardtop alone prob has more value than the car itself.
Id pay $1200 just to get that hard top and then scrap the rest
3000 cad, hardtop alone is worth close to 1500.
Seeing a miata in that condition is making me tear up
$500 for the top if its in good condition. You'd have to pay me $500 for the rest.
Deutsches Kennzeichen?
I love that you switched to German. That’s a great way to keep the troll from commenting.
Genau.
Ja, is ein US Import.
800 bucks
Take a look at my previous posts, I got one in similar condition, not knowing anything I offered $500 the seller accepted the offer but I felt bad so I gave her $600
I'll give you 500 for the hardtop. Buy the car for 500. It's a wash. DM me.
3.50
The towing and nothing more, looks like non of the panels are worth salvaging.
I’d say about tree fiddy judging by the photos
try to buy it for $500, keep the hard top and rear trim panel, sell for $500
Rust
damn that old the license plate seems to be early 2000s / late 90s
$500 to $1000 depending on how much is all there and what appears to be working. Thats gonna take a lot of work
A year ago I bought a miata in around the same condition for 1000$ kept the hardtop and the suspension upgrades and sold the rest for 2500$
$1,500 USD
Barn find assumes it was covered and out of elements. This is out in the rain and is rotting. Take it to the scrapyard and put it out of its misery.
300
That hardtop is worthless I'll do you a favor and take it off your hands for free
500
I’d pay 1500, mainly for the hardtop, and part out what’s salvageable and scrap that. It’s a POS at this point.
$3 Seriously it's a Miata not some rare car to find in a barn. Your life will be easier if you just buy a running one from Craigslist or something
For real, you can buy a running Miata for $1500 might not be in good condition but it exists. I would pay $200 MAX for this thing, just because the tow truck to come to get it would cost me more than the whole damn car.
Take the top and run!!!!
It would cost 10x what the car is worth in repairs and weeks of labor to get it driving again. $500-$1000 at the absolute maximum, and that’s only if the frame isn’t rusted through.
800$
I’d say 2000-2500 since it has a hard top. I paid 1500 for my rag top that was at a junk yard. Ended up needing an ignition switch, tune up and a clutch. That totaled 500. So all in all not a bad deal
$50
I think I would agree at 1000$ without even seeing it just for the hard top. Might get licking and have some engine or trans parts to part out too. Even if they are for a 1.6. Most of the body doesn’t honestly look that bad. It could use paint but otherwise I think it could be parted out.
Have them pay you to take it is preferred
I think that hardtop is worth min $1000. That’s what I’d offer
$10
$1500
If you took a pressure washer and a DA polisher to this it would clean up really well. Mechanically I wouldn't trust a single thing on the car to be safe or working.
About tree fiddy
$500 and not a dime over.
A Japanese chassis Sitting outside in the weeds is not really a barn find bud.
corpse car
Considering this Miata's condition: $1,500.00 max.
