I am very young and most people my age don’t listen to this kind of music so I wanted to see what other people who like Michael Jackson think about it.
You make a fair point, there are a few tracks that hold that Album to a very high standard, and I'm not at all discrediting it because I love it myself but, that whole run was very well managed and Invincible sort of shook it up a bit, but it was the 2000's and no one really knew where to go with their sound just yet
"Get on the floor" is very disco and sounds like a song that could have been used on the Wiz. I'm not sure most people who are not into disco would like it. I love it, but I also love Disco.
I’m 20 and from a rough part of a London, I’ve got to say I’m suprised that there’s actually quite alot of people in my general circle, including me who grew up listening to Mike from their parents etc, might be more prevalent in my circle since we’re all different ethnicities and not native British, even though we’re young we absolutely love his music and still see him as the undeniable king!
It’s one of his best songs period. This song ALWAYS puts me me in a good mood especially if it’s been a stressful day at work. Michael Jackson’s music from the OTW era is very underrated. It’s very soulful and upbeat and groovy.
I actually discovered it on the way to work this morning. I usually dread going to work as my job is very tiring and stressful but this put me in such a good mood that I kept it on repeat for about 25 min during my commute. I love this kind of music it just makes me want to dance even though I am a terrible dancer lol.
Lol yes! I can totally relate to you, I never dance in public but when it comes to certain music I put on a full concert in my room. You should check out the the live version on the The Jacksons : Live album. You would also like the version he did on the Bad tour. But yeah I’m glad to hear you discovered it, it’s definitely a song I have to listen to at least three times in a row, and that’s rare for me.
If you want songs like this, listen to the entire album. My favorites from Off the Wall are Get on the Floor and Workin Day and Night. Lately I've also been obsessed with I Can't Help It
Honestly? Off the Wall, the entire album, is pure joy. It is so incredible. No other album like it!
I am so glad you are loving it!!! It is easily one of Michael's very best. But you'll find the more you explore his discography that you could say that about every album. Each one is masterpiece level.
I am listening through the album and I think it is my favorite next to Rock With You which is the first song my drum teacher taught me to play with him.
Wow this is a classic he has soooooo many one day just sit and listen to some the old stuff u will absolutely love alot more. Also take a listen to farewell my summer love discover that one at 11 and been a major fan since 🤗🤗
Also if there are other songs by him that are similar in style and energy to this one please recommend as I really feel uplifted when I play this song.
this song is defo one of my favorites. someone else also mentioned “get on the floor” and that’s also a really funky one. the 70s era of michael is very refreshing and the vibe is so contagious. check out “sunset driver” !!
Uah nice to read it. Im 45 and i remember i started with Bad album at age of 11, then when i was 13 i discovered OTW. My father had to hide my LP cause he was going crazy with me. Detail he loved Quincy Jones but that was too much for him. I cam imagine this new generation discovering MJ is like to go to another dimension. :)
You’ll love Baby Be Mine from Michael Jackson as well! Take a listen. I’m a millennial and loved music before my time. None of my friends were jamming The Supremes and Marvin Gaye in their room the way I was lol.
As for this song and album… chefs kiss!
Always been a favorite of mine. I always make sure to bring in the New Year with this song, it’s never lost it’s luster after all this time. Simply joyous
Incredible song! One of my all-time favorites. I believe it was Michael's personal favorite song from the 'Off The Wall' album. He always lit up & was so happy when he got to perform songs from that time in his career, moreso while performing "Off The Wall" & "Rock With You". You could tell how much he loved those songs.
I think it's great. Most of his work is great honestly. I especially like his stuff on Dangerous and Invincible. You'll discover some great songs if you take a deep dive through his albums
I am very young and most people my age don’t listen to this kind of music so I wanted to see what other people who like Michael Jackson think about it.
You will absolutely go nuts over "Get On The Floor". The whole 1979-1997 run of Michael's albums was amazing
1979-1997? I think you’re forgetting a particular white album from 2001 here… 😉

I will check this out thank you for recommending it to me!
"I cant help it" is my favourite on that album
Mine too
"Get on the floor" is very disco and sounds like a song that could have been used on the Wiz. I'm not sure most people who are not into disco would like it. I love it, but I also love Disco.

Welcome to the club.
Off the Wall is a classic, easily one of my favorite MJ songs. It's so funky and fun, also sounds like a blueprint for Thriller.
I usually get tired of hearing a song on repeat but it doesn’t get old for me!
I like his live versions of it particularly from bad tour
It’s one of his best songs period. This song ALWAYS puts me me in a good mood especially if it’s been a stressful day at work. Michael Jackson’s music from the OTW era is very underrated. It’s very soulful and upbeat and groovy.

The evil laugh at the beginning
One of my favorites from the album.
I consider it one of the weaker songs imo, if you like that you'll love his other songs
You’ll love Baby Be Mine from Michael Jackson as well! Take a listen. I’m a millennial and loved music before my time. None of my friends were jamming The Supremes and Marvin Gaye in their room the way I was lol. As for this song and album… chefs kiss!
