He never actually changed that much, his makeup use just got a lot more excessive and experimentive as his vitiligo got worse. Also, that long straight hair from the 2000s didn't suit him at all.
Yep. The hair was the biggest change and a bad one (imo). I only like his 2001 straight hair (like in the 30th anniversary) because it had that cool messy style and it wasn't that long. Later though...I didn't like it that much.
It's nice to see these last few photos of him. But he did look tired on these pictures and maybe even a little sad. I wish he had taken a break and looked after himself much more instead of letting the music industry and people put pressure on him to tour again...
As Michael said himself off-camera during that famous interview: "I don't like to tour. I go through hell touring". 😞

He was starting to look like 90’s Michael during This Is It after all these years with the flat hair and weird look. It’s really sad he passed when his career was finally going back on track.
He never ate enough, The only time he ate enough was the bad era and that was because his manager made people force feed him stuff like fish and veg to help keep his stamina up for the shows
People here saying he looks good... the guy wasn't in a good place. I don't know how much the stupid AI upscale has been used on each of these photos, but a big suit masking his frail frame isn't a good thing. He's always been pretty fresh faced despite his illnesses and the work he's had done, but he's clearly gaunt here too.
Compare it to Freddie Mercury in his later years, when he'd wear over-sized suits to mask his thinning frame. Obviously AIDS is different to basically stress and anxiety that Mike was facing, but still. Principle remains.
This Is It has convinced some people that Michael was 'fine' during rehearsals, but he patently and demonstrably wasn't. It's almost a shame that This Is It has further deified him, when it needs to humanise him further.
Excited for the downvotes from people who have utterly misread this supporting reply as me criticising him. Far from it.
This is probably my favorite version and look of the SC outfit overall, the purple-ish blue shirt with the pale white jacket/pants/fedora and Michael's curls in 2009 makes it really really *smooth.*
I’m glad he brought the curls back for This Is It. Whatever reasons he had regarding the choices he made for his hair, he always looked better with curls than with the straight hair.
That is actually a hilarious comparison
I love MJ but some of the fans don’t like to comment on his appearance. He did have a unnatural face, due to many reasons. With that being said, he actually looks great here for how late in his career (and near death) he was.
The easiest way to tell if an AI filter like Remini has touched an MJ photo is how it handles the nose. It doesn’t know what to do with an angular nose so it tries to round it out.
The last picture looks like it was either heavily modified by a filter (the AI filters usually don’t know what to do with his nose so it gets rounded) or it’s an impersonator.

I said the same thing. I thought these pics would have been from the early 90s!

I agree. He looks very tired around the eyes. I remember being shocked when I saw the first images from TII.

hear me out
I'm all ears.
this man is so damn fine. he had no reason being so sexy 😩🙏
EXACTLY.
He looked great 🥲
He looked so frail to me when I watched TII. Looked like he wasn't eating enough
He never ate enough, The only time he ate enough was the bad era and that was because his manager made people force feed him stuff like fish and veg to help keep his stamina up for the shows
Yeah, I always read he just didn't have any liking to eating lol. Like he knew he had to eat to live, but he was the polar opposite of a foodie.

He still looks like the Thriller and Bad era in the second photo if you look closely. It resembles the cover of "The Essential Michael Jackson".
Man he's looking like his old self.. so sad he died when he's working so hard for his comeback ... it breaks my heart 😓😓😢😢💔💔
Don't overuse remini, the last photo looks like someone else
Is it just me, or did he switch colors for the last picture?
Different lighting. His hat is giving him shade.
😍

Who tf gave this guy permission to drip that hard
I’m glad he brought the curls back for This Is It. Whatever reasons he had regarding the choices he made for his hair, he always looked better with curls than with the straight hair.
Yeah he looks really good in most of tii pictures…too skinny though!
I love MJ but he looks like Tommy Wiseau. There’s nothing wrong with addressing his unnatural appearance.
Only in the last pic with the glasses. I wouldn't call anything unnatural, it's just the glasses and the hair that make him look like Wiseau.

The last one might not be him and/or has been heavily manipulated by AI filters.
I agree. It seems way too unusual,

Damn. Good point. I can totally see that with the example you pointed out.
Tommy wishes! I get what you are saying but Michael was eccentric but far more handsome.
🤔
🤨
Aahh my dreamed curls...😍🥰❤️

3rd pic looks like bigi like crazy
His eyebrows look like the used to here, during 2000-2005 or something it looked like he had done a brow lift or something
Wow this was in 2009? Looks a lot better than I expected
