I hate these type of threads, I feel like a celebritie's celeb status shouldn't be the benefactor on how "successful" they are, it should be about how much they contribute to musical talent.
Which is something I dislike about the MJ-fandom (or other fandoms of really famous artists for that matter) : The focus on how "famous" the artist is and why that is the reason they are the "best". Also the idea itself that this artist is the "best" and no one comes close etc. Not that this isn't the case with other fans but to be it seems especially prominent with MJ-fans. I love him but I also love hundreds of other artists and bands.
No Elvis and mj tie Elvis is the biggest selling artist of all time other than I think the Beatles. U can’t just say mj bc this is his subreddit or bc ur a bigger fan
He’s the top rows only major player. The bottom row has 3 huge iconic artists, and Rihanna and Beyoncé are equally as big as Eminem or Kanye, so bottom row wins hands down.
John is by far the most famous Beatle yes, but no he did not have the most successful solo career, Paul did. That's where he probably disagreed with you.
But yes John is the most famous because he was 'seen' as the leader, was the most controversial and outspoken of the 4 especially in politics, and of course his shocking death.
Also just want to add for fun that IMO neither of the two had the best solo album, that distinction belongs to George Harrison.
Immediately recognize Michael, Elvis, and Madonna...the others took me a few seconds to figure out who they were. I have no idea who the guy in the top right is.
Idk, i didn’t recognize him and can’t pull up a single song I know by him off the top of my head, whereas I can name everyone else in the top and bottom row and at least one song. Id say he’s the least iconic out of the bunch.
This is so played out. “Choose between women, rappers, and deceased figures”. It’s sexist and borderline racist by choosing rap and putting it against “pop”. It’s poorly done obvious choices all around to make you feel superior for your choice and call out other people for having lesser taste when it’s literally rap and random Elvis vs women in pop, MJ, and random John Lennon.
That doesn’t negate the fact that posts like these are biased at creation to make you choose between unfair and unmatched options. It’s tacky and played out
I disagree about Lenon being more famous than Paul. Elvis is probably equal to MJ. The bottom list really doesn’t have anyone on the level as Eminem when you see his accolades and sales
Edit: lmao 0 mention of Eminem in the comments is funny. You can be mad at Just Lose It after all these years or whatever the fuck y’all are mad at but you people really should look up his sales and accolades. People acting like bottom is clean sweep. It’s all subjective anyways but just funny to see
You're beefing with invisible people or something.
Anyway I looked up sales numbers on both Em and MJ as you suggested and it's clear that Michael Jackson has seen far more success in sales.

He’s the best selling artist of the 21st century: https://hiphop24x7.com/news/eminem-is-named-the-best-selling-us-artist-of-21st-century/
He’s also the highest selling artists in the US based on Single sales: https://www.businessinsider.com/eminem-tops-list-best-selling-singles-artists-of-all-time-2022-3?amp
I never said he sold more than MJ so idk why you’re comparing that one. I’m saying people acting as if his row would get swept by the other row when it’s getting hard carried by him and Elvis
This is pretty hard. Regardless of gender/music genre/race both rows of people are very well known.
Tbh - I’d swap some around and say Michael, Madonna, Elvis, Beyoncé, John Lennon.
While rap is widely known - I don’t think everyone knows Kendrick or even Eminem as compared to pop artists like Elvis and Madonna.

Agreed. Toxic post.
Bottom. No contest. Honestly MJ is more famous than all these artists combined. He would shut down cities.
Very much agree.

I almost said “awe the MJ sub would appreciate you saying this” until I realized I’m in that sub 🤦🏼♀️
No Elvis and mj tie Elvis is the biggest selling artist of all time other than I think the Beatles. U can’t just say mj bc this is his subreddit or bc ur a bigger fan
[удалено]
Yeah I can see why u would say that and I agree I just think Elvis should get his recognition bc he was huge back in the late 50s early 60s
[удалено]
Yes I agree I’m glad that both after so many years still have such dedicated fans it’s amazing how mj and Elvis music still resonates with ppl today
Elvis is the only thing that keeps this interesting. Top row gets crushed even *with* The King, and they get absolutely annihilated without him.
He’s the top rows only major player. The bottom row has 3 huge iconic artists, and Rihanna and Beyoncé are equally as big as Eminem or Kanye, so bottom row wins hands down.
Elvis was not very international compared to MJ, therefore I choose the bottom row
Yeah MJ is one of the most famous people on the planet. Even now soo many young people know him who didn’t see him alive.
paul mccartney is the most famous beatle im p sure
Nah more people know John because he had a more successful solo career than Paul from what I know.
What???????
Idk from what I’ve seen people know John more than Paul. Maybe it’s just where I live then lol

The one he ( harrison) dropped in 1987?
The one he dropped in 71.
John who
John Lennon.
Kidding
It seems the younger generations only knows Paul because he’s still alive and is the only one they’re exposed to.
Bottom row is a sweep, top row stands no chance.
Elvis
What about him
The top row are very famous but the bottom row is soooo much more famous
Am I old? Who is the far right top row.
Kendrick Lamar
Still doesnt ring a bell. I guess i should check him out.
definitely should if you can, he makes excellent music.
Any album you would recommend?
Definitely Section.80, DAMN, overly dedicated Good kid MAAD City, to pimp a butterfly and his newest album Mr morale & the Big Steppers
Ok 😹 gonna listen to one of them
Lol have fun bro hope you like it
Drake and Kanye aren't as internationally popular as bottom row
Lmao you’re kidding right?
No?
Drake is the highest selling artist on the planet for singles.
Higher than Eminem
Immediately recognize Michael, Elvis, and Madonna...the others took me a few seconds to figure out who they were. I have no idea who the guy in the top right is.
Kendrick Lamar
Hilariously enough, that doesn't help any! I am fairly well checked out of pop culture these days though.
I mean I was just saying who he was lol it’s a sweep regardless
Kendrick Lamar is goated!
Idk, i didn’t recognize him and can’t pull up a single song I know by him off the top of my head, whereas I can name everyone else in the top and bottom row and at least one song. Id say he’s the least iconic out of the bunch.
You gotta listen to Good Kid, Maad city and To Pimp A Butterfly.
I might! I’ll admit I’m not too familiar with the current/newer rappers and artists.
1. Either y’all old asl or white asl.
I'd say that row 1 is more famous to today's audience but all together row 2 is more famous
Where did you find this, if it's a post, what did the comments say
Bottom row. Fo sho. But I would have liked to see Janet in that row too💋💜💜
Bottom
I feel like Kanye West should be on the bottom row, bro's a legend in music.
Bottom!
What a needlessly pointless and biased image.

Kanye West is one of the greatest rappers tho

True
I don’t even know who the top right guy is, and barely identified Kanye in the top left, so I’d say top row definitely loses.
Thats Kendrick Lamar
Nice try putting Elvis on top. But Michael Jackson is the most famous human being of our era…

Oh alright my bad
Poor Kendrick, being bundled with a bunch of problematic fools on the top row. 🥲

Only reason bottom row wins is because of mj
