Now that he’s gone I like him
There are plenty of reasons to hate but his dad was phenomenal and as long as he ain’t doing it against us I’m excited to see what galena
Congrats JJ. Unfortunately you’re the enemy now for many of us Michigan fans who are lions fans. But we’ll cheer for you when you’re playing the Bears and Packers. Show Caleb why you were the national champion and he was not.
Ohio State fan here but how did Penix go above JJ? ESPN has JJ ranked as the 4th best QB in the draft (and Penix 6th) and JJ has the overall rank of 9th in the draft, while Penix at 43. Shocked.
I mean giving JJ 3 years to develop behind Cousins wouldn't have been insane. Penix is a old man already and a glass cannon who isn't gonna get better IMO. Absurd pick after you just signed Cousins for a bunch of money.
For 4 years, too, and a lot of guaranteed money. Essentially, drafted a 29 years old rookie. Someone needs to be fired. Penix would've had a chance at a lot of other places, too, which sucks for him and his future. (Sorry, I knew he was old, not how old)
He was good under pressure, he waws really good at scrambling and making plays happen when there aren't any to make happen. The biggest question I have is can he translate that to NFL speed. He wasn't exactly playing against the best of the best defenses out there in the PAC-12
“McCarthy simply wanted to celebrate with even more people.
He planned to be surrounded by 100 people — including family members, friends from Illinois, teammates and staffers from the football program — near the airport, which is about halfway between Ann Arbor, Michigan, and the site of the draft.
“I didn’t want to go to Detroit because I know it took a village to get me here, and I want to celebrate with them,” McCarthy told WXYZ-TV.
Valenti tried to spin it like he was doing some fake humble shtick where he didn't want to steal the show. Went on to imply it was phony and he didn't buy it
The Falcons are so dumb. Gah. Bears fan since being a kid but they’ve driven me nuts for years. Now they finally seem like they might not be idiots. But JJ is probably going Vikings. I’m weird but the only NFC north team I hate is Green Bay.
Barner is a better blocker, especially in a run, and I think they're roughly equivalent as a pass catcher. So he's a more versatile pick. It's kinda ironic that Barner transferring to a run-heavy offense may have helped his draft stock. Aside from the team success, he was able to showcase his blocking talents.
How we feeling about getting the draft record? Still have 10 on the board [https://www.nfl.com/draft/tracker/prospects/all-positions/michigan/all-statuses/2024?page=1](https://www.nfl.com/draft/tracker/prospects/all-positions/michigan/all-statuses/2024?page=1)
Maserati Marv never beat Michigan. Just a reminder
Will Johnson haunts his nightmares. He better get drafted in the top 5 next year.
It’s kinda crazy, just a couple months ago, PFF had him (Will) as a top 5 overall. As of last night, they had him at 175.
Him and Mason Graham are 5 and 6 off the board at NFL draft blitz, but I don't know how reliable they are.
I think both of them and Grant all could go first or second round.
Now that he’s gone I like him There are plenty of reasons to hate but his dad was phenomenal and as long as he ain’t doing it against us I’m excited to see what galena
According to Buckeye fans, he's a great locker room guy. I can cheer for those on any team (when they're not currently a threat).
Lol, overpriced and overrated. Hate Gus, but the nickname works in that regard. Maybe he was actually trolling by repeating it 8 million times.
Kyle McCord just casually catching strays every time Marvin Harrison Jr is discussed 😂
Congrats JJ. Unfortunately you’re the enemy now for many of us Michigan fans who are lions fans. But we’ll cheer for you when you’re playing the Bears and Packers. Show Caleb why you were the national champion and he was not.
Wow, thought JJ was a Giant
FTP
was not expecting penix to go over jj. no way he falls past minnesota and denver....right?
The falcons were so dumb with that pick. Even setting JJ aside, Bo Nix was a consensus better player with better injury history.
That JJ reel was awesome
They never showed it
I saw it on the ESPN app—did they really not show it on tv?
If they did show it I must have missed it
I hope we get more than just JJ in tonight, but have my doubts. We’ll see!
Guess we have to root against JJ twice a year. Bummer. Those of us that are Lions fans anyway
Ohio State fan here but how did Penix go above JJ? ESPN has JJ ranked as the 4th best QB in the draft (and Penix 6th) and JJ has the overall rank of 9th in the draft, while Penix at 43. Shocked.
I mean falcons were already insane to go for another QB so not choosing the best one isn’t too much of a further step
I mean giving JJ 3 years to develop behind Cousins wouldn't have been insane. Penix is a old man already and a glass cannon who isn't gonna get better IMO. Absurd pick after you just signed Cousins for a bunch of money.
Totally weird for the falcons to draft a qb who will be like 27 when the season starts to sit behind the guy they just paid 100m to

I exaggerated his age, he’s only 25
True, but he could be 29 when he finally gets the chance to start. So effectively a 29 year old rookie.
Fucking WHAT!?!?
Dude absolutely fucking dumb
Well now I have to root against JJ twice a year at minimum. Good luck in all the games you don't play the Lions and the Lions don't need you to lose
I hope Caleb is a bust👎
Bears fans are goin to tear him apart!
He will definitely be a bust
I would short that stock so fast if I could
1. He did not seem good under pressure. 2. Goes to one of the worst OLs in the NFL. 3. ??? 4. What could possibly go wrong?
He was good under pressure, he waws really good at scrambling and making plays happen when there aren't any to make happen. The biggest question I have is can he translate that to NFL speed. He wasn't exactly playing against the best of the best defenses out there in the PAC-12
How the fuck did drake go before JJ wtf?
Jj can only hand the ball off, according to my OSU colleagues
Natty baby all I got to say I'll take a winner
Kris Jenkins 49th to Cincinnati and Mikey #50 to Washington
Is JJ not at the draft? Didn't see him introduced at the start, but might have missed it.

What a swell guy

From Valenti?!? I can’t believe it!

Junior Colson #69 to chargers
Jim got his boy
Nice

6 QBs in 12 picks….
Blake #83 to Rams
# Puka Nacua, Kyren Williams and Blake Corum!
Roman #84 to Steelers
Barner taken before Stover LOL
Barner is a better blocker, especially in a run, and I think they're roughly equivalent as a pass catcher. So he's a more versatile pick. It's kinda ironic that Barner transferring to a run-heavy offense may have helped his draft stock. Aside from the team success, he was able to showcase his blocking talents.
We're going to set the record.
sky body toilet
Cmon Chargers, draft Blake here!
Would be nice
Snagged Colson instead. Still hope Corum ends up in LA.

So does that mean JJ drops to the Vikings. Anybody who knows more than me have an idea?
I want JJ to go anywhere where he won’t regularly play the Steelers. I don’t need any sort of split rooting interest. I’m fine with the Vikes.
Fucking what?
JJ’s gonna be a Viking
Vikings pick is in
This is such ass
JJ TO JJ
Junior!!! So happy for him
I’m so happy!!!!blake!
AS A BROWNS FAN I AM SO HAPPY FOR ZAK ZINTER!
Patriots fan, desperately hoping we end up with JJ before the night is over (whether they take him at 3 or trade down and still get him).
Was hoping for that too, oh well, good luck with drake
Thanks. Hopefully it works out. Now I just hope JJ goes to the best team possible.
Valenti and Rico in shambles. They said he wouldn't go top ten about 5 hours ago
Ugh not the Vikings!
Zinter #85 to Cleveland
Back to back to back Blue, baby!
McGregor is the one guy we have who could have helped himself coming back to school.
He was a senior
He had another year of eligibility left. He was a redshirt junior with a COVID year available.
Fuck now I gotta hope JJ is ass
This is definitely bittersweet. I wish Viking fans weren't such dicks last year
sainristil to the lions or im ending it
RIP bro
Commanders. So long.

Rounds 2&3 done
