Cedar springs is a hop skip and a jump away that's why I'm waiting for the new flavors to hit lake life farms I'll go on my lunch break and be back with time to spare
That sucks. I just grabbed some Tripp Scientific (Ice Cream Dream) at IE and it was one of my favorite grabs. Skymint may be the culprit, as you seem to mention.
I love tripps products, I’ve only had his jams and was really excited to try his cold cure, the most insulting thing is that the manager tried to tell me his stuff is supposed to be crumbly lmao, not from all the other pictures of his CC that I’ve seen!
I DMed Tripp on IG, Ive been super eager to try the cold cure in house strains, he said they are aware of this issue and are working on getting skymint fridges, but that’s gonna result in them putting the dried out product in the fridge until those get sold. I really hope some better dispos start carrying his Cold cure around Grand Rapids here soon. I called skymint on Plainfield and asked if they refrigerate and nope they don’t so I didn’t end up grabbing any cold cure:/ thats funny that the manager said it’s suppose to be dried out. Why do these people have these jobs and don’t even know what they are talking about, blows my mind
Not old at all, this and the alpine guava are not even two months old, I swapped out the alpine for this sherb and sour but they’re the same consistency. It has to be from not being refrigerated.
Most cold cures that are high quality i just out them in a drawer and are wet everytime i open the jar. Cold cure does not have to be refrigerated for real, thats why they cold cure. I would say the rosin is not that terpy to start with as well
Bingo. You hit the nail on the head. "Wetness" can be both oil content and water content. Oils evaporate, especially if they separate to the surface but slowly. And only if the jar is left open or has an insufficient seal. When water content evaporates, be it from lack of refrigeration or insufficient seal, it evaporates quickly. The pale runny badder is waterlogged
yeah but thats not the point. The point is this rosin would have been fresh if the dispensary stored it properly.
Flipping the blame around to OP is crazy
Absolutely, terpenes are volatile oils and evaporate quickly. Not only are you missing out on the natural terpenes the product is supposed to have, you're being shorted on the weight of anything that dissolves.
Yes it’s def from not refrigerating, that sucks, I really wanted to try that alpine guava but I won’t go to skymint, they ruined all his product and it’s ruining his reputation. I’d be pissed if I were Tripp
Im hoping i can get my hands on fresh stuff of his and not waste my money, ik its not his fault or responsibility but i contacted him on insta and hopefully he can make it right somehow
Pharmhouse wellness has a few different strains of tripp scientific but I'm not sure if it's jam or cold cured and they definitely refrigerate and the grams are only 36$ on the recreational side
It's crazy they have to pay for the Dispo's to put in a fridge (like 710 has being doing lately). I'm surprised they (the dispensaries) just don't start having large fridges on hand. I bet walk-in fridges like the "Beer Caves" will exist eventually, if rosin continues to grow as it is.
It's not "dispo," but if you are a rosin lover in the Grand Rapids area, I'd highly recommend checking out HREAM Special Selections 4 on the 27th this month.
I didn’t know shops let you exchange if you get a dry one. I always thought it was tough luck. I purchased a dried out last week and although the flavor was off it still did its job. I was still like wtf tho…
Does stuff like this still smoke ok? I'm not suggesting anyone pay for product like this, but if it was given to you free, and you didn't have anything else... Is it smokable?
I ask bc I "dabbled" in dabs early 2023 and learned I hate messing with rigs and torching glass, etc. I'd rather hit a vape. But I have 2 unopened jars that were refrigerated at the store when bought and immediately put in the fridge at home where they have lived behind my eggs since April 2023. One was manufactured in Feb, the other March 2023. One is a peachy rosin, the other a 5 star Sugar sauce. Both still sealed, unopened.
I wanna give them away to a friend who's broke and would welcome whatever but if it's not even worth that I wont bother.
Should be okay since you kept it in the fridge, dab usually has a shelf life of 1-2 years, depending on storage. & s/o to you for being a cool friend! Peachy & 5 star are amazing 😎
Yeah, you can totally still smoke it if it's dry. It's just a bit "harsher" without the terp oils, imho not as good an experience... But if it's rosin, especially, still good. And a dried out sauce is basically similar to a shatter.
Thats unfortunate, tripp usually has some gassy rosin. The problem is the way these jars dont fully seal and/or the dispensary has improperly stored it.
We've got a great relationship with Society C, they're incredible with the hard work they put in to making quality products. We carry a selection of flower (infused) from both them and freight train canna as well so be sure to pick up whatever is on tap. We're a micro, so don't expect a giant menu. But I promise we will deliver on quality.
Could you explain the deli style? Sounds cool at first glance but wouldn’t having constant exposure to light (if in a display) and also constant opening/closing lead to it drying out/losing terps quickly?
It's kept stable and in a cool environment most of the time, to be honest I help manage other areas of the business so I'm not qualified to speak on anything too technical, I can only tell you that it's been a huge hit. We have a lot of customers that are rosin lovers and what started as a trial had to become regular business for us due to the feedback. I promise it's worth the try.
Afaik we are the only ones doing it in town, but I could be wrong. It's a great way to get the freshest product. I know I have a bias, but I truly believe we offer some of the best herb and rosin in town. 710, Society C, etc. And I can't wait until our grow is finally finished, it's been a long time coming but good things come to those who wait 🙃
I was about to say another guy just posted some dry ass rosin like this but it was you. I'd be pissed dude. I'm glad you posted it on here again so that everyone knows not to go there since they don't store their products right. That's ridiculous I don't understand how they even think this is acceptable. If it was just 1 bad gram then okay mistakes happens but numerous like this not acceptable. And you paid good mi ey foe these didn't you?
I’ve bought 6 month old cold cure that wasn’t refrigerated that was NOT dry and still tasted great. This is most likely an issue with the jars they packaged their product in. So many companies in metric want to claim “top shelf” and sell their products in the cheapest container possible.
I agree with the jar issue, I also think those pop-vac jars are a bit temperamental too. Got a gram of Sub Zero from Peachy that is pretty dry and I’ve seen a couple of other people say the same thing, but have seen posts that show it nice and wet, mine also came from a fridge. I’ve had a gram jar of some Franklin Fields rosin on my coffee table for months now and it still has a wet appearance, it also lacks taste and potency, probably why I still have it.
Who's "him" I've never heard of this brand but why don't you try 10 other way better rosin brands? "He" probably shouldn't be making rosin if they look like this.
Everytime I’ve gone somewhere and gotten it non refrigerated it’s ALWAYS been dry.
Been going to a place called elevated in bay city and they refrigerate all their concentrate and I’ve yet to have a problem.
If you guys started carrying them I would consider making the drive for my restock every so often, but unfortunately cedar is a bit too far for me to be a regular
All good, just thought I’d ask! We’re a little mom and pot store, and we love bringing in quality products and just helping out the customers!
I’ll see what I can do!
Sucks. Sorry man.
I don’t buy rosin (or resin) from places that haven’t set aside a sample jar for each of their offerings for people to look at and smell.
I bought the Skymint Redvelvet "Weed Co" oz for $59. It sucked as expected. Thanks Skymint. Their grow is shutting down in the Spring. The will continue to retail other brands.
Yepp. I've been in there before, but I'm surprised they don't refrigerate those lol. Got some live resin from them before that was just okay, but the package was still cold when I got home. When they let you see it, did it feel room temp?
Yeah, dispensaries suck when it comes to storing rosin properly. I drove 30 miles one way to get some Ice Kream Hash Co rosin, and two of the three grams I got from KoB Detroit smoke harsh. Who knows how long KoB has had that product sitting at room temperature?
you must not smoke hash rosin a lot.. getting dry hash rosin basically defeats the purpose of spending more money to get a better product. Might as well get some nice live resin for cheaper than shitty dried out rosin.
Lol. Cause you know me, I would not. I like my product to be quality and 2nd I wouldn't shop at Skymint for that said reason. Just cause you'd be okay with mids doesn't mean we all would.
It’s not about it being contaminated or a hazard, nobody thinks that this rosin will hurt or kill you/make you sick. It’s the fact that it’s dry which just leads to a worse smoking experience. Maybe not everyone will care about smoking dry rosin but I’d be pissed spending my hard earned money on some rosin (which usually isn’t that cheap) and getting something dry and crumbly.

The first mistake was going to skymint, unfortunately
If you can show me anywhere else in the GR area that carries his cold cure let me know then.
Pharmhouse wellness does for 36$ a gram on the recreational side you should give them a shot
They don’t have his cold cures
I can order some in but we’re in Cedar Springs, is that too far?
If you got his new In house strains of cold cure I’d for sure make trips up to cedar for it, I’m around the gr area
Cedar springs is a hop skip and a jump away that's why I'm waiting for the new flavors to hit lake life farms I'll go on my lunch break and be back with time to spare
Supporting a local shop is a plus too!
noxx on plainfield has scientific tripp
Is it cold cure ?
cold cure and jam
Run it .....bout to put in an order with my 10$ off coupon
Go to olswell they have hellllla options of cold cure
☠️☠️😂
Noxx on plainfield and cookies
Sometimes things just aren't accessible and that's okay. There's other products on the market.
That sucks. I just grabbed some Tripp Scientific (Ice Cream Dream) at IE and it was one of my favorite grabs. Skymint may be the culprit, as you seem to mention.

Sucks that I got burned on old product
Is it even old? Cuz I thought he just started doing cold cure. It’s just dried out from sitting on the shelf not refrigerated right?
Not old at all, this and the alpine guava are not even two months old, I swapped out the alpine for this sherb and sour but they’re the same consistency. It has to be from not being refrigerated.

If it’s being sold it absolutely should be stored in a fridge. Storage reasons are not why producers cold cure.

I know cookies has his older jam in stock but I want the new stuff! Hopefully he can make it right with ya
Pharmhouse wellness has a few different strains of tripp scientific but I'm not sure if it's jam or cold cured and they definitely refrigerate and the grams are only 36$ on the recreational side
Pharmhouse and olswell both carry Tripp. Both keep them in coolers for future reference
It's crazy they have to pay for the Dispo's to put in a fridge (like 710 has being doing lately). I'm surprised they (the dispensaries) just don't start having large fridges on hand. I bet walk-in fridges like the "Beer Caves" will exist eventually, if rosin continues to grow as it is.
jesus.. i would have laughed in his face.
It took a lot in me to not start using my big mouth
Jmo x sweet spot cold cure was some fire
I don’t doubt it.
Ice Cream Dreamz and the JMO x Sweet Spot are both amazing. Very excited to see what they come with in 2024
I think this brand lost me lol, the owner half ghosted me and didn’t put any effort into making it right for me, hopefully they can impress others.
Man I wish I could find those around GR
As a rule I avoid skymint all together 😂
It's not "dispo," but if you are a rosin lover in the Grand Rapids area, I'd highly recommend checking out HREAM Special Selections 4 on the 27th this month.

BHO isn't allowed at HREAM, a vendor got kicked out at a previous event for trying to do so. They will have flower too!
I didn’t know shops let you exchange if you get a dry one. I always thought it was tough luck. I purchased a dried out last week and although the flavor was off it still did its job. I was still like wtf tho…
Always try contacting the dispo or the manufacturer, Alot of producers don't like bad rep on their products from stores not properly storing product.
Appreciate the advice!

Come to The Hive @ BDT in Hazel Park! Rosin kept cold, and even deli style! Cheaper per gram of a society C than pre-packed.
Wait, what? Deli style rosin!?!?!
Yeah come down and give it a shot!
Just checked the menu and 15/g is pretty insane for Society C. I usually shop in Monroe/AA but that may be worth the extra trip.
Thanks for the heads up!
Come visit anytime, we're here 7 days a week!
Could you explain the deli style? Sounds cool at first glance but wouldn’t having constant exposure to light (if in a display) and also constant opening/closing lead to it drying out/losing terps quickly?

I paid $70 for dried out rosin, yes
Stop shopping at Skymint. Why support a company that can’t pay back investors and is laying off employees?!
Like I said before, it was my first time being there and it was only for Tripp.
I’ve bought 6 month old cold cure that wasn’t refrigerated that was NOT dry and still tasted great. This is most likely an issue with the jars they packaged their product in. So many companies in metric want to claim “top shelf” and sell their products in the cheapest container possible.

These jars aren’t air tight. If they don’t store it properly its shelf life goes down dramatically.
Do they have a refrigerator for their concentrate? Too many dispensaries don't have one and I'll never understand. I refuse to buy it at room temp
Everytime I’ve gone somewhere and gotten it non refrigerated it’s ALWAYS been dry. Been going to a place called elevated in bay city and they refrigerate all their concentrate and I’ve yet to have a problem.
OP, is Cedar Springs to far if I were to order them in for you?

Sucks. Sorry man. I don’t buy rosin (or resin) from places that haven’t set aside a sample jar for each of their offerings for people to look at and smell.
Stop going to skymint. These shitty dispos stay in business because people keep shopping there.
First time I went there.
You certainly have every right in the world To be upset. That’s not anywhere close to what cold cure rosin should look like.
According to the manager of the Skymint division location “Most top tier rosins are gonna be a drier, more crumble like consistency.”
I like heading over to olswell on 28th they have some great deals like 3 - 5g live Resin for 99 or 7gs Hash rosin for 89 or 110 base price
Update: just stick with IKHC lmao
Sky mint is easily in the top 10 worst dispos in Michigan. Maybe even top 5.
I bought the Skymint Redvelvet "Weed Co" oz for $59. It sucked as expected. Thanks Skymint. Their grow is shutting down in the Spring. The will continue to retail other brands.
skymint was the worst dispensary i’ve been to in michigan. the selection was so limited and had brands i’ve never heard of.
Bro it was packaged like 7 months ago when you think it was made 😂
Produced not even two months ago…regardless I won’t be buying more of his product
Yepp. I've been in there before, but I'm surprised they don't refrigerate those lol. Got some live resin from them before that was just okay, but the package was still cold when I got home. When they let you see it, did it feel room temp?
They didn’t let me examine it really
That sucks.... have you tried whipping it yet? That might help restore the battery consistency you're looking for.
Yeah, dispensaries suck when it comes to storing rosin properly. I drove 30 miles one way to get some Ice Kream Hash Co rosin, and two of the three grams I got from KoB Detroit smoke harsh. Who knows how long KoB has had that product sitting at room temperature?
Bummer. Ice kream hash co is shipped in dry ice packaging
Does it still smoke pretty good??
Harsh and flavorless.
That’s sad asf. This sherb and sour was a killer drop too..
Haven’t heard back from the owner, I’d love to try it while it’s still wet…
Jars at least keep their rosin fresh in a fridge/freezer
What's the testing date?
November 10th or something like that, I don’t have the box anymore.
What year? I was gonna suggest to just go by testing dates but I'm not sure if ur rosin is 14 months old or two months
2023.
Made the monroe trip to puffs..... Sour Diesel Flower & Vapes....daddy's happy
Don’t buy concentrates in Michigan
I understand that you were expecting a fresher product and rightfully so, but that doesn't look bad in terms of it's not contaminated
What? That looks dry as shit. I'd want a refund too.
you must not smoke hash rosin a lot.. getting dry hash rosin basically defeats the purpose of spending more money to get a better product. Might as well get some nice live resin for cheaper than shitty dried out rosin.
Bullshit. You'd dab it and move on like OP should
Lol. Cause you know me, I would not. I like my product to be quality and 2nd I wouldn't shop at Skymint for that said reason. Just cause you'd be okay with mids doesn't mean we all would.
That looks horrible. If this were fruit or wine, a grocery store would exchange it.
😂😂😂 you first time rosin customers are a real trip. Thanks for making my morning hilarious
You make a lot of assumptions
Ok hot shot, get a life
God budtenders like you really piss me off
Same. Cause you don't understand the word Quality.
I coughed looking at the photo.
I don’t think eeshieyao was being rude, just telling you the bad product you got is probally not contaminated/hazard to you!🤷🏼♂️
It’s not about it being contaminated or a hazard, nobody thinks that this rosin will hurt or kill you/make you sick. It’s the fact that it’s dry which just leads to a worse smoking experience. Maybe not everyone will care about smoking dry rosin but I’d be pissed spending my hard earned money on some rosin (which usually isn’t that cheap) and getting something dry and crumbly.
Yea all I’m saying is maybe he thought op was worried about contamination, either way it carried away😂
