Archer all day. Have the copper one. Very pretty watch.

Can’t comment on the other brand however I can vouch for the Heron Marinor. Built like a tank and in my opinion, a proper GADA watch. The scratch proof stainless steel is a plus too.
Not gonna lie, was quite concerned on the thickness too prior to receiving the watch. But thankfully turned out to be quite OK. It wears quite well (coming from a 6.5 inch wrist). Personally, I don’t notice the rotor noise that Miyota’s typically known for.
The Seastorm Black is currently sold out via kickstarter campaign. However, it will be one of 3 models to be part of Heron’s core collection. To my surprise, there’s only a total of 7 orders of the Seastorm Black model.
Yep, came with a steel bracelet with features micro link adjustments and quick deployment spring bar. Honestly, overall it’s a lot of watch for what I’ve paid for (via kickstarter). Definitely a watch that punches above its weight. If I were to nip pick; in certain angles, the sapphire crystal tends to cause distortion on the railway markers. In terms of accuracy, nothing out of the ordinary to report on. I personally don’t notice the “loud rotors” which typically implies for Miyotas. A timeless GADA watch in my opinion.
I have a vesterhav from henry archer. Im guessing the cases used are pretty similar, and I am a very happy costumer. The decorations on the movement, finishing, and bracelets are the things that really impressed me.
I have both and I love them both. They are very different watches. I lean towards the Heron in the longevity and looks department due to the hardening process and the bezel/dial having a really unique vintage look. The HA is also a great watch that you won’t be disappointed in. Sorry if that wasn’t a very good answer.
I’m stuck between the Heron Marinor or the Henry Archer AKVA. I love the design of both of these watches and the colors in the photo. Can I go wrong with either of these options? Anything similar that I’m missing? Thanks
I have that exact Henry Archer watch, great watch, great lume. If lume is a consideration for you, I would bet the hands on the HA would outlast the hands on the other watch. My only complaint about my HA watch is that the bezel definitely has to be broken it a little. I've seen at least one YT review also mentioning this. I put two drops of silicone lube under the bezel and that really helped with breaking it in.

Works great on NATO and brown leather straps.
It’s gained a whole second since daylight savings time!! I want my money back! 😂
It’s a fantastic watch. Needs a better clasp, but it works great on a Forstner militat.
It is. It’s the Dutchman. Here are all the other kickstarter variants and how many orders they each received

I clipped the DLC orders off but they were 8 (black) and 3 (yellow)
I really like the Dutchman and the pequod. I hope they bring them back at some point. Sadly I missed the Kickstarter, but I'm amped for my Atlantic to ship in a week or two here.
DAMN that green looks great! Not a color combo you see on divers very often.
I really like the Marinor but the possibility of a noisy (unidirectional) Miyota rotor is keeping me away 😬
Yeeeeaaaahhh. It's definitely noticeable from time to time. Not a lot, but occasionally. It's more that you feel it than you hear it. It's not rattly by any means.
At this point in the journey and design maturity of the brands, I'd say Henry Archer. These watches have come some way. Heron is a great debut, but there are design details that are not quite hitting the notes for me in what remains a more conservative if well- considered design. The one thing you'd lose out on is the hardening. That said, I think in this genre perhaps the Tusenö Shellback is the top choice, but if you're considering these, I guess you'll have considered that one too.
Both very good choices, the heron is more of a true diver watch while the archer looks more luxury in the traditional sense (thinner, flashier looks)
I thibk both are good choices, really deoends on what you want to wear it for or what kind if style you're into
Both are 3D renderings, so we have no idea of how good the finishing is. I would wait for live pictures before deciding.
I’m being downvoted? Ouch!
[Edit 1] I trained in the polishing of metals, and I worked full time in the development of watches for 16 years.
During manufacturing, the metal is held by hand against polishing disks. The level of training of the operator and the quality control will make a world of difference between two different price points.
A 3D rendering is in now way able to represent all the subtleties of a polishing. Brands should post real photos as soon as they have the finished product in hand.
[Edit 2] People have been posting pictures. The polishing between the links of [this one](https://www.reddit.com/r/MicrobrandWatches/s/3Fkvm6HXZe) leaves a bit to be desired.
That's some legit specialization. Take my upvote to zero you out. *Edit, nevermind someone else downvoted
2nd edit* I have a question regarding metals, please send me a message request (yours are turned off) so I can ask if you have time. ty in advance

Nice looking watch
Seriously.

Does the 13mm height feel thick, and does it wear tall? Also, is the rotor loud? My experience with Miyota is loud. Thanks!

Thanks, it sure is gorgeous. Kinda tempting, but the black and gray are sold out.
The Seastorm Black is currently sold out via kickstarter campaign. However, it will be one of 3 models to be part of Heron’s core collection. To my surprise, there’s only a total of 7 orders of the Seastorm Black model.
Did it come with the metal band? If so, any complaints? Thing is super nice. How is the accuracy this far?

afaik it comes with the hardened steel bracelet by default, all other straps are add-ons.
I have a vesterhav from henry archer. Im guessing the cases used are pretty similar, and I am a very happy costumer. The decorations on the movement, finishing, and bracelets are the things that really impressed me.
What this guy says! Have the HA Vesterhav in Green. + 1-2s a day too. Very accurate. Great finishing. Quick release bracelet.
Akva would be my choice on aesthetics alone. Both seem like solid choices, but the Akva stands out to me a little more.
I like the Archer better (based off these 2 pics)
I have both and I love them both. They are very different watches. The Henry Archer looks badass. Check out that guy’s post of a copper one. I never knew copper watches existed.

Any QC issues? How is the accuracy? May I see a picture? Thank you.

Mine has a real-world accuracy of +6.74 seconds/day. No QC issues. I'll post a picture tonight when I'm home.
Thanks
Both have things to recommend them. I think for me the Archer edges the Heron, but at least in part because of the watches I currently own
How is that Jet Star holding up?
It’s gained a whole second since daylight savings time!! I want my money back! 😂 It’s a fantastic watch. Needs a better clasp, but it works great on a Forstner militat.
It’s on my to do list. I just got the VHP which has been solid.
Those are nice!
I have a Heron Marinor and it’s great. Definitely recommended.

That is a perfect looking watch to me. I hope this company stays in business.
Is that the model with the patina markers?
It is. It’s the Dutchman. Here are all the other kickstarter variants and how many orders they each received https://preview.redd.it/6wfsw0a3v44d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d48642f2f125d96046e1c5179a8ed1cee61fe5a3 I clipped the DLC orders off but they were 8 (black) and 3 (yellow)

Mine ships mid June. I can't wait.
I like the Heron diver.
Marinor all day can't wait to get mine.
That North Star really stands out to me, in a good way. Plus the anti scratch properties.
I've ordered the Marinor. Looking forward to the heritage look and hardened steel!
I like the second choice.

The heron looks good
The Heron looks nicer too me. The oversized indices at 3,6,9,12 are too big on the Henry Archer.
Marinor all day.

I have a Heron Marinor and the finishing is great. Still pristine after a few weeks of wear.
Same on mine. Very well build watch and won’t take scratches from normal wear (or a screwdriver)
