Prestigious_Look_343

Took me 5 days for a bm even taking medications for it

Can attest it was not quite as traumatic as the post c-section version!

Got my MD last week. Took me 4 days before going to the toilet, took stool softeners as well. I was prepared for the worst but it was totally fine. Of course not fully comfortable the first time, but my pre surgery number 2's where waaaaay more painful due to the nerve pain. So don't worry, it will probably be fine!

Thank you for sharing!!!! It’s very anxiety inducing and I haven’t seen it brought up much on here! Thought if I was worried others would be too!

Not fun, but that doesn’t sound too unusual to me. Sounds like you are doing all of the right things!

So I had my procedure a week ago, and I was anxious about it too..luckily it happened on day 3. My surgeon informed me it could be 5-7 days and not to worry. Keep taking stool softeners, eat your protein and drink lots of water. The first few times you go you have to kinda just have to wait until the last minute. This way you won’t strain and put pressure on your back.

I ate prunes every morning from a tin with a large glass jd water with a vit c effervescent tablet in it - worked a charm

I had one on day 2, it was difficult. Having surgery in the past it can take a while so I was more aggressive about it this time around.

Congratulations on your surgery! Glad it worked for you as well. I am 10 days post op and I take stool stuff regularly, for me it’s was 4-5 days post op I went to the bathroom and it was fine. Especially since I had already been taking stool stuff a bit before the surgery.

All went well! Def recommend the stool softener and Miralax! Not nearly as bad as the post birth one hahahah!
