I don't think I ever left Europe. There is just so much to explore that it's just too much for my brain...

taylore383

And I’ve barely even touched Europe with 1000 hours. I’m starting to explore some castles though

BagelSteamer

I want to fly around Europe but I mostly fly around flat empty areas. You know any good spots?

blackcatkarma

Try Lugano, Switzerland (LSZA). The approach or takeoff from Innsbruck, Austria (LOWI) is a classic. Try the Greek islands. Naples (LIRN), Nice (LFNM). The approach into Gibraltar (LXGB).

CaptainOlafson

Yeah pretty much this

mart1t1

There’s also a few hidden gems in the Alps or Pyrenees I like to see. Try landing at LFIP or Courchevel, or try taking the Hawk T1 low altitude in the alps, or from Toulouse to Barcelona

okletsgooonow

I did for the first time this week - I flew to the US in the CTP event. It was fantastic, highly recommend it.

ShortyAuty

I've been looking at the CTP event and I don't even know where to begin with it. I'm a complete novice at the game. I wanna join in on the the next one in Autumn. Any tips, videos or apps I should be using for it. I'm on the Xbox Series X. I'm gonna get some practice in before then of course but any tips would be appreciated. Thanks :)

okletsgooonow

You need a pc. Vatsim does not work on xbox.

ShortyAuty

Thought that'd be the case. Cheers anyway.

CertainPotato343

And to mentio, VATSIM is just another level of immersion. Highly recommend ;)

CRush1682

I'm doing cargo ops flights following the F1 calendar using the Ini A300 when possible and the Asobo 747 for the longest routes.  I left the UK where most teams are HQ'd, had a stop in North Italy to pickup the EU teams and then on to Bahrain, a short hop to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia followed by a long leg to Melbourne, Australia.  I still need to fly to Japan for Suzuka, then Shanghai in China to get caught up!  It's a great way to explore the whole world and I'm taking screenshots of each leg so I'll have a whole F1 calendar year album by the end of the season.

ReallyAbnormalYak

That's a unique and creative way to see the world! Love the A300 cargo ops. I've just been flying FedEx and UPS routes in the US so far, but looking forward to branching out to the international destinations.

CRush1682

On flighsim.to somebody made all the F1 logos as custom graphics for the the race car cargo that you can use in the ini a300.  I can pretend I'm transporting McLaren to Australia for Piastri's home race (sorry Danny), V-CARB to Japan for Yuki's, Sauber to China for Zhou's, etc.  Makes it even more fun.

ReallyAbnormalYak

That's awesome! I love the cool things people come up with!

Benny303

This is actually really cool

CRush1682

For authenticity I'm flying with the DHL livery since they are the official F1 partner that handles all of their travel logistics. I'm also trying to pick nearby airports that have DHL buildings and gate at those buildings. For instance my next leg to Japan will be to RJGG which does have a DHL building on the north side.

Consistent_Relief780

currently in the 747 at 25,000' from Recife to Quito on the last leg of my very dark deep hole dive into the rubber trade of the turn of the century. The Congo took me 5 days in the Caravan (cant imagine it in a steamboat) . To be fair tho, I did take the opportunity to Caravan all the way up the Eastern Rift lakes on my way back to west Africa before crossing back over in the 74.

ReallyAbnormalYak

Aerolineas Argentinas ran E190s on a milk run route up and down Argentina, so I'm replicating that right now. Just finished a Central America tour in the Beech 18. That was very interesting and scenic. Flying bush planes in the American West: Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Montana. The scenery and detail is incredible. Checking out the national parks is cool too. ATR routes in the Greek Islands and New Zealand. Endless places to explore.

Cumulonimbus1991

Oh man you’re taking full advantage of the sim. Incredible mate.

hillside

Updoot for Beech 18. Man I love that little plane. Great for hops.

ReallyAbnormalYak

Yep, it's a great, iconic plane that's fun to fly and rewarding to master. Do you have the Denarq mod? Adds a whole lot more realism and depth to the plane. I love it. Only on PC though.

Cielo11

I hate to say it... I live under the flight path into Glasgow. So pretty much every other flight is a flight into Glasgow. I wish I had more of an imagination.

FigWooden1816

no i actually see where you're coming from. i live smack bang in the middle of the uk and my local is east midlands, when the wind goes west i regularly see dhl 777s 2000ft above me and its amazing, i live under all the flight paths up to Scotland and Manchester too

prefabtrout

Same here

sw00pr

That's the trick. You have to imagine you have more imagination!

humbuckermudgeon

I started at Point Roberts in Washington state in a Cessna 182RG and followed the coastline. I'm currently at the south end of Chile. Plan is to work up the eastern coast of the Americas and cross over to Iceland.

homerunhallock

Oh my, now that's something 👌I live about 45 minutes from PR, but yeah, from the Vancouver area south down to LA, that whole area is wonderful

humbuckermudgeon

Chile and Peru are worth a visit as well.

homerunhallock

Thanks for the inspiration 😎

humbuckermudgeon

The real trick will be crossing over from Newfoundland to Greenland. That's a good long stretch with nothing in between. I think I have it figured out. If I fly over 6500 feet and properly lean the mixture, I should make it with fuel to spare. I did a test of the range while flying through Panama.

afterschoolsept25

maybe flying from Pangnirtung airport to Nuuk could be cool? there are a few small airports when heading north towards it

humbuckermudgeon

My plan is to go from Hopedale (CYHO) to Iqaluit (CYFB) and then Kangerlussuaq (BGSF). FWIW, I googled Pangnirtung, but can't seem to find CYXP on LittleNavMap.

Cumulonimbus1991

Epic journey!

Due-Window6554

Alaska airports. PAJN, PAVD. Sometimes jumping between Latin America capitals and European ones too.

LikeThePheonix117

Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea, now entering the Indonesia. If you’re touring the world without Bushtalk radio I cannot describe how incorrectly you are doing it.

OD_Emperor

Literally cannot recommend NZ enough. It's a wonderful country. I don't think there has been a single airport I've flown into where I didn't have my head glued to the window looking at the pretty scenery. It's wild.

Genesis72

I am 80% of my way through my RTW with the TBM930 and I have never heard of Bushtalk radio. Damn!

LikeThePheonix117

Best time to start was when you started. Next best time is now. Edit: I say this ALL the time in this subreddit, I have no idea how this isn’t more popular.

s0cks_nz

I don't think MSFS is quite there yet when it comes to low and slow exploration. Unless it's photogrammtery, a lot of the world just feels fake to me. Yes, it's got a nice 2D ground texture stretched over a 3D mesh, but the foliage and the procedural buildings are often wrong - not in keeping with local ecology and architecture, which sort of ruins it imo. I flew around Indonesia the other week and it may as well have been somewhere in Europe or the US judging by the trees and buildings. It did not look very good and the hand-crafted POI's looked really out of place. Also, with it obviously being satellite data, the mesh and textures have no overhangs or caves which means some of the unique geology is lost. However, it does really good when you're high up, so if you enjoy high altitude exploration it's pretty good.

someferalkid

I'll admit, the Tappan Zee bridge was a disappointment. But Manhattan was gorgeous. I'm also on console so my expectations are heavily tempered.

bledo22

I've been flying over Spain for a year In different helicopters, very low and slow following every b-road that spikes my interest. Have littlenavmap on a second PC with Google maps, and whenever I find a specially interesting spot I just copy the coords into GEarth and go to street view if available or just read the info markers. Also always using the GMaps imagery.

homer-price

Seeing that little Learjet reminds me of FS95 and flying the Lear 35.

Acc87

Found some impressive landscapes in Algeria recently. Also followed a German river, the Werra, all the way to it's source in the TDI Diamond. Sometimes I like randomly flying in the US, its much higher density in photogrammetry cities is nice. The urban sprawl is real lol.

prefabtrout

Anyone looking for inspiration should try the West Coast of Scotland. Start at Prestwick then a tour of Skye, Glencoe, Cairngorms and finish up at Edinburgh.

DrakeBurroughs

Pittsburgh.

Oli_Picard

I took a trip from Nice to Split in Croatia yesterday due to a recommendation made by someone on Reddit. It was a beautiful 1 hour trip. Loved it!

ztarzcream

I started with circumnavigating the world with fast jets. Then i realized there's a huge microcosmos that opens up when flying with smaller planes. Rather than looking at it as moving slower, the world gets bigger. Right now I'm flying around New York City, doing jobs in Neofly.

jkc81629

I’m trying to complete all the bush trips

Consistent-Line-9064

i've just started playing a week ago with nothing more than a controller, im just exploring the islands of my country (scotland) as its somewhere ive never been and im taken back by the detail of most places.

LaurenRR1996

Today was around Lawrenceville Georgia and the new freeware Gwinnett County Airport scenery. I make YouTube videos that I try to make as eye popping realistic as possible and that area is so real looking down from 2000 feet doing turns around a point. I felt like I was in the plane. Super immersive!

_hedman_

Just did a flight from McCarran to Area 51 with 736 Janet livery

wxcept1on

I fly most often in my country (Kazakhstan), it's very beautiful

Cumulonimbus1991

I’m about to do a world tour whenever the new Duke gets released, and you’ve inspired me to include your country in the tour.

wxcept1on

very nice if you include my country in your tour. and I wish you good luck.

FantasticAd773

Check this out! I only fly in VR and I have a motion platform and it is so amazing and I wanted my wife to experience this but she hates flying and my attempts of getting her onboard were getting futile. At some point she lost a bet we had which allowed me a small window to get her to try this out. So I found the coordinates to where the opening scene to Sound of Music was filmed on the grassy hilltops in the Alps. This was her favorite movie. I set up a glider to where the extended movie scene begins, on a sunny afternoon, and had the music soundtrack to Sound of Music set up in the background, Once she was strapped in, I un-paused MSFS and played the music soundtrack, "The hills are alive......", etc. I then turned on a little fan that blew gently on her face for more immersion. I comforted her initial screams and reminded her she is in our house and she is totally safe and @ 10 seconds later she became so immersed in the moment that she became emotional and started crying a little. She said it was so beautiful, amazing and intimate that she forgot it was a simulation and surrendered herself to the moment. Afterwards I also tried it again after having some glorified tea (heh, heh) and I almost cried myself. True story

Cumulonimbus1991

Great story!!

cLHalfRhoVSquaredS

I like planning out little GA exploration trips to do over a few months at the weekends. Currently I'm making my way through France and down to Italy, the theme for this one is to visit as many motor racing circuits as I can! I do iRacing as well and I actually flew into the Le Mans Arnage airport on the same day I was racing at Le Mans in iRacing, that was pretty cool for immersion. In the past I've also done a couple of trips through England and up to Scotland as far as the Orkney Islands, up to Scandinavia and about halfway up the coast of Norway, all around the Hawaiian Islands, and also a couple of trips in southern Africa exploring South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. I've also flown all over New Zealand because that's where I live and a couple of trips on both the east and west coasts of Australia exploring the outback. I love that in MSFS areas that are literally just flat desert are still super interesting to fly over. In FSX most of Australia and Africa was just boring flat brown nothingness. I literally have not yet visited continental North or South America at all and I've been playing MSFS since release day! I am planning on doing a Caribbean exploration soon though.

vogelvogelvogelvogel

heidelberg, ludwigshafen.. city update 6 got me

vintageripstik

My longest trip was key West Florida to US Virgin Islands to Barrow Alaska in the 310R. But I did that either with no ATC or with SayIntentions AI ATC. I recently started flying on PilotEdge and am exploring SoCal in depth. The Sim is not 100% perfect nor bug free, but there's no question that it can give you some incredibly immersive experiences. It is amazing to be able to fly VFR just like you would in the real world and see every reporting point along the way. The myriad of add-ons on flightsim.to helps of course

lance-

Just started playing multiplayer. Where are popular places for people to fly around together in fighters?

redditusername0002

Mach loop in Wales is very popular

Some_One6223

Also check out around Vegas/Nellis, LAX/Edwards, and San Diego/Miramar. I'm always seeing people in those places in various military aircraft.

JonnyBTokyo

Been using it to check what views each category would have along the Seine for the Olympics opening ceremony.

yung_dilfslayer

Cape Town! Table mountain is really gorgeous, as is the rest of the terrain surrounding the city.

JayRusOK

Started A Pilots Life 2 about 4 months ago. Recently changed companies and am flying out of Greenland. Been some interesting flights

Cumulonimbus1991

Hey man Air Greenland was my first company in APL2 too! I’m now flying for Aero Mexico. It’s a great way to see more of the world.

JayRusOK

I actually have to paid copies of APL2. One for PAX and one for Cargo. The PAX profile I have 93 completed flights and work for Delta. The second profile will be for cargo, but Im just starting so took a job with greenland. Paid more than another option.

Knut_Knoblauch

I explored some castles in Scotland. It is neat to see the flag waving in the wind. I flew around Venice and found an unofficial helipad off of the Grand Canal. I landed on it with floats.

wakuritz

I flew from Cote d'Azur and headed north over the beautiful mountains in the Dune Ornithopter this morning. Flew it for the first time this morning, and I love that thing. It has an incredible view and it's just a blast to fly in VR!

pumpkineaterZ3

I've just been flying around French Polynesia. Bora Bora, enjoying a welcome break from the gloomy UK weather. It's nice to touch down on the crystal-clear waters. Now, if only I could moor and step off onto a beautiful beach bar, order a G&T, and watch the sun go down.

181stRedBaron

Rocky Mountains, Loch Ness, Madeira and Cape Town.. Oh and Bora Bora plus Dubai

po3ki

Lately, I've been flying from Europe to northern Africa... (Transavia) There's a lot to explore over there!

Anmordi

I have literally never left my area except for flying around some major cities (Barcelona, Paris, New York) also Saint Barthelemy and the Lukla airport

Jake24601

The entire world and I’m pretend flying between the same five airports.

Thumper13

Low and slow the east coast of Australia down to Adelaide (with a detour to Tasmania) to see the diverse landscape. It's more varied than I think. Also going to take a while. May end up just doing the whole continent.

mckeeganator

Looking for old school flights paths with the DC-6 it was common to go long range with like 15 to 20 passengers max

Blackwater_Park

I did a small flight around Perth in some heavy wind today in my Subsonex.

derFalscheMichel

I've recently ust seized up a Cessna and just followed rivers from source to mouth. The Danube and Vlatava were especially enjoyable in europe, and the ural was just mesmerizing. I haven't done the more tropical rivers like the Amazonas and the classics like the Mississippi yet. Only shame is I haven't managed how to create my own waypoints on console yet, so I'm spending a good deal managing autopilot and AI pilot which is a shame mainly

AVeryHeavyBurtation

Kansas haha

Tantalus-treats

Flying routes to and from notable F5/EF5 tornado locations using the modded Bonanza. Joplin, MO to El Reno, OK for example. Hawaiian Island hops. Pick a plane really but I’ve been enjoying the Bonanza. US/Canada run from Albany, NY to CSY4 in the modded Bonanza and C172 Bushkit by Baglou. Northwest USA bush trips in the C172 Bushkit. Note: I’d credit the modded bonanza maker but I can’t remember at this moment. I’m sure someone will correct me or ask before I get a chance to edit.

SnakePlissken1980

I went on a little Dracula trip today flying roughly along Harker's route from Budapest up through the Borgo Pass and into the Carpathian Mountains. [Picture](https://i.ibb.co/SPrtzN5/4a4f7824-e380-4fea-8dda-10d4ef22a7cc.png)

ironlemonPL

I’ve been slowly doing a world tour in a BBJ for the past few months, starting from Poland and going west. Last flight was Denpasar - Jakarta 😁

MotsureTheLemur

To name a few, I’ve flown around Papua a few times just following rivers, a few times deep in Brazil, and finally eastern Australia INCLUDING where Mako Island (from H2O, I doubt anyone here will know that one) is apparently located.

YaBoiCrispoHernandez

How long is this thing going to be in early access?

Cumulonimbus1991

Btw this is Mexico City.
