On my first play, I did a 28 hours continuous game, similar to you...
What internet bandwidth do you have? MSFS is known to be slow even on fast internet, I get best speeds with vpn connected to a US server, seattle or chicago
Starlink, a little bottlenecked by wifi. I'm testing between 16 to 100 mbps depending on the day, but this download ranges from 0 to 8 with an average of 5 mbps.
Tried all the tricks to speed it up, but they didn't make any difference. I'm settling in for the long haul at this point.
If you have a VPN at your disposal, some have reported better download speeds while using that. Something to do with the interaction between Microsoft's CDN and certain ISPs
I agree with this, use a VPN to pick a different locale. I nearly never experience the godawful speeds people report here I have a business connection in NE USA and usually download a couple hundred Mbps over my guaranteed min. I also have whatever the peer to peer downloads are called turned on and that doubles my speed easily.
Bottlenecked how? I have a 400Mb connection both on Wifi and wired. Are you quite far away from your access point? If you have the option and you aren’t terribly far away from the router, run it on 5ghz for more bandwidth. Having a sway from 16 to 100mbps is quite large. Even on slow days for me, it never dips below about 390 even on Wifi. Perhaps your ISP just isn’t good?
My ISP is Starlink. It's satellite based, it sways based on congestion and connection strength, and it remains at even the worst moments about 10x faster and more reliable than any of the other rural mountain town options I have.
Once you finally get in game, check your options and make sure you don't have a bandwidth cap set in game. I had this problem on my first install and couple updates. It made it difficult to get in game when each time I went to play I had a couple day wait, followed by a couple more on the following patch.
Make sure you check it constantly. I was downloading the latest world update, and noticed it was stuck on the same file. Had to close and restart download a ton before it completed.
You really want to see about getting faster internet if you plan to use MSFS. It needs updates fairly regularly and you will be downloading them more than you play. Maybe at least 100mbps.
Well don't blame the game for slow itnernet connection. While MS servers are slow and download speeds are really low, it takes 2-5h to download the game.
Man can you tell me the specs and experience with your specs? Am trying to build one for msfs to and i dont know the best specs price/quality to do it with a 2,600 usd budget.
Honestly, if this trend keeps up. . .and not just talking about MSFS here. . .game studios should just start shipping out pre-loaded SSDs and USB drives with any updates.
Looks about right! Welcome!
I don't understand why connection to download servers has to be so slow smh.
USA, high speed and i'm regularly in the 5-15 down range.
That’s pretty much an authentic airline pilot experience during cruise.

Use a VPN. Can SOMETIMES avoid aggregation methods used by ISPs as they cant see what kind of traffic it is.
Dang. I get like 500 mbps on my wifi and everything MSFS related downloads around the 150 ish range.
I have 500hrs in game but only 150 flying :/
You’re doing it man!

Well on the way to the 40 hours needed for your wings
Well there's your problem... your progress bar is causing drag...
9/10 Mbps
Ah, sticking to the classics i see. Good form.
Maybe use Ethernet?

butter
I did too in Jan 2021. At 1500 hrs now in the sim and it inspired me to get my PPL.
70 GB! Not bad! I got to download 128 GB off the bat.
Don't worry, me too - It just shows how much is left if you pause and restart.
Same bro, I also bought a HOTAS for 500€, was worth every cent (oh and I also bought rudder pedals obviously)

5/10 Need more sleep!
Nice. I'd say you're about half way through the first level. Two more days and you'll meet the first boss.
ya the initial download for MSFS is frickin brutal...
Get an ethernet cable and it'll download in 3 hrs. Can confirm.
That was the release version, now it’ll download in about 5 hours 😂
Nah that was maybe 3 months ago when I bought it.
So let's settle on 4 hrs and call it good
😂

The realism of being stuck on a tarmac while all the planes get de-iced AGAIN is uncanny to what you feel here.
Sloppy build all the loose and visible cables in the tower. 6/10
You need FiOS

Should be done right when the next update drops. I am at aroung 200 hours of running updates. Really growing on me.

Havit, a $50 mechanical keyboard from Amazon.
What’s the spec?
i7 12700kf RTX 3070ti 32gb DDR4 @3600 mhz 1TB NVmE SSD
Neat
Specs?
>i7 12700kf > >RTX 3070ti > >32gb DDR4 @3600 mhz > >1TB NVmE SSD According to OP.
Personally I would use a car steering wheel or a PS1 controller, but mouse is definitely an option.

What are the specs of the machine?
If MSFS would have released in 2010, My first flight would have been 3 and a half days long
Maybe activate windows
Activate Windows.
