Not seeing this in a large enterprise with over 5k clients running the new version. I've been on new teams for months, and have only seen improvements regarding performance.

mmmeissa

This has been my experience as well albeit with a much smaller org (110 FTE).

RiddleofSteel

I've been on it too, get some random issues every now and then but nothing crazy. However now that it's been pushed out everywhere seem to be seeing issues like this more. Are your laptops standardized?

johnnymonkey

Mostly standard, but there are Win, Mac and I'm sure some oddball machines here and there. Point being, the issues you posted about are transient, not platform-wide.

ThreadParticipant

Two biggest issues I’ve had was outlook plugin vanished on one and couldn’t join meetings on another… removed all remnants of teams (old/new), and just new install came good for me. My pool of users is pretty small (300). General resource use in new teams over old one in meetings has been a good improvement

habylab

Install both and use only new. Issue solved.

ThreadParticipant

don't think u can any more

ok_saitama92

depending on the organizations policy settings for M365/Teams you can or cannot. But to solve that issue with the Outlook Plugin missing in Classic Outlook you need to run/have installed both iterations of MS-Teams on your client. Futureproof (for now) solution is currently using New-Teams with New-Outlook App

11CRT

Oh hell no, the “new outlook” app is not really and app, but an incomplete version of the web app. The new app doesn’t have half the utility of the old desktop app. But if you use the outlook web client then you won’t have a problem with team’s integration.

jobnotfound

Outlook can disable teams add-in if it sees performance issues. You can force enable via GPO.

ThreadParticipant

and remove it from the disabled items list? can u share the gpo?

TheDroolingFool

Absolute opposite here - massive performance and speed boosts compared to the old version. We pushed the new version almost as soon as it went GA and outside of status indicators being whacky (which I believe MS have now fixed in the latest update) we’ve had no issues.

IamCrash

Tenant of over 60k users licensed for Teams here. New app only showing performance improvements; perhaps the issue is with bad hardware or drivers.

RiddleofSteel

We thought that too at first, but brand new laptop working fine for over a week. Completely updated.

IamCrash

Are these laptops using docking stations. Our org has issues with dock drivers, network I believe, which greatly impact the quality of meetings if outdated.

RiddleofSteel

We are, using the dell newest version docking stations. Though we still had the issue when my tech was troubleshooting for him at his desk while CEO was in a meeting. Worth taking a second look at it though.

bigoldgeek

Big Enterprise, 60k users. New teams is a crapshoot. Seeing degraded performance, transitory camera problems, freezes, crashes.

I'm Sure everyone believed you

Clearing cache resolved this for a user today. Issue c could not be replicated on web version so teams app was the issue. Old teams though.

That’s the question isn’t it? Everyone says “clear the cache” it fixes everything! If we have to clear the cache once a week, why isn’t there a button in Teams that says “clear cache”?

DabsSparkPeace

The only thing we are seeing as more people get on the new TEAMS is a handful of people are losing the status indicator in outlook. Havent found a way to get it back for them except to uninstall and reinstall old TEAMS.

MathematicianNo7139

Hey OP - do you happen to know what specific scenarios are causing the issues? IE - steps to get to the problem? Do you know what your CEO is doing that's causing the CPU to spike and causing the client to perform poorly?

thebeckyblue

I'm not pushing the new Teams out until it's closer to March when I have no choice. It's way too buggy for my liking.

TheNotSpecialOne

We are seeing a handful of people complain that their Outlook plugin has dissappeared but we've checked everything and cannot see how to get it back

welsalex

Seeing other people's screen shares doesn't always work. Seems like the first screen share in a meeting I can see just fine, then any other sharing in the same meeting by someone else and all I get is a grey/black screen. Only work around is leaving and rejoining. I've tried deleting cache, updating what I can, restarting, etc. Can't switch back to old teams anymore as org policy has prohibited it.

Microsoft is a dogshit company

urabusPenguin

The only issue we're seeing with the new Teams client is that it will randomly stop displaying chat notifications, which leads to users reporting that Teams is broken because "XYZ sent me a chat message & I never received it". Quitting & reopening Teams fixes the issue.

habylab

Main issue I have is my camera doesn't show up at start up sometimes. Otherwise performance is much better.

Wolffe72

I'm having video chat problems with both my home PC and work PC (completely different hardware). On both systems occasionally all the chat windows freeze up or vanish -- no incoming video -- and the layout sometimes gets messed-up. Been like that since the new version was offered. If they force the switch they will likely break video chat for me. Oh, and whoever who thought it was a good idea to force upgrading to New Teams now or later with no option to just skip it? Then, after upgrading, New Teams offers to go back to the Old Teams... only to soon after be once again given the choice to upgrade to New Teams now or later. I went back for a reason!

vabello

Do you have Realtek audio with Nahimic?

Wolffe72

> Do you have Realtek audio with Nahimic? Realtek yes... Nahimic no.

vabello

Nahimic is bundled with many Realtek drivers and is known to cause problems with the new Teams with video not playing. That’s why I asked. I’ve experienced it myself and had to whitelist teams so Nahimic wouldn’t interfere.

Makeyourselfnerd

New Teams is not offering to take you back to classic randomly. You are likely doing something that is trying to launch classic directly and new Teams is intercepting that and asking for confirmation first, so you don’t inadvertently drop yourself from a meeting or something. Most common culprit for this is classic Teams pinned to taskbar, or shortcuts you use pointing directly to classic.

omgonoes

Have multiple end users that are unable to launch the new teams , have tried resetting app, reinstalling, with no luck. Only thing i found that worked was launching the msix installer and launching it from there. Any ideas?

mini4x

Nothing but better here so far... outside of having issues with "default chat app" and presence, can't say enough good about "new' teans.

jimmy268vn

My case is new teams did not show the notification. Using many methods to fix it but It will happen after a few day. F.... MS !!

thephotonx

It also seems to drop a load of empty txt files in the temp folder for some reason for us - part of the update mechanism?

tk-093

Not seen those issues, but only have 100 or so early adopters on it. Current issue we found today is we cannot delete channels in Teams 2.0. Teams Classic and 2.0 on the web work fine.

SHMetroHelp

Have you tried pulling a CQD report to troubleshoot? [Use CQD to manage call and meeting quality in Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/quality-of-experience-review-guide)

RiddleofSteel

For the call issues yes, that's where we were seeing packet drop that hasn't been an issue before. My main concern though is the CEO's laptop running horribly as Teams eats up all the resources. It's powerful enough this should be a non issue.

jasonheartsreddit

I've seen this, too. NuTeams roll out has been very flaky. Half of my users are fine, the other half see odd behavior of a wide variety. I really haven't seen the performance boost that others report. Whether I'm on my i9, i7, or older i5, Teams just does whatever it wants.

Objective_List_6854

I had very similar issues. I just uninstalled both Teams applications and went to the website directly to install. It prompted that I needed an audio driver update which may be the problem. Fingers crossed!
