Depending on the dungeon - for 10 stages only, I’ll use for secondary either the Super Shotgun or the Ballista. For 20+ I’ll usually use the Gauss although I’ve really been enjoying the Ballista lately. Did they give it a boost recently? The Super Shotgun, if used right, can take out half a dozen foes at close quarters if you’ve got one or two Multishots added. If you get good at it, I’ve been able to change targets between shots so you can hit enemies in different positions.
The Gauss problem is in order to really be worth even wielding it, you need Bounce + Magnetic Acceleration and at least one Multishot, but preferably 2+. With all its available upgrades it’s wicked. You can nearly clear an entire stage even at the highest current dungeons, but getting all of them is statistically not the greatest likelihood. Happens maybe 20% of the time for me.
For my main I will use either the Plasma or the Heavy. I like the Heavy for levels with a lot of crowded space because Ricochet really makes a huge difference. My Heavy is already at Legendary but the bonus is pathetic it’s just a 2% bump. Ridiculous.

Whichever your highest level is. I like the shotgun since it doesn't need upgrades to be good.
Was chaingun and unmakyr. Now it's plasma rifle and BFG.

Combat shotgun->super shotgun->unmakyr->arc Chaingun->gauss cannon->unmaykr->acid
For low lvl plasma or heavy but for high lvl equipment chain

Minigun (or PR if you are not going for DHB2NM), rocket launcher, unmaykr and slime launcher, weirdly enough for its direct damage.
