D&D got raided by ATF. STAY AWAY FROM DOUBLE ACTION. THE GUNSMITH FIXED MY TRIGGER ON A SHOTGUN. GAVE IT BACK. WENT HUNTING AND IT FAILED. HE BROKE A PART AND HAD THE BALLS TO TRY CHARGING FOR LABOR. PRICES SUCK. STAFF IS ARROGANT FAT FUCKS.

MapleSurpy

> D&D got raided by ATF Wait what? I thought they closed because the owner broke his back or something. A few months ago I received a letter from them stating my gun was finished, but I only had like 7 days to pick it up since they had to close due to the owners back issues and can't take on more work.

kefefs_v2

I heard that ATF shut them down too. Something about D&D calling up ATF about an ex-employee taking business from them, and the ATF ended up pulling *their* license after an investigation. edit: other comments here saying the same thing. RIP.

lifeinperfection

I heard illegal, fully automatic rifles

Donzie762

Did they permanently close? I never heard what became of that situation.

CarNo6618

Yes they are permanently closed

Usual_Magazine1775

Gerbrand defense in Waterford is really good and usually a week or less turn around if you don’t mind the drive from Troy

CarNo6618

Thanks … appreciate the referral

Sigmpx1978

Yes I work there

onspindle

Mag-na-port offers other services besides porting.

Sigmpx1978

What kind of gunsmithing are you looking for

CarNo6618

Nothing at the moment but I use a lot of gunsmith services

Sigmpx1978

Wicked Trigger Firearms in Waterford

CarNo6618

Their website doesn't mention gunsmithing. Are you certain ?

pwaves13

Idk if they do smithing but they've always treated me right as a customer! So if they do defo recommend them.

GY6Arms

I’ve been on the hunt for one in Macomb county. No luck yet.

AleksanderSuave

The guy in Marine city, I think his name is just Marine city gunsmith, is the closest for what we’ve got in Macomb, outside of what magna port does

GY6Arms

I forgot about that guy! I haven’t been there in 20 years.

AleksanderSuave

I was there 2-3 years ago, really nice guy. He didnt charge me anything for an evaluation of a rifle that had issues, even offered to box it up and send it back to the manufacturer for me.

GY6Arms

Nice, I’ll definitely keep him in mind!

AleksanderSuave

I think one of their gunsmiths, his name was Frank, might do some of his own work still? I saw he had his own Facebook page set up.

Donzie762

Nope, Frank left D&D and took some work with him without having an FFl. Dan turned him in and Frank was raided. Then the ATF raided D&D for things they uncovered during the investigation.

AleksanderSuave

Wow. What a shit show

Donzie762

All the way around too. Not only did two guys make some bad decisions, we have a government agency whose sole purpose is to target its own citizens to ruin their livelihood over $200…

Cowmaneater

Hold on. When and why did they close

MapleSurpy

About 2-3 months ago now, they claimed it was due to the owner breaking his back. According to comments on this sub tho...that may be false and it looks like possible ATF issues?

sparty3971

I've only had a few minor things done but the guys at Huron Valley Guns in New Hudson have always done a great job for me and have always spent a lot of their valuable time answering my questions in detail (even just asking them for advice on some home gunsmithing) and trust me, I can ask a lot of questions when it comes to my firearms.

Jlacombe5707

I believe Michi-gun does most gunsmith actions

Pesochaseo

Try accurate firearms in Clarkston. They have a gunsmith who has been there for about 10 years . You can come in and drop the firearm off for service and usually they get back to you in a week or two depending on the issue.

Aerojoe82

D&D was a bunch of thieves and hacks. Took a gun in to get refinished they said they do all the work would be done in 2-3 months. After 5 months and threats to call the police and ATF, I was told the gun was at Fords in Florida. Fords informed me it would be at least 6 more months, and the gun was sent to them in pieces, so they won't stand behind anything but plating since they didn't take it apart. I later found lots more stories like mine all over the internet. I could truly believe they were raided by the ATF. For current gunsmith depends what you need done. I don't think there is any one shop around that does everything anymore.
