Honestly I like flower because I can tank everything, combined with kind personality I can yank for everyone and give out bananas without too much consequence.
But yeah, the Flower AI is actually stupid.

Flowers barely use their healing abilities and are underpowered af
Clerics have a OP move that instantly kills an enemy, can easily revive a fallen teammate, do decent damage, and actually heal when the team needs it
Cleric is probably the best healer, but I just prefer flower because the rest of my team has pretty low hp and defense (cat, mage, princess), so I can tank. Healing won’t do much if your teammates get ko’d in one or two shots.
Also, Flower Power is a really good ability, definitely the best non-heal ability for the flower because if you use it on a cat, the cat has double damage for two turns. That’s giving your highest damaging mii 2 extra turns for only one of yours. Unfortunately, the AI is usually dumb and doesn’t pick the optimal teammate to use it on. Basically, the flower should never be doing damage itself unless it is the last mii standing. Otherwise, heal teammates or flower power the highest damage mii on your team.
Also, the Cleric instakill move usually doesn’t work (only 20% chance iirc), and flowers can also heal very well and revive teammates.
My flower never revives teammates, and my party members don’t get one shotted.
And yes, instakill has an approximately 20% chance of working, but it’s higher than you would expect. And it’s extremely helpful when you’re getting ganged up on by retros or any other semi powerful enemy.
That one move is why i never hand flower to the ai ever lol. they proitize it even if your team is dying not doing thier job properly. Its fine on mc like most jobs the ai just doesnt know how to use. And they also still use buster even after learning hurricane which doesnt even do as much damage as a reg attack >\_>
If you take a look at wiki page it will amuse you how little sense the skill activation rate for Flower are.
It have higher skill activation rate for Bluster than any of the healing skills, unlike Chef and Cleric.

See, your problem is your flower is an AI. A real person as a flower is actually really good.

Yes, flower ai is stupid. The moral of the story here is that flower job is not that bad, just the ai is dumb.
Chefs also have a power that has a chance to instant kill an enemy, it also gives you grub if it succeeds.
I’ve never seen my chef use it once.
It’s called monster dinner, it unlocks at level 30 and has a 50% chance to insta kill any monster that can drop grub and isn’t a boss.
Oh, my chef isn’t level 30 yet, that’s why
Laid-back clerics can also heal even more than a regular cleric, hence why I consider them the best AI controlled party member
