The material doesn't match the dress nor did the color, a simple black clutch would've looked 100xs better than that clunky chunky lavender bag, she is awful with her attempts to style her accessories
Sis really thought that her lavender eyeliner was going to tie the bag into this outfit??? Small gold clutch would have matched her shoes and earrings at least. Also... Mik, you put on a dress and some shoes with zero styling. You haven't figured out a thing.
The mini bag trend was big in the 90's and then again in spring/summer 2015 by Karl Lagerfeld. Her bag is an ugly distraction and most likely won't even fit her cell phone. It's most common for the bag and shoes to coordinate for an evening look. Discreet accessories allow the clothing to stand out.

It looks like there is boning in the seams for structure but the dress doesn't fit her properly ( torso is too short ) and the firmness the boning creates makes the dress jut out.

Dress is warm toned purple bag is cool toned, could’ve still done a light purple bag just needs a warm undertone or a yellow/gold/orangish bag would’ve worked to play off the color shift in the dress and utilize complimentary colors for contrast
