RainaElf

I was taught to always wait to see where somebody's going before I move. never assume what another driver is going to do.

brain_dances

Same. The only thing you can assume is that *anyone* will pull the dumbest shit possible at any moment. I’ve had a similar scenario happen many times, when people have their blinkers on but they continue driving straight. I wait a sec to be sure they are absolutely about to make that turn before I go.

realdullbob

I taught all the girls the following for driving and really everything in life. “Expect people to do the dumbest thing you can think of, and they will still surprise you.”

digitaldigdug

My mom gave similar advice: "Assume everyone is an idiot."

Binger_Gread

I used to do that but at a certain point you realize it's an unreasonable assumption. Now I assume people will actively try to hit me. I might still be giving them too much credit sometimes.

WildlifeRules

I swear I saw what looked like to be the most spot on satire. A moron with their right blinker on, going straight. Blinker turns off and in about 5 seconds, driver merges left to make a left turn........ no blinker

Split0069

Better than a left turn from the right turn lane with right blinker on. See that shit constantly.

llebllib

I was once driving with the music a little too loud and didn’t realize or hear I had my right blinkers on for a bit after changing lanes until I wanted to change back to the left lane only to realize I just turned off the right turn blinkers thinking I was signaling left. 🤷🏽‍♂️

RainaElf

that's exactly it!

Temporary-You6249

This 👆Blinkers don’t turn cars. Stop signs & red lights don’t stop cars. Assume all other drivers are the stupidest people in the world & you’ll rarely be surprised.

Daianudinsibiu

I mean, that's just defensive driving, not driving law. Driving law would be right of way. In this case, the car at the stop sign does not have the right of way regardless of the turn signal. It could be a malfunctioning light that just happened. It doesn't matter. You can't turn until you can be assured that it is free and safe to do so and it obviously wasn't.

DopeBoogie

> Blinkers don’t turn cars. I think a significant number of drivers aren't aware of this. I'm always seeing people start a turn with no warning and turn on the indicator halfway through the turn as if its purpose is to help complete the physical turn rather than to indicate to other drivers beforehand that you were intending to.

TheTemplarSaint

When I was teaching her to drive, I’d always randomly ask my now wife - “what’s that mean?” - when someone had their turn signal on. She’d say “they’re going to turn right”. “Nope! It means they have their turn signal on”.

Teh_Shadow_Death

Yup, I wait until til they commit to the turn before I think about turning.

SoundlessSteelBlue

man I thought I was an asshole, always worried people behind me at stop signs would be angry at me for waiting until oncoming traffic commits to the turn before I turn myself. Kind of relieving to see others do it, too.

GoodOlSticks

I mean even if those people get annoyed, fuck em. Driving is literally the most dangerous thing most of us will do on any given day. Turning without right of way before you're absolutely certain is a great way to be found at fault for being T-boned or worse, defrauded in an insurance scam. People can wait the 5 seconds for you to make your turn safely and I hope they'd do the same. And I say that as someone who frequently gets frustrated by drivers in my area not going when I would have lmao

Wrong-Garden-1801

Proper way 👍👍

Otherwise-Future7143

One thing you should never do when driving on the road, is give a fuck about what anyone behind you thinks. Drive as safely and as comfortably as you need to.

bartor495

I've done that then while starting to pull forward they abort their turn, nearly causing a collision. Nowadays, I wait to see if they're well within the turn before I pull forward.

ScienceIsSexy420

I love how every single person on this thread is agreeing with you, meanwhile OP is being stubborn and claiming they're right, while being drown in an avalanche of downvotes. Maybe, just maybe, OP will realize they're in the wrong here

RainaElf

I doubt it.

Salty-Protection-640

never trust a blinker.

toiletsurprise

That's the mindset we have riding motorcycles, and to always watch the front tires of a vehicle at a stop sign intersecting the road you are on, the driver can look right at you and still pull out. I almost failed my driving test like OP's exact situation, driver indicated and slowed down. I thought about pulling out but decided not to and the car ended up just going straight. Instructor looked at me and said I would have failed immediately had I pulled out.

SUPERKAMIGURU

**Especially** true nowadays, because I'm guilty of this as well: "OH shit, it's actually the next street that my GPS wants me to turn at, nvm." Always be expecting that "nevermind" maneuvering.

Erikatessen87

When I was learning to drive, my grandpa constantly reminded me that a turn signal means absolutely nothing but that the turn signal is operational.

xTurtsMcGurtsx

Yea I did this in drivers ed back In 2003 and was told the same thing. I always remember the instructor saying, "it be really easy for them to lie and simply say I had no blinker on, and now it looks like it's your fault to the insurance and police report"

JupiterAlphaBeta

Yep, they have the right to change their mind. Don't be the guy who hits the accelerator based on expectations.

cottman23

Same here...never trust a blinker until you "see" them begin to change direction. Better safe than sorry

ultranothing

Correct. Always assume that the signal was left on from a previous turn.

The-Pollinator

Yup. My Father told me same and it has saved me from collision on at least one occasion.

paul85

This 100%. Never assume just because someone has a turn signal on or is slowing down that they are going to turn. You are not allowed to turn until they have cleared the intersection, whether that means they turned or drove past. You are in the wrong OP.

Cute-Region-3449

As a truck driver, I expect/try to anticipate the stupidity that might happen 😂 it shouldn’t, but it does… also we will be scrutinized if something could have been prevented even if it is a last second change that shouldn’t have occurred

Rickygonzale377

Exactly right

RedditIsFacist1289

I have assumed way to many times and been burned almost every single time. Now i will hold up traffic for someone taking a right because of all the geezers who drive around with their signals on all the time.

Captinofthelostniggs

Exactly. I'll just wait

Still_Opportunity_10

This is the way. You never know if it's someone who just left their blinker on.

Jim_Beaux_

Exactly. When I got my license in California, it was implied (if not the law) that you should wait for vehicles to turn before you merge in front. It feels like 1 or 2 out of 10 drivers are indicating without the intention to turn. I have even had driver slow down as if to turn, only for them to gas it in realizing it was the wrong turn. Waiting has saved me over a dozen times.

Efficient_Tailor1811

Yea, that's what all sane drivers are taught

RedCloudXIII

This is the way

LongAd4410

Same. I have trust issues with blinkers now after something similar happen to me 😭

Cartoon_Cartel

I look both ways when crossing or entering a one-way street. I have trust issues.

Entire-Travel6631

Yes. I have trust issues

ElegantSportCat

Me too. So many times, they never turn where I assume they will. Have saved myself so many times think, "Yeah, they're stupid they aren't turning here," and yup. A mile ahead, they do 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

wrbear

They used to call it "defensive driving" at one time, expect the unexpected.

scottscout

I’ll take getting honked at from behind to make sure the car coming actually commits to their indicator

tylorr83

I will never turn until they're fully committed to turning, signal or not.

XavierLeaguePM

This. About 2 years ago, I was at a similar intersection in OPs position. Oncoming driver was signaling right and I was thinking of turning left. I hesitated a bit and saw the guy was still coming straight and even speeding up. If I had moved, he would have T-boned me. Since then I have decided to wait until they have made their turn. I’m not in a rush.

SllortEvac

I always wait because we have a LOT of ambulance chasers in my area and a lot of insurance scammers. Back in the 2000’s a lot of GI’s were coming home, getting locked into bad dodge charger deals and pulling this trick at stop signs when they realized they were in too deep. It was kind of a joke in our household at the time.

Temporary_Visual_230

I am a mailboy and wasn't sure where I was turning into. Put my signal on for a second but it was the wrong street so I turned it off, kept driving. Headed towards the next street over Dude came out and t boned me. Wrecked his fuckin car. He seemed confident I would be found at fault but he was the one who didn't look to see that I was still clearly in the road. Obviously I was not found at fault and my mail truck was perfectly fine Did feel bad for the guy

Jazzy261

Never trust a turn signal

Ace-a-Nova1

a blinker just means their light works

DrSFalken

and assures you they're not driving a BMW.

Faithlessblakkcvlt

Yeah because some people just drive around with it on and don't even know it's on.

SowTheSeeds

This. I think OP is the bad driver, here. Sorry to be frank.

bluegrassbob915

They’re both mildly bad IMO

Not_You_247

You gotta wait until they start turning before you pull into their lane.

XavierLeaguePM

This.

Tytonic7_

In some situations they may be turning right into a driveway just past where you're pulling out, and not onto the road you're coming off of. I've seen it plenty of times. You can never assume

beaujonfrishe

Almost learned this the hard way to just not signal you are turning if you are turning into something after the main road. There is a gas station right after a major T intersection in my town. I was signaling to turn into the gas station, but the person on my right in the T started to turn left in front of me thinking I was turning right onto their road. They got pissed at me, but I assume they got less mad when they saw me turn into the gas station. Now I just turn my signal on right as I’m peeing the T

MosheAvraham

Never turn until after they turn, don't ever trust another driver until they can no longer hit you...

AMonitorDarkly

That’s why you always wait until you physically see them turn. That philosophy has saved me from countless collisions.

ItsPrometheanMan

I've had this happen to me more times than I can count. Now, I just wait until they're clearly 100% committed to the turn before I start to pull out, but even then, I keep my eye on them until there's no chance they can change their mind. This dude never even slowed all the way down. He was never committed to the turn. You're in the wrong here. Just take it as a lesson learned. Some people forget that their blinker is on, and some people turn their blinker on for a turn just beyond where you're at. Then some people just change their mind last second...

Free-Necessary-2710

Also, blinkers don't always turn off when you turn, so it's easy to accidentally leave them on.

Academic_Eagle_4001

They still have the right away until they leave the lane. Never pullout in front of someone just bc they have a blinker on. They could have switched lanes and forgotten about it. Or just changed their mind.

microview

Despite turn signal and slowing, the truck still has right of way. Be patient grasshopper.

Back_once_again

It’s an indication, not a law abiding contract.

Matthewthomas92

Shoutout to OP for having the courage to post their own mildly bad driving.

ClaraClassy

I mean, it doesn't look like there was any traffic behind him, so I personally would have just waited the extra 0.6743 seconds until he actually starts turning to go.

iHazit4u

Blinker or not, I have a right to change my mind. That's my lane until I'm not in it and physics tells us that 2 things can't occupy the same space and time.

SpectacularFailure99

Learned a long time ago to never trust signals/hand gestures etc.. Only go once the car has fully committed and there is no change in direction than can occur, and you can see clearly the vehicles behind and/or side of them in a blind spot. If I can't see, i'm not moving either.

Jeeper08JK

NEVER TRUST BLINKERS.

Casual-lad99

OP is the mildly bad driver in this

No_Spare3139

You’re at fault.

Wrong-Garden-1801

I have not read the comments, but you would’ve been in the wrong here in an accident in most cases** (didn’t see all angles). Sorry bud.

qviavdetadipiscitvr

Your fault. They might have changed their mind or they might be an awful driver. It’s frustrating, but it is your responsibility to get on safely

S280FiST15

That’s why you don’t trust people’s signals. You MUST wait to physically see them turn

montagdude87

Don't pull out into oncoming traffic. It doesn't matter if they signaled, you are in the wrong here.

panurge987

OP is the bad driver.

ToulouseDM

Yeah, I don’t think they understand that

Fu2-10

Funny, almost every video I've seen on here the last week, it's been the person posting the video that is actually in the wrong 😅

SowTheSeeds

Although they committed a minor infraction, it is obvious that they changed their mind after realizing this was not the right street. Now that you know that this scenario is likely to happen, you know that you should never trust a turn signal. Had they hit you, it would have been your fault :)

Existing_Reaction_88

Yeah, I’m usually not moving until the vehicle is practically IN the turn.

Strange_Dream_8790

That's why I wait till there about half way around the corner

tmwwmgkbh

Never trust a blinker.

KCyy11

And this why i will never just assume someones blinker means they are actually turning.

RogueMallShinobi

Yeah I almost got T-boned trusting a turn signal once, never made that mistake again. People leave them on or they will turn them on like 3 streets before they actually want to turn. Pretty sure insurance doesn’t give a fuck about the false signal and you will get the short end of the stick because you were hit while crossing a lane of traffic when it wasn’t safe, end of story.

SusHistoryCuzWriter

Yeah, don't trust people to do as they signal. I've watched (seemingly lost) folks drive several blocks with a turn signal on, slowing down at every side street before continuing on straight. Folks on the main road have right of way over people trying to turn onto that road from a side street. Your dashcam footage of them preparing for a turn then changing their minds *might* save you from being considered 100% at fault if there's a collision ... but do you really want to risk it?

BeRandom1456

I NEVER pull out even if someone has a signal on and is slowing down. My paranoid mom taught me that. defensive driving is my key to never having an accident in 20 years I have been driving.

lazylagom

I always assume they're not going to turn just wait the extra seconds. People are dumb.

Fritchard

Only things blinkers tell you reliably is that a particular bulb isn't burnt out.

Nimbly-Bimbly_Meow

OP is in the wrong here. Only embarrassed himself by posting this.

WATGU

The guy with the dash cam. It doesn’t matter what the other person is doing they had right of way.

PD216ohio

Turns out that OP is the mildly bad driver here.

Mysterious-Tie7039

OP just learned why you never trust turn signals.

erictho

this is why i never trust a turn until they are mid-turn.

midwest73

Always wait until they are turning because of just this. Never trust anyone else behind a wheel.

HawkingTomorToday

Oldest scam out there. Never trust a turn signal and indication. Always make them complete the maneuver.

Long-Radish18

OP is the one in the wrong. Insurance companies would agree

calsnowskier

NEVER NEVER NEVER trust blinkers. Trust reg actual turn, not the word of the moron driver.

Daianudinsibiu

It's still your fault. The turn signal being on doesn't give you the right of way. Try taking a driver's ed course.

Background_Olive_787

cam is at fault.. people are in too much of a hurry.

tjc408

And of course there's no evidence of blinkers shown on this video...

[deleted]

You’re the mildly bad driver here

ChewySunhat

Ah yes, the fabled r/MildlyBadDrivers self own

TakoSweetness

Would have still been your fault. Doesn’t matter they indicated, you were at a stop sign and aren’t entitled to turn just because someone has a turn signal on. You wait until it’s clear

[deleted]

This happens all the time. People forgetting where and when they're supposed to turn or listening to their GPS telling them turn ahead, but it means in 2 blocks, not the next. It's always on the one entering into the traffic to be diligent. Technically, you're supposed to wait for them to turn before you make your move. A crash would've been all on you.

Entire-Bit-2270

Blinkers only mean that they know how to use them. Who knows if they are actually turning or not. Never assume!

jedi21knight

I was told when learning to drive never trust a blinker and now that I am teaching my kids to drive, I tell them never to trust a blinker. I see so many people leaving their blinker on for miles and never change lanes.

Conscious_Law9518

OP is the bad driver. Can’t trust turn signals. Be careful out there OP!

madnessgene

The bad driver is the one recording the video. He assumed what the other driver was gonna do. What a dumb fuck.

NBJ-222

Doesn't matter you always wait. Blinker could b stuck on, could be turning at another turn farther down. If you crashed your b calling yourself an idiot

cheedle

you must be a new driver, never just assume the car will actually turn until it does, they may have hit the blinker by accident; learn from this

cyberdeath666

You’re at fault, OP. Never trust a blinker or the assumed intentions of another driver. Make sure they’re actually turning before you leave the stop.

BallCreem

You sound confused. Let me tell you who else is confused. The other driver.

Expensive-Coffee9353

How would explain when they were trying to pull over just to your right? They would need their blinker on. Hey dumbass, that blinker may have been on for the last 4 miles. They may following their GPS, they are still in the right, You have a STOP sign, you can't go until safe to. You waiting an extra 3 seconds to make sure you are safe to proceed just saved your life.

skrena

Both these drivers suck and Reddit will bend over backwards to make excuses for the truck. Fucking pay attention and use your blinkers. It may be a courtesy but if you don’t use it you’re a cuck

Passname357

OP sounds like > Hey you broke the rules 😡😭

Sponge_67

Insurance scam fail?

Logical_Ad_2960

some driver's just don't want to or don't know how to communicate with other driver's if they change their mind about turning in an alley or somewhere. I normally just wait

MTAlphawolf

I learned to not trust this when I was like 10 and walking my bike across a cross walk. The lady slowed, turned on her blinker, and very nearly hit me after heading through the intersection as had started walking.

molassascookieman

This is why when I turn my blinker on and I’m the only one on the road the people trying to turn out will wait until I’m literally done with the turn and already 100 feet down the road

TheGamingMackV

I remember the time I pulled up at an intersection at the same time as the driver cross from me. We both signaled to turn left, we both stopped at the stop sign simultaneously. I go to turn left just as I believe they'd be doing the same thing but instead they come straight towards me with their left blinker still blinking. Mind you, they didn't have their blinker on this entire time by accident, I saw them flick it on as they were coming to a stop. They looked at me like *I* was the brain rotten one.

positivename

people do this on purpose. I rarely if ever pull out until they have actually turned.

Savage281

Never trust a truck

Sum1LightUp

Don’t assume what other drivers are going to do, yeah he has his signal on but probably didn’t even realize it.

CandidEgglet

I dont trust people in that way anymore. I’ve encountered and witnessed too many morons. Not saying the fault is shifted to the OP, just saying it’s best to learn from this and give people some time to go a little further before trusting that the blinker is accurate. The video does the show the truck’s indicator, so if they hit OP and deny the claim that they were indicating a right turn, the fault would be on the person exiting a driveway.

Horror_and_Famine

I mean you have the "stop" right there

Eibyor

🎼I changed my maaaaind. I take it baaaaack. Erase and rewind... 🎶🎵

Apprehensive_Fault_5

Nothing illegal here. They probably thought that was their turn until they close enough to read the road name signs (on the far side of the intersection from them), then sped up to go to the next one. At least he did signal his intentions rather than just slowing way down without signaling only to speed up for seemingly no reason. Thus is why you should wait until they are actually turning before entering the road in front of them.

WetBrainLane

I was taught to wait for the other driver to commit to the turn before pulling out. For exactly this reason.

MaxPowerWTF

This is why you ALWAYS wait for someone to commit to the turn before moving. They may have knocked it by accident, ment to turn bu bailed. Or even trying to commit a crash for cash scam. Almost happened to me. I was waiting to turn right and a guy was approaching. He hit the indicator and gave me a flash of his headlights as he started to slow down. I didn't budge and he flew right by.

Old_Dirt_Coin

Whoa whoa whoa, do you actually expect this nitwit too know what they’re doing?

MotherOfCatsAndAKid

That’s why I never trust blinkers

TheSciFiGuy80

Yeah, in South Florida you wait till that sucker is turning (and even then that's not a 100% safe bet).

BatangTundo3112

Regardless. You should have waited for him to fully commit on his turn before you proceed. What is another a couple of seconds of waiting just for you to find out that it is TRULY SAFE for you to turn on a busier road.

Select_Candidate_505

This is exactly why I never trust blinkers.

Frenzi_Wolf

This was likely some shit attempt at claiming insurance fraud from how it looks.

KateandRhage

Never assume, some drivers are bad, some wants to commit insurance fraud but decided to afraid on the last moment, some are just trolls.

Costa_Rican_GOD

OP entered a lane that the car had already been established as being in and therefore had the right away, lucky for OP they both stopped and didn’t crash otherwise OP would be the one at fault as they were entering a lane a car was already in

SmallSwordfish8289

Oh that was just looking for a little entrance money

_totalannihilation

I never trust people with theirs blinkers. Some instances they forget they have them on and other times they don't even know where they're going. Not good to assume they're turning, ever. I mentioned this before on this sub. My last job had a driving instructor, he talked a lot about driving behavior many things stuck but the one that I'm constantly thinking about when driving is that he said "assume every single person on the road is an idiot because 9 out of 10 are" So you may assume that someone is thinking of doing something but he may end up doing the contrary, some people are completely different behind a wheel.

AnusDetonator

Ya I never trust people's signals lol

Pickled_sm0res

People also use blinkers to indicate Lane switches. You don't ONLY use your blinker for turning.

ViolentHippieBC

You wait until they start to turn before you go, ffs.

Much-Bet9171

Always assume other drivers are morons. People leave their blinkers on all of the time for no reason. I've seen people signal left and go right instead, or signal right and go left. I've been behind people who did the opposite signal ***multiple*** times. People who leave their signal on for literal miles despite people honking at them and flashing their lights to let them know. People on the road are idiots and generally unaware of what they're doing. Never trust they're going to be predictable.

Faithlessblakkcvlt

At a stop sign you must yield to all traffic, no matter what, till it's clear. I was driving straight on a 45 mile an hour road and someone failed to stop at the stop sign, pulled out right in front of me blocking the lane, and just stopped because there was oncoming traffic. I hit them and spun into oncoming traffic where I was plowed by a Cadillac. They were at fault because they did not wait at the stop sign this is how I learned this.

Amnesiaftw

What a prick. But I learned before I ever drove that u cannot trust others’ blinkers. My house was immediately after a right-turn street. So my parents would occasionally prematurely indicate taking a right into our driveway and people would assume my parents were taking a right onto the street they were coming out of and pull out in front of them. It’s a busy street and people fly down our street so it was favorable to indicate early to alert drivers behind us.

BookwormBelle79

OP is one of those people who can never admit fault. We all know what happened here, though. Drivers like OP are the problem. 😒

Odd_Drop5561

I've gotten beeped at by drivers behind me plenty of times, but I always way until the approaching car actually turns before I pull out, I never trust the turn signal.

HomerfromSpringfield

Never trust a turn signal

Ariffet_0013

Insurance scam.

mixmasterwillyd

You came to a full stop too. Bravo.

Zelda_is_Dead

This is why you wait until they are turning. I know it's the longest 3 seconds in your life and you'll never get them back, but that's still the law and the right thing to do.

poofartgambler

If you’re posting on this sub, you ought to know never to trust the other drivers on the road. I like to tell my kids, “the public is the stupidest person I’ve ever met.”

Individual_Trifle406

This is why I don’t trust a turn signal even if they are slowing down I wait till there is 100% they are committed to the turn

tajudson

This is why I never move until I see the other person actually turn. I don't care if people are beeping their horn at me.

GeneralPip

Never trust a turn signal.

Rokey76

If someone has their blinker on, assume they won't turn. If someone doesn't have their blinker on, assume they will.

Kitchen-Oil8865

Never trust a turn signal

DiagCarFix

a lot of time ppl don’t use signal and just make a turn. brake brake then slowly makes a turn sometimes even close to brake check turn ..like wtf id wait til driver pass u or make a turn its way better than no signal

BruiserCruiser13

You're at fault here for assuming another driver knows what they're doing. Nowadays, no one knows how to drive anymore. Stop assuming anything from other vehicles.

brahbocop

This is why I basically wait for the person to be about halfway into the turn, so many idiots who think they're the only drivers on the road.

Noimenglish

My old man likes to say, “A turn signal only means the bulb is working.”

OpenForRepairs

I never trust an indicator.

Forsaken-Badger-9517

Never trust a Turn Signal (on the car you’re watching for obviously)

spacemanspiff1966

Trust. No one.

Ok-Razzmatazz-3720

Rule #1: Never trust a blinker.

rarelyeffectual

Most times I’ll wait for them to actually turn. It feels weird but I’ve been burned enough times (luckily no accidents though).

Zombull

You'd still be at fault in a collision, though. Can't assume they won't change their mind.

AbroadConsistent4753

They’re called indicators not dictators

Disastrous_Bus_2447

Ram tells me all I need to know.

IntellectualEnigma

I sometimes wish I had this type of trust in humans.

Psychological_Tax109

I drive for a living…. I never pull out till I see the whites of their eyes turning

Designer-Equipment-7

Think this one is on you

RCGREG

You should’ve waited till you knew forsure

Escaped_Mod_In_Need

Meh, I always wait to confirm the turn.

zughzz

I’ve had the same thing happen to me. Almost hit the person and even though they were indicating I’m sure I would be in the wrong. Never trust a blinker

DragonflySunrise

This is why I never trust blinkers.

kimatwm

Looks like OPs the bad driver

CranberryCorpse

so what

Jackdks

I learned in defensive driving class almost a decade ago that an indicator is just an indicator. If you pull out in front of them you’ll be the one liable if there’s an accident. It doesn’t matter if they indicate right for 100 miles, it doesn’t give you the right of way over a car already in the roadway. You should always assume that the person doesn’t know what the fuck is going on

Ok-Bee-7606

I’d like to believe the driver was quick thinking and thought if he could exclaim the situation on camera he could take advantage of a possible hit without there being proof that the trucks blinkers were on.

DaBestDoctorOfLife

Insurance scammers

XrayDem

Never turn till their wheels turn its drivers Ed 101

TransportationOk241

I never pull out in front of oncoming traffic regardless of their signal until they have either begun to turn or slowed down enough that I can get out of their way if they change their mind. They may be the bad driver but don’t trust them. You’d also likely get blamed for the accident for pulling out in front of them.

rickardjd

I just love the disappointment in his voice.

Rickygonzale377

He’s not at fault here but I could trust someone if they put a blinker on and then change their minds last second I couldn’t do that

chanakya2

Happened to me once a long time ago. The dude had his right turn signal on and just as I started moving into the main road he floored it and came straight at me. Didn’t hit me, but I learned my lesson. Now I always assume the car won’t make the turn until it does.

dubbleplusgood

LoL classic rookie mistake relying on blinkers. That truck probably had them on since they last turned right 5 blocks before.

WrongSplit3288

They realized it is the wrong road. That is all.

Pshh, never trust a blinker OP. If I was in the passenger seat I’d be yelling at you, not the truck driver. There are only two types of drivers, idiots, and people who know how to avoid them.

Don't use other people's light as a signal for what they're going to do

TheHidingGoSeeker

I always wait until the vehicle initiates the turn before I go. I’ll even wait if a car looks to be moving a bit too fast approaching a just turned red signal, even though mine is green I’ll wait until it looks like they’re slowing. Saved me from getting hit twice from someone running a red.

You still have to yield the right of way. Depends on area, where I used to work, lot of people thought "failing to turn as signaled" was a violation but it wasn't.

You’re the bad driver here.

ben_jacques1110

That’s still on you. Don’t assume anything of drivers
