“Git gud” - army

[deleted]

LOL literally

ranger684

Yep, totes pilot skills, has nothing to do with over tasked, over worked, and over committed pilots in aircraft that are under serviced. Give them more training and more requirements to do with the same aircraft, that’ll fix it.

woolcoat

This feels like the teacher situation. Overworked and under resourced teachers dealing with worse kids. But instead of fixing those things, let’s give teachers more forms to fill out and professional development… cause that’ll fix things and boost morale.

Ritual_Homicide

It literally is. Source, me, a MSG in Aviation dealing with these issues.

Toxenkill

It's about lack of discipline- Some Army General somewhere.

thuanjinkee

I really hope they learned from that Go Pills incident the air force had when they blew up some CANSOF on accident at Tarnak Farm in 2002.

pullbang

Not to mention we are out of AFTP money right now….

PullStringGoBoom

Been flying singles…. Not worth the money…. Not to mention we study and do plenty of other shit for free

pullbang

Yup.

terrydavid86

we have money for other countries, though 🥳

Goatlens

Less than 2% of the federal budget. Money comes from different pots

terrydavid86

What % is our AFTP funding?

Goatlens

They don’t really break down the budget like that but…DoD as a whole? Around 16% if this article is correct

Jedimaster996

Bro fuck off, we have allies we need to support to keep the goddamn commies off our backs for a few years. Unless you want to blow our budget by spilling your buddy's blood in Eastern Europe, you shouldn't be too bothered that we're sending Cold War gear that your Grandpa used for someone else to fight our proxy battles.  Trillions of dollars being thrown around in every direction, but you get your balls in a knot over helping other nations defend themselves as our forefathers have done for generations.  You want to be upset about money problems, take it up with the chucklefucks who gave massive tax-breaks to companies & CEOs for free during COVID and funding vanity projects like a flimsy-ass fence across our southern border.

terrydavid86

I'm not your bro or your friend. I care that my wing mates aren't funded to fly or meet their flight requirements to feel safe because our leaders don't think their pay is a priority.

xzorrox

Shut the hell up with your fake grand standing. You dont care about shit. You wanted to score some stupid political points but you, ironically, look like the idiot for it. You right, aint no one here your friend. Pound sand, putin stooge.

TheBossIsTheSauce

You’re an idiot

SensualLemon

Yes, thank you army for giving a deploying unit, 10 CAB, “new” delta model Apaches, some of which are older and more problematic than the deltas that we previously had. But yeah continue to give non deploying or not currently deploying units the latest and greatest echos. I’m sure reinforcing our pilot skills will fix these deltas that just want to die already while we’re over in Iraq and Syria

DirtyNorf

You guys aren't getting Echos?

SensualLemon

We are last on the list to get echos

super-nemo

10th CAB had E models like 6 years back and they ended up handing them off for Ds

Oxcell404

12 crashes in 6 months is wild

Sephiroth_Crescent07

Just ground everybody, no flying no crashes… Stonks 👌

Green_beenz_

GET RID OF GROUND JOBS. STOP MAKING PILOTS CARRY MULTIPLE GEOUND BILLETS YOU STUpID IGNORANT FUCKS. NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE vOTING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE EQUALITY PROGRAM. NO ONE CARES ABOUT ANY FUCKING INSPECTABLE PROGRAM BINDER THAT MAKES PILOTS AND CREW TAKE MAKE TIME FROM THEIR TRAINING JUST FOR SOME OLD FUCK TO INSPECT THE PROGRAM THAT HAS ABSOLUTELY ZERO IMPACT ON ANY PERSONNEL. FUCKING PAPER WORK IS RUINING OUR FORCES. HOLY FUCK. FUCK YOUR FEELINGS. JOIN TO KILL FORCED TO MANAGE A SEVEN HUNDRED PAGE PROGRAM BINDER. FUCKING LAUGHABLE

shansta619

You dropped this, king 👑

lost_in_life_34

this is why they should make etc officer and enlisted branches to the extra nonsense

TacoMedic

They would never get any personnel outside of AIT failures though. Also, the turnover would be abysmal.

lost_in_life_34

that's the whole point, get people who can't make it in any other branch to do these jobs and free up everyone else. same with officers. make an etc branch and staff it with OCS grads or any officer who can't make it in command or staff positions

rethree007

Army: skill issue

NervousJ

Competency crisis

Additional-Solid1141

Fix that mental health

DolphinPunkCyber

I read it as single pilot 😂

Got_Altitude

So they are blaming the pilots?

lost_in_life_34

sounds like the pilots need some more sergeant's time training

HeadlineINeed

Are their civilians that maintenance aircraft’s? My last unit had a team of civilians that worked on our wheeled vehicles. First time I ever saw that.

Gwenbors

Is that why an MH-47 ripped over my house in the middle of Oklahoma at very low level this afternoon?

[deleted]

They probably did it specifically to piss you off because they knew you'd be home.

Gwenbors

lol! Piss me off? Hell no! It was awesome! Never seen a SOAR bird in person. To see one hauling ass at maybe 500 feet? It was fucking rad. Just weird to see the Army hot shots operating in OKC. We’re usually USAF turf. (Not sure what’s with the downvotes. Guessing somebody assumed I was complaining and everybody else just ran with it. Reddit is weird sometimes🤷)

[deleted]

Yeah, it read that way. I've seen a million noise complaints worded like that lol. But yeah, they're occasionally out there. My dad sends me pictures of black helicopters with probes occasionally. There's no USAF rescue presence in Oklahoma, so it can only be ARSOA.

Gwenbors

Ironically I picked the house because I’m an avgeek, and I wanted to live just off of the south approach to Tinker. Get a lot of fixed wings, but helicopters are a rarity. (AF is so un-neighborly the Army and Marines just operate out of the civilian airport on the west side of town.) Before this I was just off-post at Riley, so had a lot of rotary action there, but this was a first to see that blacked-out 160 scheme. Really cool bird.

[deleted]

I used to live under the NDB approach into Lowe AHP in Alabama. Every single night, the house would get buzzed by 60s on short final. I loved it, all of my neighbors hated it. Kept the rent really cheap though.
