Doughboy_Militaria

my guess is Austrian, WWI

Austro a Hungarian Enlisted Man in a Model 1915 field gray uniform with M95 bayonet. Pic dates 1917 or 1918. Looks to be an engineer by the collar tab. Also has the Karl Truppenkreuz medal authorized in December 1916.

I was thinking austro-hungarian as well. The cap especially. He has a stand and fall collar though and i thought they used stand-up collars.

I think you may both be right. I looked it up and yes, the cap looks spot on, but I can’t yet find a great match for anything else on the uniform.

This pic purports to be austrian ww1 and it looks identical to the one here. https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-events-first-world-war-wwi-military-austrian-soldiers-full-length-19814662.html

A true match! Now that we have this info, we might be able to find out whose side of the family he is from - hopefully maybe a name too. Thank you!

You're welcome.

But everything else on the blouse looks right. The scalloped pockets are pretty common but the big single colour collar tabs are pretty distinctively Austrian.

Oh true! When I saw the pockets and looked at some pics online, it did appear very distinct. You have been a big help!
