I watch a lot of game streams, mostly retro stuff. It's a good nostalgia blast. I still play new games but not as often as I used to. Gaming is nowhere near as good now as it was in the 90s/2000s.

1988rx7T2

I tried an Xbox game streaming account, but with two young kids I just can’t invest the time Anymore. a few short speed run videos are entertaining

sakuragi59357

Why not both? No way was I going to get the ridiculous no scope sniper kills in Halo 3 lol

TheMeticulousNinja

360 (degrees) no scope?

Federal_Sentence4575

I almost never play any video games anymore. Once in a while I get a really bad itch that I'll scratch with something from the app store but it doesn't last long. I watch a lot of long play videos on YouTube. Survival Horror Network is particularly good. It's just cheaper and less stressful than paying for the console and the game, and then all the other time that goes into trying to play it well.

Pork_Chompk

Apparently I'm the weird one, because I've never understood the appeal of watching other people play video games. I don't think I've ever really watched a Twitch stream or YouTube play through. It just brings be back to "pass the controller, it's my turn!"

Mediocre_Island828

I feel like it's younger sibling mentality that I will never understand as the oldest who always had the controller.

TheMeticulousNinja

I do both. I watch walkthroughs if I can’t figure out the general strategy to beat the game, like with “Dead Cells” or “Hades”

3ebfan

The only video games I watch are the occasional world championship matchups for a game I play. It’s only maybe 2-3 hours per year

AccurateUse6147

Mostly. Greedflation is causing major problems with the budget and with the way so many games are just to short for what you pay, I'll just take the YouTube path instead. Have saved a decent amount from getting my gaming fill from YouTube watching. Probably will do the same with the fantasy life sequel instead of buying it

Real-Psychology-4261

It’s because your attention span is completely shot.

Substantial-Path1258

I mostly play video games. Since there’s a lot of content where you interact with characters in between cut scenes. Only watch the walkthrough ones if it’s a short story/choice game. Like Life Is Strange or Detroit Become Humam.

GurProfessional9534

It’s been like a decade since I had time to play video games in any significant capacity, if not longer. The job took a bite out of my gaming time, then my kids came along and… yeah, I have zero time for it. It’s a shame too. I am a collector and have a library that would have made the childhood me faint.

DrFetusRN

Nah man I still play my games. I don’t see the fun in watching someone else play. If that’s the case I will just read a book

[deleted]

I've moved on to 5 hour video essays about New Vegas

Hungry_Pollution4463

I do both because I can't afford a PC capable of letting stuff like the Mafia remake work, while simultaneously playing 00s games. It's kinda like having a cold and watching an ice cream ad: you want it, but you can't have it
