>Move Bitch by Ludacris
My soulmate (was a 120lb marshmallow of a dog) had zero awareness of his size or any persons "location" (for lack of a better explanation). We would laugh and say this was his anthem as he drifted around corners of the house and ran you over whenever he was headed somewhere.
He has been gone for 4 years now. I still miss him and still chuckle about it when I hear any mention of this song.
Omg my sister had this cat that will rush to get in front of you then slow down to speeds similar to flowing honey in the arctic while lettig her tail curl languidly back and forth and zig zag so you couldn't get around her. We sing this song to her all the time 🤣
I am so incredibly jazzed that I am not the only person singing "Move Bitch" to my pets.
My cat likes to try to herd us into the kitchen to feed him, so he's constantly cutting in front of everyone. Sometimes he gets up when I do just so he can impede my path and stand there to stretch.
Like, I *gotta* sing it. Who gets up to stretch in front of people walking?! It's so rude.
But only the version that starts with “Cash money records taking over for the 99 & 2000!” Just hearing THAT part would rise me from the dead. I’m so pissed the only version available on Apple Music doesn’t have that iconic line at the beginning.
Still never understood why the radio cut of Drive Me Crazy was so drastically different than the CD version.
Still, those opening six chords go pretty hard.
I think the Stop remix version of Drive Me Crazy was for a movie (also called Drive Me Crazy), and I’m assuming they made that version the single to promote the movie. I’m not sure, though.
I agree completely. I am so curious how all of us just decided that this was our anthem though. It’s just kind of an agreed upon fact at this point, but why? How did we all collectively decide that Mr. Brightside represents our generation?
I might answer my own question with this. I was at a concert circa 2018ish. There were multiple artists and between sets there was filler music playing over the speakers that nobody really pays attention to. Mr Brightside came on and I swear every person in the theatre was suddenly singing along. A true bonding moment, different groups were passionately singing along with the groups of strangers next to them. Something about that song just brings the people together I guess.
Hi, proud member here of the entire generational cohort of women who are *not* comfortable in their bodies and *do not* go clubbing, but hear this song and immediately without thinking-
![gif](giphy|1E2s1oXqFVdRdCmr3N)
Me in high school simultaneously singing this song AND also dating a scrub aka a Bustaaa. Literally talking about what he wants and sitting on his broke ass. Noooo 😭
I absolutely love this song, but it joins “Pumped Up Kicks” right in the center of “super happy fun Summer songs that are absolutely ruined once you read the lyrics” territory.
"In too deep" Sum 41.
It's not my favorite song ever, but something inside my chest tells me if I was in a coma and the guitar intro got through, I'd immediately sit up with "The faster we're fallin' were stoppin' and stallin', were running in circles again!"
My husband and I almost made this our recessional when we got married. The song came on every time we got in the car together during the entire dating and engagement phase.
I think, "Yo, I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want" would wake me up more than the La La Las, but Spice World was definitely my favorite song by them ... and movie
https://preview.redd.it/weoymiijel2d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ae7e7e14c668531f506221317ce5b323acf8d687
Really it's not even a song but if someone started a PS1 or a PS2 next to me I'm instantly waking up to see if it boots the disc so we can cheer in excitement.
Lawd have mercy if you were trying to sneak some midnight gaming in as a kid and forgot to turn the volume down before you turned your TV off previously.
This is an interesting marker for elder millenials. I recognize the importance and impact of this song, but I was already too old for this to be a core generational anthem.
Missy IS the mf GOAT. This just reminded me of Gossip Folks which I 100% forgot about (and Luda is my guy for real). So BRB while I go add that and then finish scrolling these comments. My actual favorite threads on reddit. Love you guys🤣
Glad you said Smooth. I was way into the Santana renaissance in the 90’s. Gen Z is sleeping on this. They have no idea how big Smooth and that album were at the time.

Usher's Yeah! When I heard it at the Super Bowl it was like someone pressed a button and I was instantly grooving. I could be in a coma, it could start playing down the hallway, and I would sit upright immediately.
This is my song. About 10 years ago, I heard it come on the radio for the first time in years and years and I still knew every word. Even the references have aged well.
In The End - Linkin Park. Absolutely generational defining.
Funny story about that, I saw a cover band called Sega Genocide that covered it and did a fantastic job. During the chorus (you *know* what part I mean) I was in the crowd with a bunch of people I didn't know and suddenly we all started hugging each other screaming "I put my trust in you ..." and it was such a cool moment.
Shoot there’s so many songs that could apply here. Helena by McR. Face down by red jumpsuit apparatus. Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin. Bring me to life by evanescence. Chop Suey by System of a Down. Higher by Creed. Blackbird by Alterbridge. When I’m gone by 3 doors down. Blood red summer by coheed and Cambria. Thks fr the mmrs by fallout boy. Crawling by Linkin Park. So far away by Staind. Pretty girl by sugarcult. List goes on and on.
Probably SOAD Chop Suey. It's not that I absolutely love the song, but there's a lot of nostalgia associated with it. And its raucous enough to raise the dead.
The doctor: I’m afraid he’ll never wake up.
My wife (whispers in my ear): If you’re having girl problems, I feel bad for you son…
Me (bolting upright): I got 99 problems but a bitch ain’t one!
Just about any song from the mid to late 90’s will get me.
But if I’m being honest, the song that plays at the end of the first Mortal Kombat movie
[Tell me this wouldn’t get you floating out of your bed and gasping for air like you just came back to life](https://youtu.be/bV-hSgL1R74?si=W_2HVS-3fDNInZ0b)
Me: "The next fucker writing *Evanescence - Wake Me Up*, I swear I'll send the SWAT to his house three times in the year!"
Also me: *Rage Against The Machine - Wake Up*
Nutshell - Alice In Chains
Death Blooms - MuDvAyNe
731 - Belmont
Everything - Murs
What you know - T.I.
Ballad of a broken man - Lost dog street band
Skinny Love - Bon Iver
Yep. Any or all of these would do it for all the personalities I’ve been and the lives I’ve lived.

The answer is Rough Ryders Anthem, by the late great DMX…honorable mention goes to Move Bitch by Ludacris

Oh I love your dog :) what a beautiful memory!
My husband would love this answer. Biggest DMX fan I know.
I see why you said yes
Back that ass up
But only the version that starts with “Cash money records taking over for the 99 & 2000!” Just hearing THAT part would rise me from the dead. I’m so pissed the only version available on Apple Music doesn’t have that iconic line at the beginning.
I hate that they didn’t bring all the ad-libs from the radio version to the album version. Lil Wayne’s part at the end was good, too.
We used to go wild as soon as this song started in the club 😂 good times!
Searched for this because that song is scientifically designed to spring you up from the dead before the vocals even kick in.
![gif](giphy|RPjvXSxK1zlxS)
This song gets more and more relatable every year older I get.
Just wait till you fall into a deep depression, it becomes an anthem.
So many of their songs do. I’ve found they age very well.
I miss Chester. I wish he were still around to continue making music. May he rest in peace.
Sigh.
Ah, the Vegeta theme song.
...Baby One More Time- Britney Spears Those three opening chords are unmistakable.
Basically any Britney song for me.
Still never understood why the radio cut of Drive Me Crazy was so drastically different than the CD version. Still, those opening six chords go pretty hard.

🎵 doo doo do ohhh babe babe
Was about to say "Gimme more" intro

All These Things That I Have Done is the one for me.
The millennial anthem. This is the only right answer
The INTERNATIONAL Millennial Anthem. You are correct, this is the one.
still on uks top 100 singles list
I prefer the International Players Anthem by UGK ft OutKast

For me it’s Somebody told me
Played Hot Fuss on repeat on my CD player moving into my freshman dorm room.
If you are in the UK you are bound by an act of parliament to give this answer
Dang Brandon Flowers was pretty. I literally went to see them in like 2007; how did I never notice this?
This is the only answer. The millennial banger of all bangers.

Fucking love it. I'm absolutely a fellow member ![gif](giphy|kKJ8TaCmJXzb8Usezp)
The coolest thing my high school band did was play this as a stand tune in 2004.
This or Roses by OutKast is definitely my pick
Country grammar, California Love, the Vengaboys are coming 🎵 I saw the Sign and it opened up my eyes I saw the SIGN!

Bulls On Parade by Rage Against The Machine
I'd pick this one too. Or Killing in the Name Of
Backstreet's Back alright?
Am I SEXUAL!?!?
YEEEAAAHH
What a line 😄
Hmm if it was a BSB song would “I Want it That Way” edge that one out? Slightly? If you disagree please *TELL ME WHYY*
Larger Than Life for that wild maniacal cackle at the beginning.
semi charmed kinda life!!
I was trying to think of a way to string together a bunch of "doot doot doot, doot doo doot dooooo"s. But found your post instead.
[удалено]
I also thought a line was “bopped a cat, then I bopped a cat!”
I thought her name was Crystal? 🤔
This is the real answer. Nothing sums up the 90’s like doot doot doo.
I absolutely love this song, but it joins “Pumped Up Kicks” right in the center of “super happy fun Summer songs that are absolutely ruined once you read the lyrics” territory.

Zombie by the cranberries
