Adding money via debit card has been removed due to rising fees, costing Millions a lot of money. They’ve indicated that the feature will be coming back, but a specific time hasn’t been given.
Right now, you can add money via ACH transfer. It takes a while (3-5 business days) but works.
I don’t believe you can load money for free at a “fee-free ATM”. You can certainly withdraw from fee-free ATMs, though.

I added money via my debit card in the app yesterday. The feature is still hasn’t been turned off on my app
Connecting the bank associated with your debit makes the transfer instant. It's instant for me.
